Let’s say someone gets very used to having a lot of cocaine, or heroin, or buckets of 10mg Valium (damn that would be great lol), and all of a sudden they have to go in without that stuff. They’ll be pissed, unhappy, but life will go on and probably a better life. Now take someone that has money. Big houses, expensive cars, buckets of gold coins instead of that Valium, and they lose it all and have to live like a pauper. Many people will literally do whatever it takes to keep that lifestyle going, up to including ruining and taking the lives of others. Our political system is completely broken on many levels.
