+ 1 Boxing politics once again huh? We are the suckers

ad

Well well well @Bill1976 here we go again with the politics of boxing. This is getting rediculous man. It's pure and simple..the BEST AREN'T FIGHTING THE BEST...PERIOD! Us pure boxing fans were supposed to have already seen Crawford vs. Spence along with many other top fights, now Usyk and Fury fight fell out. It's crazy man. I understand money plays a part but what about legacy? Even Roy Jones said nowadays this a a big problem. Back in the 80's and 90's the best fought the best regardless and the promoters didn't get in the way of that, hell in fact they encouraged it.

DeeMan's picture

@Gorillakingz I'm responding to your comment to me on your SI. So man your boy Wilder...I don't know what to say! And you think Wallin just didn't come to fight or Joshua did?

Gorillakingz's picture

I think wilder is 200% finished. I don’t think he even wants to fight anymore. Joshua looked great if I’m being honest moved well punch selection was excellent wallin I don’t know man but it was sad

DeeMan's picture

Yeah Wilder is 38 and he's not the same but he's got nothing to prove, I just wish he would of fought Joshua years ago but Joshua ran so that's not on Wilder. And yea Wallin didn't look like the same fighter who fought Fury...not even close. So I don't know either. But there were some good fights.

JakeKO's picture

Parker is doing a great job

DeeMan's picture

Overall last night was good for boxing. Alot of damn good fights.

JakeKO's picture

Absolutely, although I didn’t realize it was taking place in Saudi Arabia, so I tuned in so late that I only got to watch the last two fights. I paid for it, so I can go back and watch it, but today and tomorrow are too hectic with the holidays.. I’m sure everyone would prefer watching football today and tomorrow.

DeeMan's picture

Yea go back and watch it. It was a good fight card for sure. Alot of times boxing does get boring with lack of action I admit, but this wasn't. I was surprised by those fights.

DeeMan's picture

Who ya got jakeko?

JakeKO's picture

Joshua

DeeMan's picture

So you got Joshua and Wilder? Ok.
They both better win lol

JakeKO's picture

The fights started early tonight. Joshua and Wallin are about to fight right now

JakeKO's picture

Wilder already lost

DeeMan's picture

I'll be damned! Wilder messed up his big payday. But hey he never had boxing skills. A little bit surprised though but Parker is better now then he was when he was a champion

DeeMan's picture

Yea he's pretty solid. If he can stay away from Wilder's right hand he's good. He can probably outbox Wilder

RazorRambo24's picture

Gervonta fought Ryan , Haney fought Loma, Eroll Spence Jr fought Crawford, what more can you ask for? The heavyweights are a snorefest anyways.. Soon we'll see Shakur Stevenson and Haney or some other super match

but anyways boxing is so boring in comparison to other combat sports.. UFC has been killing it the past few years.

DeeMan's picture

Fights happened but you forgot to mention how long all those fights took to even make happen and boxing fans will tell you that. Case in point..Spence vs Crawford...lol c'mon man. And even Mike Tyson said that Stevenson and Haney should of fought long ago. I agree with Mike.

Ufc is good but I gotta go with boxing.

JakeKO's picture

You’ve definitely got me liking boxing more than ever. My wife actually called Parker at the beginning of the fight. I took Wilder. She’s rubbing it in now, LOL

DeeMan's picture

O yeah? Man Wilder better come on with it before he mess up his big payday. Might have some upsets tonight. But see the fact that these fights are happening is what I like. I was trying to tell those guys earlier that politics is bringing the sport down and those Arab organizations aren't having that..not when there's plenty of money to be made from boxing. Good for those guys overseas.

JakeKO's picture

Yeah, we’re definitely going to be watching a lot more boxing for sure. Stand up is my favorite part of UFC, so now that she’s really liking it too, I’m sure we’ll be going to some live fights soon. We live too close to Atlantic City to not take advantage of it

DeeMan's picture

Well you got me into bkfc so we're even lol. But man you're next to Atlantic City...that's the mecca of boxing.

JakeKO's picture

I can see there is a boxing event January 13th. I might have to buy these tickets if we don’t have any other obligations that day. My son might have a wrestling tournament that day

DeeMan's picture

That's cool. Damn must be nice

simonmagus84's picture

I agree

DeeMan's picture

@simonmagus84 you're really not a boxing fan so I can understand. Lol I guess Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Oscar Delahoya, and Dante Wilder are just imagining things huh? Nahh. The best haven't fought the best and if so it is taking or took awhile. Those guys I mentioned above would know. And there's a reason why these overseas fights are happening. Should be obvious, and Wilder made that clear.

