+ 3 BFG, we gotta do something about the review process

ad

Generally when there's a problem that keeps on reoccurring, it means there's a problem in the process. The current review layout vs requirements do not reflect each other, for example..

*Overall experience: *
My experience was good
This to the people who have been on this site for years seems logical but for a new member, this does no require anything more than a 4 word explanation.

*Quality of products: *
with underline note: ITEMS ORDERED, PRODUCT EFFECTIVENES, RESULTS
Test E, Winstrol, Tren, shit was fire, feel great, got strong
Again, this doesn't prompt for specifics.

The problem is, we can't expect people to find the 'how to post a review' post, many people come here and they just want to post a review and then when their review gets tore up, they say "fuck this site" and move on. In my personal opinion the current review requirements and the review layout need to be addressed and simplified to the point where you can't get it wrong. It's beneficial for the site members, for the sources and for eroids. There's no benefit to my current review page having 15 reviews on the front page that do not meet the standard. Even with the PM notification and the critiques/instructions, etc, it's just not enough.
I would rather do away with the review pages altogether then to have a review page that looks like the one I have now and we're #3 US domestic currently. Our customer base is there, these reviews do not help or hurt us when it comes down to it but I do feel like it hurts eroids as a whole and especially the younger sources.

Good evening it's been a while since I've been on the boards. It was wild back in the day. Always with respect. So Greg or anyone help me out sending a PM to BFG. TKS for any help.

As a eroids member and overall vet to the game …. I hardly read reviews in great detail. As I am aware many of the effects are also mitigated or aggravated by Genetics, Diet, Baseline health/vitals, Age, training and sleep schedules. While the reviews are a great starting for new comers on how much volume the source is shipping in a recent snap shot there’s much more homework to be done.

  1. How long has the source been in business
  2. How is the overall mood and discussion in the SI? And Who are the members ?
  3. Can you find the source reviewed or tested outside of eroids ? How do they fare?
  4. I look for other pertinent data like how is the brew? Solvent heavy? Minimal pip? Viscous or thin oil?
  5. Any recent blood work posted?
  6. if it’s international how many are complaining of seizures or LLs.
  7. Pricing, t/a and responsiveness of source… how do they treat customers when there is in an issue.
  8. If avail 3rd party testing on Primo, Tren Hex. Sust and the sources blends. This should be #1

Write good reviews, read reviews but there’s a lot more to it for me when selecting a source l.

BFG has made a change to the review pop up, so now there really is no excuse.
1.
When writing a review, include at least the following:
How do you feel on this stuff, tired, horny, aggressive, no change?
How much weight and/or size did you gain?
How is your appetite?
Body fat up or down?
PIP, Acne?
Other changes you've noticed.

Could you pin an example review to the top of the feed like how YouTube creators pin comments?

My last review is a good example of how they should be written.

Very good point, over moderation is also a way to kill a site.

Makwa's picture

I was flagging probably at least 6+ reviews a day because they were garbage. Greg seemed to be cool with it since I never got a PM saying quite making so much work for me. Lol

Makwa's picture

I took a break from doing it but I'll get back on it.

UncleYoked's picture

I agree, I suggested something like that in the source group as well. Maybe even just a space for the 3 highest rated reviews in the current period followed by everything else. That way they don't overshine the newer reviews

killroy's picture

Some sources are here today, gone tomorrow. I prefer most recent reviews over “best” reviews. Show me third party lab testing, show me blood work, show me the package arrived, show the product. I could give a fuck all if you write a review like Hemingway. Just because you wrote a illustrious review does not make it so. My .02 cents.

Don’t tell me what kind of review I want. Lol. It’s not one size fits all. Like I said I give credence over a bunch of new reviews from reputable members than one that was written months ago that goes into bro science detail . All AAS accrue muscle at relatively the same rate. The anabolic:androgenic ratio is old and antiqued science. We are in 2022. Many on this site parrot broscience from 20 years ago.

