scram monitors and benzyl alcohol

ad

Hey guys, so I was curious if anyone knew anything about scram monitors and benzyl alcohol. I recently came off a cycle and I'm still running GH, which you all
May know bacteriostic water has benzyl alcohol in it. Now let me tell you what a scram monitor is for those who may not know, it's an alcohol detection device, strapped around my ankle. Im on probation and because I drank they put this on me, to keep me from drinking/constantly test me for alcohol. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with these and being on cycle. I can't seem to fin much on the internet about scram monitors and benzyl alcohol. From my understanding there testing for ethyl oleat actual alcohol. Benzyl alcohol metabolizes as I believe benzoic acid so I don't see where there could really be a problem with it. Oh and the monitor takes a seat reading every thirty minutes for this who didn't know. Sooo that all being said...I would love and appreciate feed back. hopefully some people with experience can throw in there experiences.

Thanks

Funny that this thread popped up on my screen.

But that now brings up the question of hand sanitizer in our new covid (I've got to sanitize my hands every 5 minutes) world.

FTR (for the record): I very seldom sanitize my hands, except at the shopping cart pickup station, then almost everytime.

it will more than likely register, yes, but, your not drinking alcohol, and there is a difference, i would not stress over it, deoderant, aftershave, cologne and even hair spray set them off, mouth wash like listerine and other things off that nature set them off, even your swabs probably will.

they cant prosecute you if you havent drank, and by doing bloods they will confirm the difference.

Not in the US of A, if the device goes off, you can see the judge.

Yep...

I'm thinking the BA content in a 1, 2, or 3ml shot is so negligible that it won't set off the SCRAM device if even detects BA. If it were liquor, you wouldn't even have enough for a quarter of an ounce. It's too small to be detected when spread out in your bloodstream by the time it's absorbed.

Agreed

So the scram monitor is measuring ur sweat and it measures ETOH (ETHYL ALCOHOL)?
Is this right?

Newguy14's picture

On the scram website it says it detects alcohol, doesn't specificly say what kind, I have heard it detects all, I hear it can tell the difference. My probation officer said stear clear of ethyl oleate. But honestly she is new and doesn't know much about it, so I don't want to go off what she says

kodiakGRRL's picture

You should stear clear of EO ..

MedDx's picture

When u get it off..i bet you will be happy...lol!!
I bet it has to be a certain amount. U know those officers put them on and go home and drink.a 12 pack, or what ever, just to see how they work...right? So since ur officer is a lady..what is ethyl oleate in...lotion...moisturizer...shaving cream...i wonder...like he said above its gonna be broken down so small...

KMC's picture

" So since ur officer is a lady..what is ethyl oleate in...lotion...moisturizer...shaving cream..."

Also some UGL use them in STEROIDS.

This being a steroid (source/lab) review site,.......... kinda the elephant in the room.

But i agree with flacidego...by the time the 1cc broke down...it may not register...could be a new thing po's are doing...be nice to tell the po yeah its lotion, or whatever....have to look and see what all EO is in...u know

fusebox's picture

It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose again. Lol

Its something new cuz the radioimmunoassay tests cant test for aas...all the po's that i have had use a strip u put in ur mouth and it turns green on the end if u been drinkin alcohol..sounds like that scram is specifically designed for aas with ethyl oleate...

KMC's picture

No, probably just an alcohol Test, the EO is a product or by product produced by the body in the of elimination of alcohol. The fact some UGL use EO as a carrier oil may be coincidental.

ETA: A test that showed you had EO in your system,......... wouldn't prove steroids.

Thats true. Plus i did some reading and found.out some EO is used in cosmetics. That could.be why she emphasized it. I pulled up a post off of here thru.google from 2012. A member was asking same question.

MedDx's picture

Oh i know...thats why i was saying.... why would she say that...unless he is being watched for steroids.. its just puzzling me.u know...lol

Newguy14's picture

But yes med, the braclet has a peice of metal that conducts a reading of your sweat. And from what I understand it's just reading for alcohol. Wich in my eyes is anything that has ethyl oleate. I'm worried isle benzyl would maybe cause a false positive reading or anything of the such.

flacidego's picture

..double post

flacidego's picture

I think your PO probably mentioned ethyl alcohol, which is grain alcohol. Not ethyl oleate. Correct me if I'm wrong.

KMC's picture

Your body breaks down ethyl alcohol,........ one of the by product is EO.

Google is your friend.
