Lake Fishing??
ad
So we got our fishing license today.. (yeah I'm excited ) seems it's gonna be a fishing packed summer...
I was wondering if anyone knows what type of Lake fish will be worth keeping for nutrition...if it's nutritious then the taste doesn't matter..I'll Cajun it up!!
There's a lake nearby that stocks brown trout?
Thought it would be great to have a little break on the grocery bill while at the same time having a good time fishing..
I looked at a few websites but seems their idea of good fishing is all about the taste and not much on nutrition
Lake fish never seemed to appeal to me but I can reconsider if it's nutritious. .

I fish regularly and honestly haven't bought fish in a long time but then it depends on the area you're in. Personally for me sac-a-lait (crappie for the northerners ) pronounced sock uh lay and bucket mouths or largemouth bass for most are my 2 favorites but we also have an. Abundance of redfish and specks (speckled sea trout) in my area. 30 minutes one way and I catch all the salt water fish I need and 30 minutes the other way and it's all fresh water, we call it sportsman's paradise. Usually when I cook it I Cajun it up to
That would be fantastic to have the best of both fish but however im in an area where the only option here is lake fish..I ejoy Cajun and blackened as well!!
Fish is great..there is a girl at my work who signed up and paid a trainer for a competition and it's in like 5 weeks, she's not close to ready at all and asked me what she should do..I mentioned adding fish and morning cardio, etc.. She says well I don't like fish!! Lol..She says do you think I can stil l place?? I say we'll it depends on who shows up!!
I told her next time she wants to enter a competition she should enter to win..not to place!! People that pick my brain for the hell of it piss me off!!
She's missing out on fish regardless of the competition. ..that's just more for me lol
Yeah that kinda funny as far as contest prep goes I mean fish is kind of a staple for that situation and way more tasty than chicken
but it better be big enough to fillet. I dont have the patience for little bony fish
what you need is a wunder boner...

No doubt brother I'm a filet man myself but some fish are better on the bone. Like when blue gill are big enough and such. It is a pain in the ass to eat through though I'll admit
Gotta love a man willing to fillet the catches..
Lucky for me my present bf enjoys all this stuff. So this is great because my xbf did not enjoy fishing or appreciate nature, however we did go fishing a few times with his father who was fond of fishing and when i noticed that he did not want to bait his own hook or handle the fish I should have canned his candy ass that day!!! When I met him he was cooking fish in the microwave haha I introduced him to baking it blackened style!! He baked from there on out..
So yeah lesson learned, it's silly for me to even think about a long term relationship with someone who doesn't enjoy nature...Aaaand the sex is wayyyy better now too!! Outdoorsman are where it's at ♡
Hell yea, sex is better in a tent.
or on the picnic table... or the hammock... or in a tall grassy meadow in the warm sun... or when skinny dipping under the stars... or when...
It sure is , as long as you stay clear of the uprooted tree roots haha
Fishing to me is a lot like hunting. It doesn't matter what you catch or shoot it's all about the quality time out in nature.
I fish a lot but don't eat a lot of fresh water fish but trout is my favorite. Rainbow, browns, etc. Walleye, bass, crappie, and sunfish/bluegill are suppose to be good to. Catfish is good as well. Just got back from fishing yesterday! Love it!
Well this is all good news!! I'm glad I asked!! Now that I plan to be eating most my keepers I'm kinda extra excited
and since we got our license yesterday we went to a small local lake for just a little while, didn't have much luck but a couple small blue gill and then weather set in but it was fun, did a few 12 Oz curls as well ; ) it's been a while for brewskys!!
I really just wanted to see what it was like after all these years to finally fish legally. .haha
I plan to outfish my boyfriend!! Bets will be made ; )
Usually you can go to the dnr website from whatever state you are fishing in and they will post a list of lakes that have known contaminates in it. But I agree with CB.
I'd have to say that just about any fish we catch in a clean lake is gonna be better than radio active pacific salmon, mercury laden atlantic salmon, or farm raised tilapia.
Lake trout, Kokanee, small mouth and large mouth bass!
All superior foods if you ask me.
bigmurphI eat alot of fish in my diet you have protien thats clean and omega 3 which is great and from the wild no omega 6 or hormones. So whatever it is will be good eating and a good time. Have fun out there.
Sorry I don't have nutrition facts I just know fish is a good diet choice.
Well that's good info...thanks
I'm about to throw my first cast of the year!!
I just don't want to be eating dirt..I'll pass on the carp ; )
bigmurphI don't blame you there
