Floyd Mayweather
Love him or hate him he's a bad ass mufuker and the boy can fight! His defense is inpenitrable, his counter punching & reflexes are second to none. His hand speed is just sickening! He always finds a way to win. Never falls into the traps ppl set for him. He always dictates the pace. It's like he approaches each round like a fight in itself. He doesn't give you a chance to settle in and doesn't let you find your range. That shoulder roll he uses is called a "philly shell" but he tweaked it slightly. He stays back on his heels flat footed but still the ability to move side to side isn't effected. Is it exciting to watch Floyd Mayweather? That depends on who you ask. If you ask the average guy watching it on tv it's a HELL NO! But ask someone who knows what's going on in and can see the skill set on display will be extremely entertained. For me it's like watching a chess master. Think about watching chess. How fucking boring would that be? Except, there are times when o could sit back and really get into watching a kick ass chess match. Boxing is more of a passing for me than most ppl but even if I had no intimate understanding of the craft, I still think I'd have an appreciation for the raw talent, the extreme discipline and hard work it takes to reach that kind of pinnacle. I can't hate on Floyd. I can't stand his ass outside the ring but that's irrelevant.
I believe Miguel Cotto needs to go back to being the body destroyer he once was to have a chance at all! As much as I can't stand when Floyd runs his mouth, I would NEVER bet against him! 24/7 HBO. Episode one! Call the fight, who wins and how?

Ur very right nitti people just have understanding that U can't run in a ring lol floyd fought brilliantly he's constantly making adjustments and finding those right hand counters also the left counter off the ropes manny fought someone way past his level of boxing my respects to floyd mayweather not only is he a good fighter he plays a great roll as the bad guy which makes watching him box for me personally very enjoyable as he breaks down opponents round by round I don't think we will see another floyd for 30-40 yrs that skill, technique, & dedication is very unique

I'm having a little bit of a bromance with this cat right now. I am enjoying listening to all the ppl bitching about it. I'm sure if you dig through this you'll find old predictions on these fights from multiple ppl who know their shit. 4 years ago , last night, next week , doesn't matter. Manny Pacqiauo doesn't beat this dude in any game plan or setting. There is no blue print to beat this guy. DeLaHoya thought he had it. Canelo was supposed to be too strong for him. Cotto was supposed to drop him with body shots. Marcos Maidana , Zab Juddah (that was a fight). Nobody even wins more than 3 rounds against this guy. I don't know if he loses rounds in most fights. Shane Mosley rocked him but couldn't finish. Floyd adapted and set his pace dictating the rest of the fight. They all look eerily similar to me. Every fight he's had with everyone it's the same song. They can't catch him. Can't reach him. He's landing 50% of his punches and winning rounds cleanly with crisp counter punching and footwork. Boring, usually,...but he is a master of his craft. I would love for him to give Khan the shot like my boy MONK said. I don't necessarily think that fight goes any different than the other 48. Khan will do what manny did. The only difference is Khan has a suspect chin. Could be dangerous for him.

His workouts are insane. He is hard working dedicated mother fucker. Also the whole money shit is an act somewhat. He is an entertainer. People may hate him but they still want to see what he say's or does next. He sell's himself well. He doesn't mind playing the bad guy because it is just an act and it is part of his job. He made $85 million last year. He is the highest paid athlete in 1 year of ALL TIMES. He just like 42 mill on his last fight last sat. He was guaranteed $32 mill win or lose. Plus he prob got atleast 5 mill from showtime for the deal he cut with them. He is 36 years old 46-0 he is going for 51 and o though he stated that on saturday to meet Rocky marciano's 50 and 0 record.

Just read that after a hand injury in 2000 the reason he will never and has never fought outside the state of nevada is because nevada is the only place that allows ''LIDOCAINE'' a numbing drug injected into his hands before every fight. I like manny. But Mayweather is on another level. It's not like he pulled a roy jones and made a career of fighting overmatched opponents, Mayweather is 42-0 against GREAT fighters, not only that, but he made them all look like chumps.
He's been hurt, what maybe, 4 times in his career, at an elite level? His defense is impeccable really. If he doesn't go down as possibly one P4P the greatest, he should at least go down with the recognition he deserves as the greatest defensive fighter in boxing history.

