Overreaction? Roid Rage? Or Justified....?
So I live with my wife-to-be in a town house in a pretty nice place, with normally nice people.
The two places next to us on either side of out place are void of tennates, one is the maintenance folks 'building' which is unoccupied from 5pm till 9am the next morning, and the other is the model 'home' which only rarely has people walking through, so really we live next to no one and love the peace and quiet, because that is how we roll.
There is one thing that get on my nerves however, the maintenance guys 3-4 days a week leave their fucking radio on blast in the place next to us, and I will hear this shit from when I get home till when I get up, sometimes it fucks with my sleep.
I am usually very chill, but this morning I snapped and brought it kindly to these peoples attention that I don't appreciate that radio being on all night for no fucking reason, I pay rent, they don't, we are the customer they are the business, that is how it goes.
mind you I have been cool and calm for 2 years now, because it was never this bad this often, so my question is......
am I in the right here?
I feel like an I had a moment of roid rage as I am on around a gram a week right now, but I also feel like its my right to bring it to their attention.

You are in the right, and you handled it appropriately. The fact that it annoys you has nothing to do with Roids. You would have been just as annoyed had you not been on roids.
Roid rage is if you would have simply gone over there and smashed the radio into a million pieces-- without first saying anything.
Totally justified! I'm just wondering why it took you two years to speak up? I'm sure you handled it much better than I would have! I had this problem before I bought my house. I lived in a duplex on the first floor. The guy upstairs would blast his music and pass out drunk! I have two small kids who's beds would vibrate from the bass. I'm not kidding! Obviously that didn't go over well. Ever seen a 4 & 5 year old so tired they can't do anything but cry? Plus to have my wife say "you better go do something"! Well that was enough to send me over the edge! I won't go into detail about how the conversation/situation went but Everytime he put his radio on after that he knocked on my door and asked if everything was ok! I could have called the cops or the landlord but where i'm from calling the cops isn't our knee jerk reaction.
Too bad you don't live near me. I could use you to take out my neighbor! lol..
I would complain to building management and if that gets you no where then like Tx says call the cops.
TxBigBoyDude my wife would of threw a fucking lawn chair through the window! I think you handled it very well cause that is complete bullshit. Honesty I would call the cops every night and report a noise disturbance until it stopped.
Wel if your paying rent your entitled to live in comfort as i am. I got 3 bad neighbors in my estate where i rent. But im lucky my neighborhood is calm and full of proffessional workers and i run my own property maintenance business so i know everyone in the park. But even though im renting ive set up stuff for the estate to make it better, neighborhood watch scheme, residents commitee, grass cutting contractors and i do a lot of maintenance for the folks around me.....often free. They all appreciate me and im diplomatic on all situations. They come to me if they got issues with rubbish been left out by neighbors, loud music, dogs fouling in gardens or communal areas ...all stuff like that. And its me that takes action to resolve the situation, and i will say in a diplomatic manner for all concerned. Stick with it ....IT IS YOUR RIGHT to live in peace and quiet and i think any decent normanl person unless there a pure scumbag will respect that. Hope it works out and you dont get anymore problems

I would be willing to bet that the maintenance crew is not allowed to "squat" in an unoccupied unit. I'd report them to their employers or to the association.

CleyonCompletely justifiable. I don't believe in "Roid Rage", but I do believe understand flying into a rage. If you didn't beat him to within an inch of his life, then I say you are completely rational.
You were right. I have the same issues with my neighbors, I've had moments where I wanted to yell at them but then I realize it would just escalate the problem. I'm always nice about it. So far it has worked out okay, but I think the issue here is common sense. People Don't always think about how their actions affect others, especially at 2 am! That is the major downside of renting or living in close space with others.

I think its justified. I have went off on a neighbor before for loud music. first time i told some of the people to tell them. then the second time i just walked in and turned it off myself. third and last time i went in and got in an argument. hasn't been loud since. i was always respectful but rude at the same time. it was 2 or 3 in the morning and i could hear the bass on my wall smh

yeah, I shouldnt have ever waited, this is not the first time I have had issues with these dudes, last time involved them parking in front of where I lived with their huge ford super duties, lifted to the max, the two of them used up 4 spots, and I went off, just trying to avoid eviction lol.
