+ 1 PDiddy situation...not good

ad

This subject is a bit off topic but I'm sure lately you guys have heard about Mr. Puffy aka PDiddy getting his houses raided by the Feds and Dept of HomeLand Security...not good. For those that don't know it's NOT GOOD when both come knocking at your door. Feds have over a 90% conviction rate!!! Yea you read that right. So far it's reported by law enforcement they're looking into just sex trafficking at present time. So what I noticed was PDiddy and his group of famous buddies seem to act feminine and engage in weird sexual activities so I figured since I read some comments on male feminism that I would combine the two topics. I don't judge but I do know that alot of men today are definitely more feminine than in the past and if men were feminine in the past they clearly didn't show it as much as some men do nowadays. Crazy situation man. I know alot of you guys workout to PDiddy's music!!

pingree24's picture

I guess I worded it poorly sorry, it was redrafted so to speak to add new tenants/gentiles and abolish animsl sacrifice.

DeeMan's picture

Exactly. Redrafted but still referred to as New. But some tend to think it's just a renewal when it's clearly said to be a new replacement of the Old.

pingree24's picture

What does that mean though, the old law? It's still the same law it hasn't changed.

The ten commandments are the table of contents for the law

The first 4 teaches you how to love and obey God

The last 6 how to love your neighbors

They summarize the entire law

DeeMan's picture

Lol but the key word is it was said to be obsolete. We can't argue against that. Yes both are similar and similarly rooted in blood but are 2 different covenants.

Lol some folks are panicking from what I've seen when it comes to this eclipse.

pingree24's picture

Yes, the old covenant not the law.

The law is still here and in full effect.

The sacrificial system has changed. Thus a new covenant

Owes a Review × 3 In a promo × 2
DeeMan's picture

So ok we agree it's New and not renewal of Old Covenant. Hebrews 8:7-9. And yes 10 commandments are kept.

pingree24's picture

@DeeMan
Yes, of course you will never read me saying we are in the original covenant.

The law is still in effect though.

Let me ask you a question

Are you allowed to drink blood?

Is it OK to be homosexuals in yahs eyes?

Those are both in the torah of things not to do and not in the ten commandments.

so if it's the old law and the law is done away with and it's only the 10 commandments that matter than why are we still not allowed to do it?

Because the law is perfect and not done away with only the original covenant was.

If you are a landlord and you're bringing in new tenants you write up a new lease/covenant

That's what the new covenant is, gentiles were welcomed into the olive tree that was Israel. They were grafted in.

The animal sacrifice was abolished and new tenants moved in. So yes a new covenant needed to be put into place

Owes a Review × 3 In a promo × 2
DeeMan's picture

Right. It's just when you said renewal of Old Covenant it kind of threw me off. Some folks will say it's a renewal.

pingree24's picture

@DeeMan
Ok, so we are on the same page now? When it says obsolete it means the covenant not the law.

The new covenant isn't replacing the law but adding in gentiles and abolished the animal sacrifice system.

There is no old law or new law it's just God's law which is perfection

Obeying the Old Law alone cannot save anyone

pingree24's picture

Exactly correct. You will not be saved by the law

We live under Chrust and not the Old Law. Yes something s from the Old Law are to be honored. That is basically the reality of the situation

pingree24's picture

We love christ with all our hearts and how do we show it?

With obedience to God's laws.

Thus turning us from sinners to saints in the process.

Faith has always been what saved you not the law

Use Abraham as an example he had so much faith he was going to sacrifice Issac.

What Im saying is the Old Covenant was replaced clearly by the new covenant. Certain things such as animals sacrifice isn't something that we do under current r Old Law.

@pingree24
You criticize my faith as being wrong, lesser than, and lacking. In a rather passive aggressive way. No one is calling for the doing away with the sabbath. You are not hearing me. Where have I said ritual, community, and ceremony was not important? Where have I said I didn't go to Easter mass?

It's a new covenant. And clearly states as much. Over and over again. It's not renewed.

Tell me, if on the fourth day - the Sun, Moon and stars were created. What was the measure of a day up to that point if we are to take "Day" to literally mean the 24-hour rotation of the sun around the earth? The Calander has changed through the millennia, The Hebrews see sunset as the start of a new day, (not midnight) and those using the Gregorian calendar view the sunrise as the new day. At some times the year had 10 months, other times 13. In Genisis God gave us light and dark and celestial bodies to keep track of time. The measure of time is a manmade construct and a tool. Seriously, do you think God cares about the day or time? If I stuck you in a room where you could not keep track of the days and hour, would God frown upon you for keeping sabbath on Wednesday at 3am?

[While Jesus himself did not make a final break with the Sabbath, he so weakened it in the minds of his followers that they found it natural to move from worshipping on the Sabbath—a day of restrictions —to Sunday, a day associated with the joyous freedom brought about by the resurrection of Jesus.] (Sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.)