So I'm going to list what will really happen and what my heart wants to happen.
So everything you said above is word for word how I feel about Mayweather. I hate loud talkers. Where I'm from those guys get shot and left for dead in the gutter. But when u see him in the ring it's Magic. He's a natural, a prodigy even now in his older age. So all that being said I hate the bastard! I'm mexican and after the way he came to the ring in traditional Mexican garb against Oscar on Cinco de Mayo made me hate him to the grave. Anyway. My heart truly thinks he can get beat by a big strong fighter who manhandles him physically. Just like Oscar did. I personally think Oscar won the fight. All Mayweather did was run. So Cotto who is strong and has a niche for crunbling guys through their body needs to do as u said and stick to the body. He needs to throw him around and bullrush Mayweather. In this fight I'd rather get knocked out by Mayweather then stay back and let him dissect me in the ring with feint shots and those killer stright rights from the angles. Cotto needs to attack attack attack! One of the trademarks of Latin Fighters is their heart. He needs to embrace that and stay with it to weaken the incredible defense Mayweather was honestly JUST born with. Cotto will eventually get inside and keep Mayweather on the run. Fight will go the distance and due to Mayweathers inability to commit to throwing punches Cotto gets the decision!
Now my mind says to me to never bet against him because everytime I do I have lost. Mayweather is IMO the greatest defensive champion of all time. Better than Sugar Ray, better than Whitaker and better than Camacho in his prime. WHat makes Mayweather unbeatable is his ability to put power behind his counters from a defensive position.
His footwork is some of the best I've ever seen. He honestly is ambedextrious with his feet and his hands. Makng his defense so beautiful to watch. Not fun to watch if ur not a true boxing fan, but a true Boxing nut spots it a mile away and it can bring a smile to your face watching it. So Mayweather will lure Cotto in after playing chase around the ring for the first 4-5 rounds. Then in the 6th he will unleash the hounds and his feet will hit warp speed and his hands will fly. He'll catch Cotto with a flury of straight rights from god knows where. He'll get Cotto to over commit and over extend trying to get inside. Then Bam Cotto goes down in the later seconds of round 7. He'll get back up but will realize he's fucked. Rounds 8-11 will be a schooling of what the difference is from being a champion and being a LEGEND!!!

Excellent perspective! I agree on some points. The tricky thing about Floyd (also what makes him so great) is the ability to adapt. Whether he's cruising on the cards or in a dog fight, he finds chinks in the armor and exposes them! He is surgical with it! He will systematically break down his opponents until their will is broken or they kiss the canvas. I don't like the guy. He's arrogant, disrespectful, flat out ignorant but i'm a fight fan and this mufukr is a winner! He has been accused of boring fights but thats because of his ring intelligence. Why take unecessary risks if you have found a weakness in your opponent? That's also the reason for his longevity. The guy doesn't get hit. Once in a while his body is ex[osed because of his particular style of defense which is called "The Philly shell". Left shoulder up near the chin, left arm down around the body, right hand cocked while the whole body is turned at an angle. There's no target and when fighting the best counter puncher in the biz, you can't get caught taking risks.
Cotto on the other hand I love! He has the heart of a champion which u cannot teach! You either have it or you don't There's no quit in him (except when he's getting hit with paris plaster loaded gloves). The 1st Margarito fight was a psychological nightmare for him. It effected him in every fight after. He didn't want to get hit and he abandoned his training and resorted to instincts. He was lucky he didn't get his head taken off in a couple of those fights. So now his confidence is restored. What got Cotto where he is? His relentless body attack. I've seen him knock out guys with body shots (Branco for one). I think Cotto still has weaknesses. He drops his head and hands when he gets caught clean and starts to sway in an attempt to weave. It's dangerous. Mayweather WILL knock him out if he does this. After cotto demolished the cheater in fight 2, he looks confidant and ready. He's fighhting at a comfortable weight for him. He won't have to cut so much the last 3 days for the weigh in which is extremely taxing on the body. I see a tactical chess match through 4, then some action in the middle. This is the time when the technical mis match will be aparent. The difference in hand speed will be apparent and Cotto will have to dig deep. I think ultimately Floyd wins a decision. Should be interesting. Depending on which Miguel Cotto shows up will determine the pace of the fight. Mayweather can easily be suckered into a dog fight which is when he's most vulnerable
The Philly Shell!! That's awesome insight. I remember watching Pernell Whitaker although a lefty used to fight sideways all day! Even Roy Jones when he was young and was trying to keep the angles he did the same thing. Cotto can do it if he does something Incredible. Mayweather just has to fight his normal 'A' game to win. That's the difference. I love the contrast in styles for this fight. From personality to technique. So different and I hope it makes for a great fight. I love fights. Boxing or MMA. But Boxing is something that has been my birthright. Maybe not to your degree brother but my Gramps made sure it was in my blood from the cradle my man.
