How do YOU see YOURSELF? Are you deluded, happy, content? Do you see YOU?
Brothers & Sisters!
Bit of a long winded question, but, do you look at yourself and think, "Damn, I just look like shit!" or, "If only I looked as good as Dave or Diane from the gym (Q is ope to both sexes obviously). So, you see yourself as "small" still, or "overweight" whatever?
Or, the flip side, do you see yourself in the mirror, and say to yourself, "DAAAANG! I look FINE!" etc.. ;-)
So, you happy? With YOU!
Reason I ask is I always thought one lad I trained with was a lot bigger than me, he's 20yrs younger, so has strength, and no pains YET!! But, someone took a pic of us together without us knowing, so, we weren't posing or tensing up for the camera, and, I am a hell of a lot larger and leaner than him... Why don't I see that? It's THERE to see, YET, I absolutely can't see it.. WEIRD!!
So, share, or don't, your call..

I see myself......"As the one who comes knocking"..............
I'm see my self happy. I may not have all the money in the world but money is not what makes you rich or happy.
I have a wonderful wife a boy and a girl, I'm lucky on that part healthy family I have a dog that loves us to death. And I have some stuff people feel makes them happy like a house and car blah.
Life is how you see it, only you can make your self happy when you stop looking at others and stick to what makes you happy. Your looking at his best and com pairing it to your worst. I bet when you was 20something you ran lap around him.
I see myself pretty well, I am happy in my own skin. Now, I will admit I just got home from a week in Mexico of eating and drinking in excess so I am a little less happy with my body today, but hopefully a couple weeks of locking down the diet along with cardio I will be okay..
I see myself as well on my way. I threw out the scale a few years ago, I focus on stronger and don't compare myself to others. The things that make us different are what make us beautiful, I don't need to look like anyone else.
Great way to be. Very focused, and admirable. Good work! Keep it up, though, you definitely don't need me to tell you that.. ;-)
Thanks, it took many years to realize being the best me I could be was all that mattered.
To be honest when I younger I always got teased about me being fat big ears and I always use to feel like shit why me lol but then I hit my teens and all the girls came in with compliments and much more lol but secretly I was still unhappy with myself as I got older and started training I felt better about myself but its still there that feeling of I still don't look good strong enough. My wife tells me now babe your big you won. I'm like no do see this it needs work.then she shows me a picture of myself 4years ago and she says look you made great progress she can see it but not me.
Mate, YOU are very lucky! Your wife sounds good! Very supportive! Well done, but your journey is only complete, when you are happy... Whenever or if ever that is.. Keep working brother..

Thanks doc she is but we've been through a lot together bcuz of aware crazy families I'm surprised we've been together this long its been 10yrs and we have a beautiful son he's really my motivation the things he says blows my mind but not to go off topic I'm very happy about that but I'm my own worst enemy sometimes I criticize myself hard for everything. But thanks for the nice words doc:)
Very welcome fella. Sounds like you are a credit to your son, as he is to you. Nothing better could be asked for brother ;-)
People will never be happy with the cards they have been delt in life. All these things daily that we look over and take for granted! From being homeless and not having a pot to piss in, to being over seas taking cold showers, dodging mortars and missing holidays!
For me, sometimes it takes a person from the outside looking in to voice it to me. Like "hey bro your buff", "your blessed, look at your family". Makes you take a step back and think," Hey your right."
In essence, Im happy at the place I am today, I've come along way physically, emotionally and spiritually! Never look at another person in envy, you dont know what they went through to achieve what they have!Theres people with no arms,no legs, sicknesses, diseases, ect! Every person has individual qualities, Im just greatful to be able to do what I love!
Fella, doing what you love! Well, ain't that the truth. Agree, we all have to be happy with our lot, as we are in the main fortunate indeed, BUT, we do still "pick" at our flaws, it's human nature.. I personally won't ever be happy or content, it's not in my nature, f**k knows why? I AM happy to have the ability to change my self though, that, THAT is a GIFT!