You're stuck in the old law so much so that you are chastising those that don't interpret the law as you do. Man had to learn to crawl before he could walk. the old law was to give us discipline and structure, much like a Kata which instills disciplined movements into muscle memory. the movements become instinctive and are done without thinking. The new law gives us the spirit and grace. built upon the old law. liberating us from a master servant relationship with God and turning it into a dance. A union. Jesus was the ultimate sacrificial lamb to cleanse us of our sins once and for all. God dwells within us. Everyday thoughts and actions are directed toward God.

"I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” --Jeremiah 31

Hebrews 8:13
In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

notice the fading of the old covenant, this isn't instantaneous, it is a process still in motion. There is a pouring out, not a deluge

2 Corinthians 3:6
Who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

I'm not taunting you Greg I'm asking you questions.

No, you are challenging my belief. (with the one taunt) you have from the start, every question asked was followed with a, "Yeah, but..." to cast a little shade on my faith or belief. You crossed the line with your relentless pagan digs and the continual, disdainful, calling out of the failings of the church.

How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,' when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye?

News flash, all religions including the Jewish faith have failings. The Jewish faith is as splintered as the Christian faith has. They are a reflection of man, just as guilty of sin, and just as worthy of grace. It is good you go to the scripture to glean knowledge directly, but you need the community to gain understanding and create a "scaffold" to keep you grounded. Religion is participatory. You experience God through your fellow man.

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them"

So, no matter how "Flawed" you perceive my church to be, or any other. It's better to be a part of one than a hermit in the desert.

pingree24's picture

@Greg
The sun,moon and stars where placed on the 4th day to dictate time.

The sabbath came after the 4th day "which you know" to tell the time on earth

Genesis 1:14
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years

Man came on the 6th day when time was already set.

I follow the bible and only the bible to the best of my abilities not men.

The hebrew calendar goes back almost 6000 years and the sabbath has never changed.

Yes, the romans at one point had 8 day weeks and 13 month yrs but other countries and peoples aren't what we are discussing its the Hebrews and there belief

I've not made up or told one lie in this entire discussion sir.
I've backed everything with scripture.

We are here to reproof eachother if there is fault are we not? I don't have a plank in my eye I'm not the one explaining away and justifying pagan holidays.

Now I could quote the one verse from Peter but that would just make yiu upset about Paul's writings and I feel that's unfair to you because I see you've the spirit.

Either way greg I'm done with this conversation because I fell you're making this a little to personal and I'm only here to talk and help eachother grow.

Again have a blessed day brother. I hope you consider us brothers in Christ because I do.

@pingree24

We are here to reproof each other if there is fault are we not

No, we are not. We were here to talk about the possibility of life on other planets. Not to be "reproofed" for celebrating a "pagan" holiday. But I will reproof your Gross characterization of Easter as celebrated by Christians.

I also will also reproof your round and round insistence that I'm dismissing the sabbath and all of the other commandments.

And finally, I reproof your attempt to evangelize your "nondenominational", hybrid, Judeo-Baptist Desert Hermit with an uncounseled belief of 5 short years. Seek out a rabbi, check your hubris.

Neither of us are wrong in our approach to worshipping God.

If a house burns down can not a new house be built in the same location? Why is it in your mind that Easter as celebrated by Christians somehow pagan because it shares the same date as an Archaic pagan holiday? If BillyBob was born on Easter, is he pagan for celebrating his birthday on easter?

In spite of the fact that I've told you several times and quite firmly I find your reference to Easter as being a pagan holiday offensive. Instead of holding your tongue in respect of my faith, or apologizing for the unintended slight, you persist with the insult of one of our holiest days, even to the end.

I don't have a plank in my eye I'm not the one explaining away and justifying pagan holidays.

Really?

pingree24's picture

@Greg
I'm sorry I offended you ok bud, honestly.

You're not being snarky in any of your replies? Really?

I've been a Christian since I was a young man well over 20 yrs.

But it's fine you can insult me I don't have thin skin.

The last 5 yrs have been the best of my life and that's all due to yahuah and his blessing for my faith & obedience to his torah.

The conversation grew and we touched on a lot of subjects brother.

Regardless easter is nowhere in the bible except one verse in the kjv which was a mistranslation and was meant to be passover that's why literally everyother bible in the world says passover.
The pagans worshipped a fertility goddess thus the eggs ect now

We both know Christmas isn't in there as well.

I was just talking biblical facts and I upset you in the process and I'm sorry I hope you can forgive me.

I also said you and yours instead of us & our a lot so it made it seem like a personal attack but it wasn't.

And I do go to assembly and that was rude of you to imply that I am a hermit.

I've been a Christian alittle more then 20 yrs with me being torah observing for 5years.

And there is only one rabbi and that's yahusha hamashiach

I mean technically are we supposed to celebrate birthdays?

ecclesiastes 7:1
A good name is better than precious ointment,
And the day of death than the day of one’s birth;

I'm not against birthdays but it's not ordained by yah.

Do you accept my apology greg can you forgive me? I'm sorry brother.

I'll try and not slight your religion and upset you.

@pingree24

You're not being snarky in any of your replies? Really?

