We need to have more attention focused on mental illness in this country and I'm not just attacking the OP. We have a society today that is being raised on social media and screens, they have no male role models and parents are doing a terrible job because they themselves are a product poor parenting. We see so much wasted energy and blame placed on gun violence when guns and even fully automatic weapons have been in our society legally forever. The problem starts with how one is raised and its getting increasingly more difficult to provide mental health services to those who need it because they want to avoid the stigma and being labeled as mentally ill. There are also a host of consequences for being treated for mental health issues and people want to avoid that but its at their own peril and the victims they harm.
