The FIRST place you should be going after a workout is the kitchen (specifically, your blender).
100% agree with you on this bud ^^^ Fuel right after you train. I would take the Sauna...Hot Box over a hot tub any day...
I LOVE the hot tub. After a grueling workout if I cant get to one I will run a super hot bath and soak in it for as long as it takes or I turn into a prune. It's not good for your little swimmers but I have no plans to have kids anyways.
Fuck ya bro I wish I had one. I live out the hot tub dream in my whirlpool bathtub lol.... Yes because after you workout your muscles are so tight and the hot tub can ease them. It can prevent strains and speed recovery.
To be honest half the time I use the Jacuzzi and steam room is to see what girls are down their.
The other half is to sit my ass on the steam room chair to ease the occasional pip in my ass.
Dont know if it's my age but by the time I'm done I feel fuked and worn out, it's way to warm for me, I do like it but need a coldish shower to bring me round after.
Too much hot tubbing is bad for your testicles bro so I'd imagine it would be even worse if they're already atrophied from roid use.
Post workout cold / Luke wArm / cold...20 seconds each for a minute.....
Thats the one... proven to speed up recovery and in some cases totally disparage the onset of D.O.M.S. Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.
+3 brother
Yes, but again your question. Can you get the hot big boobed blondes in there with you? If not, I would rather suffer the consequences of the hot tub. : )
Depends how many big boobed blondes you got in there with ya bro.............. alone i see no point :/
the hot tubs at my gym are in the guys locker room or girls locker room...no co-ed :'( POINTLESS!!
RustyhookerOf course Its good. Blood flow is faster which transports nutrients. Helps remove some of the lactic acid. Stretch in tub too.
I heard ur makes ur penis little...
But on a real note, iFit is right, its very similar to a pitcher needing to ice their arm after a game...never heat
warlock123I wrap a cold towel around my muscles after each set, keeps the muscle at optimal performance.
They did a study on muscles performance in heat vs keeping it cool.
Personally I would avoid the hot tub after a hard workout. While working out you are stressing your muscle fibers and causing trauma. The last thing you want to do is to encourage additional blood flow to the area. This would just cause swelling which would delay the recovery process. If anything, you would want to ice the muscles you worked similar to the way pitchers ice their arms after a game. Obviously, not as enjoyable.
What about this logic? When trauma is caused to an area it cannot properly heal without proper blood flow to that area. When we train we are causing trauma to the fascia on the eccentric motion and bring blood to it on the concentric motion. When we pin we apply a heating pad to 1. Disperse the oil and 2. Bring blood to the trauma area to help it help. So really would sitting I a hot tub really be that bad if we are getting blood flowing through the body? Maybe I'm wrong or I missed the while concept. Highly possible on both.
Totally agree that it can't heal without proper blood flow but during the initial stages it is important to limit that blood flow as that will just delay the healing process. Have you ever sprained your ankle? The absolute worst thing you can do for the first 24-48 hours is apply heat. I've noticed if I apply ice right away it has the potential really limit the swelling and cut back on recovery time.
There are tons of studies on it and I am sure you can find some that disagree, however here is just one...

iFit is correct. The heat will increase the inflammatory response. A little inflammation is good however too much is detrimental to the tissue. Ice bath would be the best bet to aid recovery.
Marcel1229Yeah man, I usually take COLD showers after workouts, but I had a lot in mind and workout for a stress relief, then hit the hot tub to relax and forget about things haha
I wouldn't do it every day but every once in a while.... Hells Ya! lol
This one ^^^^ i$ probably correct
As long as it feels good man lol
Marcel1229lol is there any benefits for the muscle when you're in the hot tub?
Only thing I'd watch out for is staying in too long lol
I do it sometimes I enjoy it but iv heard it will increase blood flow through your muscles which helps flush lactic acid and soreness.. but who knows really
Marcel1229Also hear that COLD baths gives you a test boost, and the HOT decreases it idk if that's a myth or not haha
Lol right!
