Generation Iron 2
ad
I have seen the movie and cannot express enough its lack of cohesion. I honestly don't know what the fuck I just watched. On the bright side, I did not have to pay the outrageous $18.99 asking price on the Generation Iron website to see the film. If it is something you feel you must watch because you liked the first Generation Iron, you are going to be severely let down. However, I highly suggest you do not waste your money to watch this garbage.
Spoiler Alert (sort of): While the film lacks a general sense of direction, it features more footage of Calum Von Moger and Rich Piana than anyone else. Maybe that's another reason I hated it so much.
Has anyone else seen the film? What is your take on it?

I finally downloaded this
As much as I expected to hate it, I didn't and enjoyed it really
Piana is a twat - little bitch was wearing coloured contact lenses to change his eye colour - what a fairy
CvMoger - well this chap is a complete nerd, I mean seriously, he is an absolute beta, at best
That said, the movie did something interesting in that it took a look at what some people think is a popular movement - the move towards classic bodybuilding and the influence of the industry itself - i.e. where the money is made and the popularity/controversy needed to generate it
The movie failed to engage properly, but that is my view as someone not interested in youtube bullshit or the little men's competition, so for Piana fanboys I am sure it was a wet dream. However, the movie was still interesting to a degree.
The look at the demise of women's bodybuilding was interesting, and a slight glimpse at Oxygen gym was also interesting. I would suggest that a 1-year-long produced 'fly on the wall' documentary on the O2 gym would be really interesting.
Kai became irrelevant once he quit doing the Olympia.
For the most part I agree. I am not going to buy one of his comics or overpriced supplements. I am interested in whether or not he is going to be competing in the Olympia. I'm hoping this is the year he comes back.
The word is that he will compete this year
He wont win with the back that he had last year though, all his definition was gone at the Arnold
That's true, though it is rare for anyone to come in fully condition at the Arnold. I'm remaining hopeful because I really want for this year to be the year that Phil Heath falls. LOL!
Hahaha!
Everyone hates poor ould Phil!!!
I don't think anyone is even close to Phil if he comes in dialed.
Phil Heath no doubt deserved 4 out of his 6 Olympia wins (ahem!). The guy has pretty good proportions, decent muscle bellies and symmetry. He does have a good-sized ego, which doesn't help in the popularity department, and IMO isn't anything special. I mean, look at the lack of competition, especially with Kai Greene being out of the picture over the past 2 years.
But, if you were to put heath up against a Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, or Kevin Levrone in their prime, Heath would likely go unnoticed on the Olympia stage. Bodybuilders of old were on a completely different level. I guess I am biased because I prefer the bodybuilders of the 80's and 90's over today's breed. I also believe Kai Greene was robbed of the Olympia title twice. This all of course boils down to preference.
They aren't
The lads that are needing to qualify show their best and are not even close
Dexter, Ramy etc..... forget about it
I guess people hate his confidence and arrogance, I just think he is absolutely amazing when on point
Nathan De Asha - he's a future champ, has a different sort of body, something classic about it, if that's possible
I thought William Bonac stood out. If he comes in dialed he could break top five.
oh that sucks, trailer looked pretty nice :(
Well I've got to say I've lost enthusiasm for this now- Not a Kai Greene fan- Never took to the guy (No homo)
What about Kai Greene?
I suppose the lack of direction fact is true, even in trailers it's obvious.
Kai is still Kai in the film -- he takes 10 minutes to explain something that only should have taken 20 seconds to explain, LMAO. Basically, Kai only makes 2 main points throughout film:
1) He no longer cares solely about winning trophies, as he can market his other talents
2) He is all about making money now
I may have oversimplified a bit, but that is pretty much the crux of his appearances in the film as I perceived them. Like I said, the film lacked true direction and in my opinion came up short . . . Way short.
RustyhookerPart 1 was cool. Downloaded it to phone off netflix. Thanks for the warning!
You're welcome!
Best part of the first was when branch warren fell off that horse. I'm not gonna rush to see the second
RustyhookerThat looked like it hella hurt. Lol
I wish Calum Von Moger would have fallen off a high-rise to his death. Talk about an arrogant Schwarzenegger wannabe!
Once I saw Calum Von Moger and Rich Piana in the trailers I pretty much tuned out
I will give it a watch I suppose, but what a pair of wankers to showcase
It was pretty awful! For a guy who has little more than a social media following, you would have thought Calum Von Moger believed his star status was parallel to Schwarzenegger the way he came across. Talk about a huge ego for not really being anything special to the industry!
Rich Piana was . . . Well . . . Rich Piana was his typical self. You can expect out of the movie what you may have already seen in any number of his YouTube videos. I do respect him for at least acknowledging he is one of the most hated people in the industry. He seems to be all about the money and has a "fuck the world" mentality, obviously. There's more I could say but don't want to ramble on.
I honestly don't hate the guy, but he's about one synthol injection from popping. He's looking more and more like the Brazilian guys every day. It's gotten worse since they started filming.
One thing is certain, his arms are going to look ridiculous when he can't pound the iron anymore. Can you imagine him with no chest, back, legs, or shoulders and simultaneously having huge Synthol and/or PMMA arms? That's if he doesn't die first of a heart attack from the excessive amounts of gear he is taking.
He'll start posing as Popeye and try selling spinach online. I can see it now.
LMAO!
He will do fine. The canned spinach market is booming!
No shit, I just saw today he posted something about wanting Popeyes forearms and something about eat your god damn spinach. It's already in motion.