I think most are good people who just wanted to compliment the sources and express their appreciation, at least for us. Despite all this ruckus, I actually don't care about reviews so long as they're legit, positive, negative, whatever but the customers do care. I've been pushing good reviews for the betterment of eroids for the last 2 or 3 months because I have noticed a sharp decline in well written reviews amongst a lot of sources.
If I was paying for reviews, believe me I would have given them a solid outline on exactly what to write, it'd be a science.... wonder if I could hire these guys on fiver.... Biggrin

UncleYoked's picture

I can see what you're saying but if things don't change the most recent reviews will just be a mess while the good reviews are buried. Ideally all the reviews would be quality but 2022 just isn't having it. Check out my review page, you have to go to page 3 or 4 to find complete reviews, even the reviews that aren't fully flagged, probably should be

UncleYoked's picture

It's right here on our main FAQ page, doesn't help. https://titans.to/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=4
I'm more convinced the only way to get a steady flow of well written reviews, is by quid pro quo, which I don't do and used to be against the rules but it seems like the rules have changed a bit on that, I'm honestly not even sure anymore. I may just go back to not caring about the review process altogether and let it run it's natural course but I truly believe the way things are now is hurting eroids as a whole.

UncleYoked's picture

I've got examples posted on our faq page with direct link to that exact post.
I send numerous emails with examples of well written reviews.
It just doesn't happen and it's because people don't read either, they register, click review and post what they think the site is asking for.

We're coming in to a generation in instant gratification. For me, having this unlimited amount of knowledge at the tip of my fingers was a tool for learning but now it's just used for quick entertainment. Bring back the 80s

I suggested this as well in the src group Biggrin

I really don't think people even read the pop up that comes up when they go to write a review. I think 2. could be expanded upon. That is the heart of the reviews. Give me numbers on how much muscle you gained, how many pounds on your bench, etc. yet all I see is gear is fyre and GTG. Read the damn directions at least

*2. NON RELEVANT AND PARTIAL REVIEWS WILL BE DELETED.

A review should be relevant. We don't need know you've placed an order. Or read "gtg received my stuff". Review should be your full experience, that includes everything from your first contact, to the gains you're making with the products.

People are lazy writing reviews. When I see a sources review page filled up with 1 line reviews it leads me to believe fake accounts and shills trying to bump up the source. Refreshing to see a well written review every once in awhile.

This is a steroid review site so I don't think we can get rid of the review pages. Lol

UncleYoked's picture

Haha, I know we can't get rid of them, it's necessary but damn I wish this process wasn't such a pain in the ass. Even Rusty has to get tired of downvoting all the reviews on eroids.
But you hit my point exactly, my page looks like I underpaid a bunch of people to write crap reviews when in reality, the customers mean well and their intention is just to show their appreciation but they're just not aware of the reviewing process. I don't think they deserve to be insulted or ridiculed even for a bad review but I can see how the older members who are looking out for the best interest of eroids would get annoyed having to say the same thing 5x a day

Makwa's picture

The flood of all these crappy reviews, and not just on your review page, are from new members or members with 0-1 Karma which seems peculiar to me. Shills, fake accounts? They don't even post any comments in the SI. Usually they go to the SI to do some nuthugging to go along with their junk review, but I don't even see that. Just write a poorly written review right off the bat.
You can hardly find a review anywhere with someone above 10 karma.

UncleYoked's picture

I personally think they shouldn't even be allowed to post a review unless they have enough karma and vote on the stars. Otherwise, it's just filler crap.
I doubt they're fake accounts, no benefit to anyone with those, they're just passers through.

I am a fairly new member (been here since 2020) and I got molested the other day by the review gang for not providing enough details in my latest reviews. After my profile was vandalized I got mad and stopped coming here for a month but the quality of the forum content is just too good to pass on. I have learned some things about gear and safety on this forum that I would not have been able to anywhere else so I'm back.

I agree with Uncle that the review form could be improved as right now it is a free form textbox and people can write anything they want in it. Maybe if it had more structure like if you had to click on a (+) sign to add a product that you used and another form or sub-form appeared that fields with names like: Product Name, Dosage, Duration, Effect/Quality

It’s all part of the process to weed out those that received too many participation trophies growing up. Good job. You passed. Lol

UncleYoked's picture

Exactly and I'm sorry you had to deal with that. They mean well but there is a tough love mentality on this site from the guys who have been around for 5+ years. They feel it's their duty to protect the fortitude of eroids and as true as it may be, sometimes they do take it a bit far with the constructive criticism

Tommyb916's picture

I do agree with the tough love aspect. I’ll admit it was hard to pull the wool over a couple of the vets heads because up until joint the site and trying to give input I realized how quickly I was trading one addiction for another. At the end of the day though reading through these countless threads provides more self awareness; I do have the big brother syndrome where I want someone to grab me under their wing but comfort my fall ):
