+ 1 How to handle new years gym rush

ad

I have heard a lot of talk and complaints about the new years gym rush and all the noobs that come with it. This is what you do for the next 4-6 weeks go beast every day your in the gym. Set your bar clips loose or don't even use em so them big ass 45lb plates slap together with every rep. If you got chains use em hang them all over the bar to add even more noise with those 45s slapping. Grunt and sweat all over the place. The gym is our battle ground go in there and wage war with the weights. If those noobs are serious about lifting in a real gym then they need to know what it takes to move real steel. The ones that just think they want it will move on to something else and you will be left with those that want it bad enough to put in the work and smile while they r doing it. Hell don't even stop after 4-6 weeks lift hard all year long. Let's make the next year our best year.

Happy new year everyone

My gym is full of 140lb crossfit dweebs in tube socks, squating rubber weights and jumping up and down. Fucking annoying.

The only good thing I can see that comes with the "new years gym rush" is all the new eye candy. I tend to look on the bright side...

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

hahaa yeah............ i had exactly the same thoughts earlier today, i was lucky enough to view some really nice lycra encased bottoms bobbling around on the running machines Smile

All new gym gear, new trainers....... bet we never see them again turn Feb lol

The best way to handle the rush is to continue the sauerkraut/ black eyed peas diet beyond New Years and into February.
Your digestive system will make sure you have plenty of free space around you.

On a serious note, it's getting worse at my gym each year. My gym was an old sweat box that sold to a chain a few years back. Some notable greats trained in this hole in the wall. Many of the same bent Dumbbells are still there. It was honestly perfect. No water fountains, no a/c. Definitely no treadmill theatre. But since selling, the last few years I've noticed the New Years crowd being pretty insane and stretching into March. I'll either go at odd times, or use the home equipment until February. I have more than enough here, I just like to go into the zone away from distractions. Evenings after work are out of the question at the gym for at least the next month.

I don't tend to find it a problem. People stay away from me unless they know me for the most part. I have an "unfriendly face" according to my wife. That accompanied with my 20 stone, shaved head and aggressive training attitude probably aren't too welcoming Smile

bolt781's picture

Hahaha luckily I lift in my garage. The stereotype is strong with me as well brother. I look pissed when Im content, the shaved head and scars from lifes "accidents" don't help.

If I hold the door open for you at the conveniance store, its out of courtesy...dont be startled...walk on by lol...

Greg's picture

My wife calls it my "resting bitch face".

I feel I have a slight grin, but the rest of the world sees a scowl.

Pale's picture

It works! lol, the only problem I run into is too many people know the real me.

tonytulo's picture

I worked out at 1am didn't notice much. 5 other people in the gym. I never work out before 9pm. I get home from work eat , shower and sleep for a few hours, go to the gym , come home and shower eat and sleep lol. I never notice the "new years resolution crowd.

IrishMack's picture

I think the sweating all over the place would be a recipe for a dumbbell up someones ass. My gym has more women then men at the time I go and the men that go are always on the machines anyways for some odd reason. Tomorrow and the rest of the week is time for the flood but I mind my business and go train not worry about it. Its hard to train when you worry about everyone else.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Handling the Gym rush is a doddle compared to handling the new year rush of brain dead fucks on eroids.

I just had a brain wave............... spend more time in the Gym and less time on eroids!

Yeah!........ thats the ticket!! Smile

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

lol yeah............ 24yr old magically becomes 37yrs old when he needs gear advice, and then the dopes that dont read profiles jump in giving (poor info) freely........... aaah nothing new here then lmao!

IrishMack's picture

In 1990 there was an unexplained amount of boys born. This new year in 1991 there will also be an unexplained baby boom of boys. BUT I habve a sneaking suspicion these new 25 year olds will want to do 7cc a week cycles with piana and lloyd tattoos on their 12 inch arms. Let tbe new year begin lol.

fusebox's picture

I wonder what's worse. The new years crowd or the I have to hurry up to get my beach body ready in two weeks because I sat on my ass all winter crowd

Pale's picture

I have been on a persona tear in the gym lately. Grow or bust is the motto. lol.

As far as the resolutionists, at our gym and I am sure most others the majority of them primarily avoid free weights anyway. So they don't much bother me. Plus the usual crew of fella's/ladies that are on the Black (free weight area) are serious and I think that intimidates most of them away. Regardless, most of them will suffer DOM's pain after their first workout and not come back.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

One thing is for sure, i am aiming to suffer badly from DOMS.

Little black book has made a comeback bro............... Blast Mode is rearing its head, TRT is going on the shelf for a while lmao.

My carcass is screaming for a Test/Nandro/DHT sandwich hahahahaa.......... covered up training etc, im gonna build myself a new sculpture for 2016...... plus!! my boy is catching me up fast, so i need no further motivation.

Pale's picture

I did a 30 minute deadlift blast yesterday @315, just getting in as many clean reps as I could. Today I am a cripple but come morning I will be back in the gym smashing my shoulders come hell or high water. And maybe a bunch of squats if at all possible. Smile

zeusmarada's picture

Remind me not to piss you or Viking off, in the event that we meet in a deep, dark alley.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

LOL!

You know what bro........... Pale and myself are probably two of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet... my aggression is purely for me versus the weight!....... with people i am as right as a clock Smile

My eroids persona is purely for cracking through hard skulls in an attempt to open someone's mind to the realities of their actions, and secondary for upholding rules on the board that i have poured my heart and soul into to help make us the #1 pro-aas website on the planet.

zeusmarada's picture

@Viking, well brother, your efforts are not in vain.

The biggest thing I've learned in the last half year here at eroids is simply, DON'T BE RECKLESS.

Granted, my goals aren't and have never been to be a mass monster, and I simply assume I'll never step on stage, so I'm not tempted to inject or ingest copious amounts of chemicals. However that being said, my eyes are opened enough to NOT BE SEDUCED BY IMAGINARY THINKING.

"I'll inject a gram of Tren per day and I'll get huge!"

"I'll pop twenty dbols a day and be benching 400 pounds by next Saturday!"

Even when I arrived here knowing nothing of AAS, I still would have made fun of that shit. Sadly, it only takes a day or two to discover, that "give it to me now mentality" exists among many young men who don't have the maturity to understand reality.

They unfortunately underestimate their own minds and bodies and think that AAS will GIVE them what they crave, rather than going and EARNING what they crave and utilizing intelligent AAS to help them along the way.

I'm old enough to know, THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL.

OBTAINING GOOD HEALTH will always be "boring." It is always gonna be about eating right, mitigating stress, getting good rest, then pushing that god forsaken iron through space and time, again and again, over and over, and only THEN will you be better today than you were yesterday.

Learning what I've learned here will literally help me live my last remaining 4 decades on this water covered rock in much better health, both physically, as well as mentally. For that, my gratitude is eternal.

I can't pay you or others back, but I will surely pay it forward.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Bro....... your words here are payback enough, posts like yours are what we want the 100.000 or so eroids viewers to read instead of all the other trash you mentioned.

Members like you are priceless for maintaining our "safety + longevity" policy here.........

Thank you Smile

Pericu's picture

I always train at times when no one else trains, which leads to that especially new years gym enthusiasts don't train at those times. I never get the new years transition...the training days are the same all year round

ashop's picture

I trained at 5 am New Year Day. Only me and two other people in the gym that early Smile

Pericu's picture

Exactly the same with me only me and the same people who train seriously!

We were all new at one time. I just need to see past the tren to realize it.
