Trigger point injections
ad
Wondering if anyone has had these administered by a doctor, specifically in the back of the neck for "weightlifter's headache". I haven't been able to lift for a week because of the tightness in my neck causing severe headaches the second I lift heavy or a few reps light. The headache also comes on just before orgasm during sex, not cool.. I've been icing, gone to the chiro, taking NSAIDS, all to no avail.
Any advice or experience with this problem is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Dude I feel you. I had this at exactly your age. Started in the gym and ended in the bedroom. Strikes like ice-cream headache with a migrane chaser. My doc gave me the well 'avoid those activities' shrug, probably didn't have those meds back then. He explained it was a muscle tweaking a nerve in the scalp when under strain. I had to go cardio in the gym, and one-way in the bedroom, went away after about 4 weeks. Then she got it, hehe!
4 weeks is insane, I might have to scrap this cycle and start pct here in two weeks..
No lifting and no orgasms= I could snap at any moment
tread-mBrother aside of yes to a chiro I had this come on a few years back and believe it or not it was due to stress. I ended up getting on lexapro for a very brief time and all was good. The stress went away and the stiff neck went right along with it as did the headaches. I actually think I accidentally figured that out as I went after some stress help from the doc and realized the biproduct was the neck and headache issues. Anyway I think I only took those low dose for a month or so and dropped them ...good to go. Not saying this is your issue but if all else fails or comes up zilch zip nada then its a thought. On rare occasion I find myself feeling it in the neck and drop a muscle relaxer pre-bed and it seems to fix me up for a good long while as a rule. It sucks whatever yours is from I feel ya! The other thing that helps me with stiffness in general is a tens machine which may be a good investment if you don't get to the bottom of it. i know the chiro likely does that for you but you may need frequent use until you gett it handled....good luck
i am surprised they worked for you bro that quick i have been off and on them for about 5 years and they always took about a month before i started to notice my anxiety go down, glad it worked out
Tread,
Thank you for your insight and experiences with this. I'm actually on cymbalta for anxiety right now and it seems to help a lot. The original headache started to come one when I was doing heavy leg press and turned my head when someone yelled my name (what a jerk huh, lol). I've been taking Gabapentin (nerve relaxer), and some flexeril muscle relaxers, as well as indomethacin (nsaid). I just feel like I'm on way to much for my liver and would like to eliminate a few as soon as possible.
Its just driving me insane not being able to get in the gym, I'm just getting into week six of my test E cycle and my strength was increasing dramatically right before this happened. I've been reading that it can take up to three weeks to subside, knowing this do you think I should go to pct so that I can jump back on a more productive cycle after 12 weeks or so, or should i wait it out and hope its short-term and hope that I can scrap some gains out of this cycle?
I actually just got a TENS unit today, I just need to get some of those sticky electrodes online and I'll be in business.
Once again thanks for your reply.
tread-mMaybe wait another week to see if it subsides and see if maybe the tens helps. If not may not be a bad idea to scrap and reboot later. Speaking of those stickies I've had to get them online as well, in my state you have to have a script for them, talk about some bullshit! Feel better soon brother , do what you can and thats all you can do.
Thank you for the advice tread. I just ordered a 12 pack of stickies on amazon, threw in some bac water and slin pins on my order lol, all three are hard to get in my state also!
