+ 1 Sometimes it's just therapy for the mind and soul.

I am a very calm level headed individual the type to always think before I speak or act. Wednesday I left work ill as a hornet. Felt as is I had enough gas to burn the world and all I needed was someone to give me a spark. Went to the gym to work legs and all the racks were taken even the leg presses. I knew I needed to do something to clear my mind and de-stress. So I turned up the volume in my headphones and started doing deadlifts. Without realizing it I had tuned the fully packed gym out and all I had was hard rock playing in my head, the bar dragging up and down my legs and 45lb plates slamming against the rubber floor. Didn't count reps just kept pulling to lockout and adding more weight untill I couldn't keep going. Did this for a little over an hour. Then went home feeling very satisfied and carefree. When I woke the next morning the soreness reminded me I was still alive. We all have our ups and downs, but I am glad I have the iron as my outlet. It is one constant that doesn't lie and the more you put into it the more it gives back. Thank you for your time. And if you have a particular lift or routine that helps get you out of a bad mood or day please share.

To me working out is like my free therapy. I challenge myself everyday and see how far my body will go. I don't think about nothing but the moment. A lot of people ask my why I go so much, they don't understand and I don't expect them too or want them too. It's my own time, my therapy, my every day getaway.

When I have days like you've described the weight is the only remedy! You can smash the shit out of it and it won't bleed and press charges! Those days I tear myself down till there is nothing left! Every bit of emotion entirely gone. They say the calm before the storm...well everything becomes eerily silent after the storm...peace can be born from devastation...

Seems like some of the best days come when your not feeling it and go do it anyway. You feel accomplished because not only did you conquer the workout you took control and made yourself put in the work.

I love to get on a bench, load 4- 45s and just never come up for air only changing my grip position, helps to tune out all the BS around you. When I'm on my back I don't even see anyone so it helps to focus even more to just rep till I feel my chest is bleeding. Of course I can bench heavier but I just want the reps on those kind of days.