I am definitely a very happy person. i value and appreciate life everyday...
so many ppl i know are either sick with cancer or have died from it...so i value the condition i'm in and appreciate my own health and do as much as i can to foster it...having said that, i am always striving for improvement...i've spent so much of my earlier life hating my body & my face, bec of others ppls fucked up perception of me which they projected on to me...now i own who i am and love my body & my self and have come to accept that im not perfect, have never have been and never will be, but in this lack of perfection i am perfect. truth be known what i generally find the most attractive in other ppl is their imperfections so if someone cannot accept my imperfections than they are not the kind of person i want in my life anyway...
Very concise answer, we have all journeyed I think, to get where we are today, and have either been supported or, sadly laughed at.. I don't feel I was and am supported, but, that's a different thread, and not for here. Imperfections, are what makes character and individuality, and ARE PARAMOUNT to you, yourself, as they separate you from the others. Embrace your imperfections, the ones you don't like, like being overweight and out of shape, CHANGE, the ones you cannot change, like a wonky eye or buck teeth, embrace and love..

The day I started lifting is the day I've never been so small.
This is funny today, in fact right before I saw this I was siting here thinking ? Wtf am I doing wrong ? I only look good when I'm at the gym with a pump, other then that I feel like I ook flat and weak.. We are strange creatures, but someone once told me you don't see what other people see ! So I try to stay positive, train hard and eat right. Oh I was 300 lbs in high school so I'm self conscious anyway.
That last line, right there "300lbs in high school" is definitely your reason for not being happy.. being self concious is a very hard thing to overcome..
never big enough im opposite anorexic always think im skinny lol always blame my barber that my hair looks shit even when everyone else says its good ......put a few drinks down my neck and im gods gift lmao
You're good enough, You're smart enough, and dog-gone-it, People Like You!
odd how our eyes see ourselves different than others see us. I've always been a little reserved, yet still comfortable in my own skin. on occasion, after a shower an such, passing by the mirror I do think, wow is this really me. my early adult life I was lean and fit. the start of my thirties I began to loose that shape definition and ended up skinny fat. fast forward 4yrs currently standing with almost 50lbs of additional muscle, I can't help but think "is this really me" ...
Mate, have a look at where I was... I DEFINITELY say "is that really me" now, and no longer catch my reflection in McDonald's windows and say, "shit, I need to do something"... Hahaha!
Rediscovering yourself, my opinion is so much more rewarding then just firing into it first time..
I could be deluded but I'm pretty sure people that are deluded don't know it hence the word delusional. I don't hate mirrors but I don't necessarily love them either. I think that I look pretty good but the only place I take my shirt off is at my house. I'm gonna go with content but a tad insecure!
Good analogy... the only living thing I have seen that loves a mirror unconditionally, is a Budgie.. I feel comfortable shirtless at home too.. ;-)
I see a slightly smaller right pec. It's not noticeable to the untrained eye, but I notice it. The strength is the same as the left, but I just can't seem to get the same fullness, drives me crazy.
Sometimes the only way I can get off is if I masturbate while looking at myself in the mirror.
I am that damn perfect.
No homo.
Hope that answers your question.
lmao you are the funniest bastard hahaha
Nope, f**k all wrong with that. Everyone needs a girlfriend. ;-)
Lol.
:-)
I still look in the mirror and the only big thing I see is my fkn stomach. I think it's psychological. Happiness is truly a state of mind.
If you are like I used to be, the mirror has always been your nemesis.. Difficult to see good in it :-) State of mind is paramount.. Gains are the result of mindset!

Nothing is more than you make it to bro...everything is a mind game.....Like nohting in this world would make your happy, NO MONEY, NO MARRIAGE, NO BIG HOUSE, NO BIG CAR, NO BIG BODY and so on...only your own mind can give you happiness, if you agree with yourself that you are happy of what you are and have you will be happy regardless of what you actually have or not have in that matter:)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us anyway my friend :):)
