Happy 46th Birthday to ME.

ad

Another year gone by post Widow-maker Heart Attack (I posted a year ago about my experience in the ER). I lurk alot on the forums because I really love the camaraderie of this board. You guys are like family I never met but family nonetheless. Cheers.

Just in case anyone wants to know. My situation hasn't gotten better but neither has it gotten worse. The front of my heart has a huge scar but luckily didn't damage too much of my left ventricle so that I can still work out pretty good, though I tire easily. I just got taken off my blood thinners but will be on about 5 different meds for my entire life (this includes beta blockers). Needless to say I don't use gear anymore for fear of having another fatal cardiovascular accident.

I just read your story. That is so fucking scary. Do you knkw what caused it? High cholesterol, blood pressure, genetics,? That scares the shit out of me. Happy birthday bro.

I didn't know at the time but all my dads side has had open heart surgeries. His side of the family was largely unknown to me growing up and it sucks that it took this to realize how much of a risk I had. But at least I'm alive. I was told many times that I had high cholesterol but just shrugged it off. I guess its strange but you really don't know how much something like that can mess you up your arteries.

What sucks is that I was doing my first Test cycle ever so that when it happened my wife blamed it on that. I tried to explain to her the facts but she thinks that increased blood in my body from the test, plus the narrowing arteries were a recipe for disaster. I don't know. I did take for a very long time protein powders and I'm assuming that probably jacked up my cholesterol even more. Not sure. Anyways, I love just being alive. My heart doctor said that my great fitness is the only thing that kept me from dying. He said my cario was excellent and when he did a fit test on me 6 months after the heart attack he said that I did better than just normal (ie no history of heart attack) people that try the test. So I'm happy.