DeeMan's picture

@JakeKO @simonmagus84 @Drexyl @Big tone and @Gorillakingz.
This saturday. No more politics. Just boxing. I saw what you said on your SI about me Gorilla Joe. I heard about that video.

DeeMan's picture

This whole card was set up quickly on short notice so no boxer will have their normal preparation time. Those damn American boxing promoters, one not working with the other because they don't like each other. The shit is rediculous to me. Us true boxing fans suffer and the Saudi organizers realize this.

simonmagus84's picture

This guy bivol is the real deal

I hope Joshua and wilder win so we finally get to see it.

Gorillakingz's picture

Should check out the video where Benavidez makes him look like a d level fighter in a spar

DeeMan's picture

Just saw an interview with Abel Sanchez, GGG's former trainer and he said that isn't surprising because his other fighters worked Bivol over during sparring at his gym. He says he would pick Bivol over Benavidez. He says Bivol too technical and moves..his words. Says Bivol's sparring and fighting are totally different. Abel also thinks Canelo beats Benavidez.

Gorillakingz's picture

That’s cool everyone entitled to opinion. I don’t respect Abel any longer after he threw ggg under the bus after canelo 2. Ggg made him and pulled some bitch shit

simonmagus84's picture

Who do predict will win this weekend? I think Joshua loses.

Gorillakingz's picture

I think Joshua will win by robbery or a late stoppage.

Wilder ko

Big baby I’m 50/50 on

Easy Bivol UD

Frank Sanchez

Filip hrgovic

Makhmudov by ko

DeeMan's picture

Lol I agree. Joshua wins. You a boxing guy.

simonmagus84's picture

Wallin is going to win

JakeKO's picture

Wallin got housed

DeeMan's picture

but he was positive Wallin would win lolol.
Well at least Joshua took care of business. I bet Wilder feeling bad right about now.

simonmagus84's picture

Nah not positive, I just wanted to put it out there. I’m passed we won’t see Joshua vs wilder but wilder is done. Hopefully fury will fight Joshua if he wins. Just the way the night was going I though we’d see another upset

DeeMan's picture

BOMMMMBBB SQUAAAADDD!!!!!

DeeMan's picture

He seems to think that Fury carried Ngannu. Not the case

simonmagus84's picture

Just like mayweather toyed with mcgregor

DeeMan's picture

Facts are facts man. Blame GGG

DeeMan's picture

I heard he through him under the bus but how? All he did was tell the truth. GGG is 100% to blame for losing. He challenged Canelo to a Mexican style fight but he was backing up the whole time and not listening to Abel. I told my buddy when we watched the first fight that Canelo can beat GGG if he went toe to toe with him and that happened the second fight. My buddies didn't believe me.

Gorillakingz's picture

I guess you’ll deny canelo vacating his belt to put ggg on the back burner for 5 years too

DeeMan's picture

Nah you're stating the obvious now. Of course Canelo pulled a chicken shit move by making GGG wait 5 years. That's why alot folks including me lost respect for him. This is the thing though, he didn't have to make him wait cause he still would of won a close fight. I'm not a canelo fan at all but he had GGG number. I was always a GGG fan.

Gorillakingz's picture

A trainer isn’t supposed to stand in front of the media and say shit like that no matter true or not. That’s corny. And I also don’t think canelo won the 2nd fight I scored it 6-6 I can accept 7-5 Tho. Let me guess you think canelo won first one too ?

DeeMan's picture

No Canelo lost the first fight. Why would I think he won? But he was called out to fight Mexican style for the second fight and did that while GGG was backing up most of the fight and that's facts...go back and watch the fight. No way GGG won but it was close. The fact that canelo was challenged to fight mexican style by a fighter who wasn't mexican pissed Canelo off clearly and I don't blame him. He did what he needed to do.

Gorillakingz's picture

6-6 I do agree ggg got beat at Mexican style for the first 6 rds….agree 100% but I think he won at same game last 6 rds just my opinion Like I said I could agree w 7-5 canelo but it was 8-4 9-3 all day ggg first fight

simonmagus84's picture

Your Bivol looking good

DeeMan's picture

GGG won first fight no doubt. Ok so is what I noticed in that fight, when Canelo would move or run away from GGG he was getting tagged by GGG left and right. But this is the thing..when he stopped running and stood still and fought toe to toe he got the better of GGG alot of times. Another thing is Canelo got tired. During that fight I told my buddies that Canelo can win if he stopped running and stand still. But yea Canelo lost first fight. Second fight GGG did come on late but it was too late. He gave away too many rounds.

DeeMan's picture

Benavidez did say that awhile back and Bivol didn't deny that he wasn't as good back then.
I'm sure it would be way more competitive now though
