Preggo GF Problems

ad

Ok guys I need some advice from my eroid bros…Just found out my GF is pregnant. I’ve known by her symptoms for a few weeks. We went to the Dr. and got conformation but they aren’t completely sure how far along yet…Thing is she has completely freaked out, resents me and has pushed me away. Talking about needing time to think, doubting us, not happy about it and shit. I’m 34 and have 2 children from my previous marriage & she is 22 w/no kids. We have discussed getting married and starting a family of course we didn’t plan on a kid so soon. She also has some depression problems and has had to quit her cigs, coffee, Mt. Dew, Zoloft all cold turkey on top of these pregnancy hormones….I’ve tried to be supportive and tell her I am here. I love this girl. What should I do? I’m thinking all I can do is just back off, let her know I am here and let things play out on their own. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd give her time my man. I think giving a ring now would be just too much pressure. She's got a lot on her plate having to give up habits and its stressful. I wish you the best man I hope in the end the both of you are happy. Good luck I wish you guys good health.

Get a ring. Set up a romantic date and propose.

She already knows that's coming bro.

I didn't quit drinking coffee. and of course she's freaked because if she has any sense at all she realizes that life as she knows it has ended.

Lol that's dark. I understand where you are coming from though. Kids change life but not end it. Maybe for better or worse.

IMO back off a little, let things settle a bit and dont pressure anything.

She is only 22, yes many are more mature than others, but at that age it sometimes takes a little while for rational thinking to set in.

Hope all works out for ya bro, Im sure it will, these things have a way of working themselves out.

Quitting Zoloft cold turkey will mess her emotions all up, and that extra stress from it is not healthy either. I hope she didn't make that decision on her own, without a physician's advice. Stopping a med like that is traumatic on the body and dangerous if she is pregnant. It could take months for her to get right.

Hey bro. Her Dr. told her to quit until he said otherwise. I felt the same as you..brought it up & got my head bit off.

The Dr that put her on the zoloft or the gyno Dr.?

yeah man, pregnancy is a big deal so she's probably freaked out, i don't know what the future of you two will hold but just let her know you're there for her and your kid... on a side note, score on your young gf! haha

It'll work out bro. My wife was the same way when we were first pregnant. Unfortunately she had a miscarriage due to her Blood Type (A-) which fought off the baby. We didn't know about this at the time, but yeah...

Not trying to talk about myself here. Anyway, she'll come around. Like everyone else has said, just be supportive and I would say NOT be confrontational about it. Women are like that. Just show her you love her; maybe take her out on some nice dates if you both have any free-time.

To reiterate what sleepy said being there for her is the best advice. Give her space but do not ignore. The hardest thing for you to do is sit by and watch her in her pain. But even harder to do will be to not text her or badger her because of your insecurities. The other hard part will be to listen to her try and explain her fears and concerns about the relationship because it may not be what you want to hear but listen like a friend who cares about her best interest. She just might realize what a good friend she has and decide to stay.

The hardest thing to do and most often the thing you must do, is DO NOTHING! I don't mean ignore I mean shut up and listen and be there for her. Again every time you want to text of email or call DO NOTHING! Now three people have said basically the same thing.

man, real life happens... I say back off let her know how you feel and if you were meant to be she will come back around.. I'm the type of person that thinks everything will work itself out..

good luck
