its funny how fast people forget how we got into the mess we are in . Bush. im not an obama nut ,infact I could give two shits who is president but he was handed a big pile of shit. while bush was handed gold bars and jewels from clinton.

jprizzle's picture

You are talking to me like I said I like obama. I don't fuck him. From what I remember about when Clinton left office usa was on track to budget surplus. One thing I have heard about what caused the debt were the tax cuts bush made even during a war.

nitrogains's picture

Outrageous national debt, caused by the war on terror and the piss poor attempts to stimulate the economy, and Americans being sold a bag of goods to live outside of their means is why we are here.

Greg's picture

You need a history lesson... this mess was a bipartisan effort started decades ago.

7gothic's picture

The current problems we have now do indeed have their roots in a system that was exploited 50-60 years ago.
People who blame one party over another are caught up in the distraction known a partisan politics, which have escalated into nothing more than a freak show.
The system, as it now stands, is broke. There is no fixing it until this country hits bottom. But we have MANY years of chaos, anarchy, and misery before we ever get close to that point.
The inner cities are going to literally burn when the logistical support systems fail (and they will soon).
Martial law.
Lawlessness
Starvation on a massive scale
unimaginable violence
A complete disintegration of society----and this will be happening on a global scale. No area of the planet (that's worth living in) will be unaffected.

jprizzle's picture

Whatever. Someone who doesn't have the same veiws as you may get that history lesson and blame somebody else then you for the problems. Like I said I don't care, but it is funny how the people in office at the time of a bad economy get blamed for it no matter what has happened before.

roidrage79's picture

Yep, Ron Paul was my choice too. Didn't stand a chance though, not enough publicity from the corrupt folks at Fox, NBC, CNN ect.

X2!!!

You think it's bad now, it's only gonna get worse.

jprizzle's picture

The thing that is making the economy even worse is companys saying the economy is bad. My work uses the hell out of that excuse. And they rent space to medical companys. My job has not lost 1 penny of rent from the economy being bad but they sure act like they do. My point is all these companys paying people less and cuttin jobs is what makes the economy bad. if they all stop spending money it is just a fucking circle.Who is gonna buy those $30000 -$40000 cars making 7.45 per hour? Any business that cuts pay or employees "because of the economy" is just contributing to the problem. Or they have no business and have to do it because of the companys that did it before them. short version is we are fucked either way .

nitrogains's picture

You are right that a strong middle class is required to have a resilient economy. I bet your company has more vacant properties now than before the "great recession" so your company’s bottom line has been impacted.

jprizzle's picture

nope not at all . in the last 4 years it has been getting fuller. it is at the highest capacity ever right now. there is talks of another building being built.
The one im in is .6 miles long and 3 stories high. its huge.

Greg's picture

Companies don't sit on their money. It is in the market. If their portfolio drops, much less their own stock, they have to factor in the long range effects it has on their growth. With the government doubling the capital gains tax, the expiration of the tax cuts, the uncertain costs of health care, the devaluation (over printing) of the US dollar, cost of any pension plans, the threat of hyperinflation when the Feds are forced to start raising interest rates, etc, etc...

Yea, I'd be playing it safe too.

7gothic's picture

Anyone who says the economy is bad has only scratched the surface.......it's not bad---it's collapsing. And there will be no recovery.
Keep your eye on Greece and Spain and watch what happens there. Those two will simply be a warm-up for what's coming to America.
Enjoy life while you can Bros, because the one you knew is about to change drastically.

nitrogains's picture

As long as Americans keep believing in the bull$hit that government can do no wrong and it can take care of us just like mom and dad we are well on our way.

I was looking for that video you posted a couple months ago "Were all screwed". Can't find it