Yes, I got snarky and rude when you failed to pick up the fact I was feeling insulted. You also sidestep the meaning of my analogies and then try to pick apart the analogy as not conforming to religious text. You seriously think that my point was that a birthday was or was not "Ordained" by God? and supposed to be in the bible? It was trying to show that the date and the practices on that date do not conflate to mean that they are related. Christian Good Friday and Easter are NOT a celebration of Ostara and it is an insult to insist that it is no matter "how it's dressed up".

Furthermore: The pagan holiday is Celebrated during the spring equinox. Easter is the first Sunday that follows the first full moon after the spring equinox. It also lands on our sabbath day. And is the 3rd day after good Friday which commemorates his death on the cross.

Easter is more aligned with the Passover holiday than a little-known pagan goddess. That makes sense considering that at that time Christians shared the same traditions as the Jews. Co-opting their celebrations.

DeeMan's picture

Church of Christ doesn't celebrate any holiday, especially Christmas. We know The Old Covenant does not supersede the New as both are important and should be looked at that way. Many people tend to put great emphasis only on the Old but unfortunately that's a mistake that would be false doctrine in itself. One cannot exist without the other. Prediction and Fulfillment go hand and hand.

pingree24's picture

Exactly, they complement eachother. Our foundation should be the old with us being saved by the new, and that's what we grow from.

If we all obeyed those commandments/laws the world would look a lot better.

We are living during the falling away and its very evident.

I'm glad that you are part of a church that's reawakening to the truth.

It says in matthew 22:14
For many are called, but few are chosen.

I believe you are on a good path D but it's always good to grow together with conversations just like this one.

You're looking at a lot of people who think they're making it but are not. All because they have been fooled into unsound doctrine.

Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; in so much that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Matthew 5:18-19

18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one [a]jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven

I dont know about you but I wanna be declared great.

Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

DeeMan's picture

@pingree24 I have to agree with you about the Catholic doctrine not being sound, but I can say that applies to a few Christian denominations as well.You know what I'm saying I'm sure. So what is your denomination? You seem to know alot of things and I admit you reminded me of a few of those things.

pingree24's picture

@DeeMan
I am non denominational
Messianic hebrew roots
My assembly is devoted to yah assembly

I was a southern Baptist growing up then I started asking questions and really reading my Bible and slowly started observing the torah because of my faith and love for yahusha hamashiach "jesus"

Then I always wondered why we never used God's name then I started reading strongs concordance and realized that hallelujah means praise Yah then it spiraled from there and I wanted to learn as much as possible

My story is one of a very long and slow walk to the place I'm at in my life.

This is the best I've ever felt physically and spiritually. My cup is no longer half full.

I honestly feel yah has blessed me in this lifetime with the good and bad expirencies and its lead me back to him with more faith and love than ever before.

I think this is a great platform to have great open discussions to help eachother grow and make our faith stronger. I've really enjoyed the last few days talking with you & greg

This is between you two but I'll just say this...I'm sure we can agree on this..I'm speaking in general. What I see in folks is ALOT of interpretation, which maybe right or wrong. I think Man wants to know the answer to everything but the problem is it wasn't meant for man to know the answers to everything. Yes some things we have clear answers to and other things not so much. Good night my man.

Greg's picture

It's like a movie, you aren't meant to know everything all at once. Partly because it takes the joy out of it, partly because you're not ready yet. The seed metaphor describes perfectly the unfolding of understanding.

Of course, man is not to know everything, to know everything is to be God.
It's like a particle and a wave. Look at God, as the particle, and god is a singularity, no beginning, no end, infinite and timeless. Look at him as a wave and he is a multitude of potential manifestations. Full of anything that can be imagined. We are quite literally the body of God.

My name is Legion: for we are many. --Mark 5:9

If we put ourselves above God, (as modern spiritualism is want to do) by removing the godhead from the universe. Then the Religion is gone, we become many.

The word "religion" originally derived from the Latin word "religo" which means "good faith," "ritual," and other similar meanings. Or it may have come from the Latin "religãre" which means "to tie fast."

I pray we all tie ourselves fast.

That's exactly what it comes down to. That's it! Selling your soul. But see what they fail to understand is nothing is hidden in dark forever. I've seen this type of thing over and over. Man I remember a murder case that was unsolved for 25 years. The 3 brothers that committed that crime were so bothered by what happened that they all turned themselves in to the police at the exact same time. It was a strange situation because the case was at a long standstill and all of a sudden that happens. I say that to say everything comes back around eventually. I truly believe that.

Strong men are a threat to evil. Look at the shit they put in food, no reason young men in their 20’s should have test levels of what was considered normal for 60 year old men 20/30 years ago. I just talked to a guy we did a job for, he’s 35 years old and his test levels were barely over 200. I’ve had multiple friends ask their primary about getting test levels checked to be refuted “I don’t think you need it”….now if you’re a guy wanting to be a girl or girl wanting to be a guy, they would set the wheels in motion for you no questions asked. They want weak men that pose no threat and offer no resistance.
