tattoos & muscle gain
ad
I have a few tattoos but nothing large at the present & I've not really noticed any change in them as I gain muscle. But I'm thinking about getting my upper arm (shoulder to elbow) sleeved in a Koi tattoo. My ? is with such a large tat will it get distorted as I gain muscle? Has any1 experienced this happening or NOT happening as you gain lean muscle? Searching about it on the iNtErwEB gives mixed results....maybe its tattoo dependent?? Design wise i mean??

id rethink the koi ;)
possibly the most generic tattoo of the decade!!
tatts stretch fine just avoid stretch marks at all costs, they create scar tissues wich cannot be retattooed well leaving permanent damage to the tattoo.
F1-Williamsbeing tattooed is part of me too...
Thx for all the advice - I'm actually waiting to look at the stencils my tat guy drew up now. Stencils of MY drawings of course.... gotta be original
The only distortion that will happen would be if you develop any stretch marks from growth after you get tatted. The possibility of it affecting the overall quality is not too likely. If the artist uses a quality ink, stretch marks wouldn't impair it. I'm tatted on my arms and in the process of getting a full back piece at the moment, 5 visits deep on that. So yeah, get the tats and grow brother, no big deal at all
GearofWarBro, I'm pretty heavily tattooed-full right sleeve, full right pec, 3/4 sleeve on left arm, plus various other locations. I've run the spectrum of weights. I was as fat as 354lbs with tats, and then down as low as 167lbs with tons of extra skin at my lowest with no muscle definition at all. I'm now about 195lbs and getting pretty solid. The tatty's have not changed at all. They've shrunk, and expanded along with my fluctuating weight. Believe it or not it comes down to how well your artist knows his craft. A good artist is schooled in composition, anatomy/physiology, bloodbourne pathogens, sterility, and all manner of issues related to the dermis. Also a good artist will know how to put ink into skin. How deep to go without scarring. How much pigment to use etc. I cannot stress enough that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN THE WORLD IF TATTOING. Don't cheap out. Pay the top dollar for the best artists. Get on a waiting list if you have to. That tatty's going to be there for the rest of your life. Don't compromise. My .02
have my whole chest, shoulder to shoulder an calf inked and have not seen any changes to them throughout cycles. No stretching etc
SwolePatrole7My arms are tatted and they grew ALOT and the tats never changed, maybe a little lighter now but could just be from the sun, ima just get the ink refilled in though but they dont look stretched or distorted at all
I got most of my ink done when I was 135-140lbs. I am currently around 210. No problems with stretching or anything like that. Maybe if I got to like 315 but that is not in my genetics. So get it done bro.
I wouldn't worry about it man. I know some guys want to wait until they are the size they "want" to be (which usually never happens), but it's pointless because unless you go from McLovin to Jay Cutler, that shit isn't going to be distorted to the point you can't tell what it is anymore. More importantly, when you're old and wrinkly, that's when it starts to look distorted... so live your life now, and don't worry about it! Carpe diem brotha'!
And honestly, if you are going to worry about anything with tattoos (other than the fact that you better love it for life), worry about your skin tone, color and the sun. You just have to keep in mind if you tan, like most bb'ers like to do.... if you get a nice colorful piece, that shit will fade over time with sun / uv exposure. I think most people know this, but just felt like I needed to mention it.
So yeah bro, go get inked !
