+ 6 Death by Steroids

ad

It is not my intention to scare anyone.

But anyone in this game should be well aware of all the risks associated with gear use. A recent verdict came down in regards to 2012 mass poisoning case via a legitimate New England compounding pharmacy in regards to their steroid production. Upon reading the article I felt compelled to inform the community of this situation . This being a legitimate compounding laboratory one would think the standards would be impeccable. Fact is, in this case, the exact opposite were true. Fact is, contaminated steroid injections directly caused the death of 76 people! Below are some excerpts from this case via the Associated Press

"The co-owner of a pharmacy, Barry Cadden, deemed responsible for the deaths of 76 people in a national meningitis outbreak tearfully apologized to the victims on Monday and was sentenced to nine years in prison, far less than the victims had wanted."

"The outbreak was traced to contaminated injections of medical steroids made by the New England Compounding Center in Framingham.

Prosecutors say Cadden, 50, ran the center in a dangerous way by skirting industry regulations on sterility in an effort to push production and make more money. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda Strachan said the center was "a massive reckless and fraudulent organization." "

"The outbreak of fungal meningitis and other infections in 20 states was traced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to contaminated injections of medical steroids.
The CDC put the death toll at 64 as of October 2013. Federal prosecutors say 12 more people have died since then, raising the total to 76. More than 700 people were sickened."

"NECC used expired ingredients and falsified logs to make it look as if the so-called clean rooms had been disinfected, prosecutors said. After the outbreak, regulators found multiple potential sources of contamination, including standing water and mold and bacteria in the air and on workers' gloved fingertips."

Cadden was acquitted of second-degree murder charges under federal racketeering law but was convicted on conspiracy and fraud charges"

Think about that for a moment. A legit pharmacy fully responsible for killing 76 people! And the owner walks on the murder charge. Do you think your UGL home-brewer would get the same leeway? I highly doubt that.

I am posting this simply to inform and to keep everyone on their toes. Resources like Eroids are a valuable resource in finding legitimate sources for quality compounds. That being said , personal responsibly is paramount. if something is floating in your oil toss it out. If your multi-dose vial isn't crimped properly toss it out. We all take risks, but it is always best to take those risks while being on your toes.

I thought this was going to be something about AAS use or abuse, cause i was going to call BS. Ive heard plenty of doctors, nurses, ect talk about seeing 0 cases of anyone dying from AAS use, injured sure, but dying is highly unlikely from use alone.

TheFlash85's picture

Accept in cases of bad infections from juice, that happens.

Heart attacks/ strokes from high bp caused by steroids.

Liver and kidney failure from tren and oral abuse.

Fucking oath it happens but usually its complications.

I was lucky to live myself from an infection due to injection- abcess turns staph turned cellulitis turned septic- no pulse when entered emergency and id already been smashing oral anti biotics like skittles.

So maybe no directly but i directly they can kill.

DragonDog's picture

You speak the truth. AAS are fire, and need to be handled with care. Kidney failure, diabetes, enlarged heart, liver toxicity, etc. The list of risks are extensive, hence why I spend time learning everything I can to mitigate and avoid as many of the negatives as possible, so I can enjoy the positives.

TheFlash85's picture

Indeed.

Anything can potentially kill if abused.

There is even a condition that kills from drinking to much water.

Fuck you can die getting in the van with ED.

Lol

DragonDog's picture

True and nobody wants to be dead by Ed.

if you would like to check out the full article from June 26 2017

Sentencing just occurred in this case

You will notice in the article also the complete lack of the word Corticosteroid.
More than likely due to the sexiness of the word Steroid itself as it relates to news headlines.

Again, you think your UGL home brewer would get off on a murder charge if their products directly killed that many people?

First, post a link to your source.
Second, this happened some time ago and the steroids being talked about are anti inflammatories.

i20bpm's picture

Yes your right I remember this and it wasn't aas it was corticosteroids

How do you think BIG MONEY CORPORATIONS get their Big Money. The Pharmaceutical companies of today are a multi Billion dollar industry wither by jacked up increased prices or many corners cut. Doctors get kick backs to peddle and push Drugs on their patients being alot of times they don even need. Doctors are your street level drug dealers and pharmaceutical companies are the cartel just think about it. We can put a man on the moon but they can cure aids and cancer yea right. They make more money pushing meds that just keep people alive so that they can keep pushing their high dollar drugs. I trust the pharmaceutical cartel just as much as I trust the Mexican mafia

Remember the source who said he used 2 coffee filters so there was no way his gear could be contaminated. Lol

AmericanDream's picture

Don't worry bro, Ive got 3 coffee filters on that shit. All Day GTG

You know a source is really gtg when they triple filter their gear!

Problem is though is where does it end with worrying about all this type of stuff? The worst Test flu / Fever I've ever had was from Infiniti ultra test 6 months before they went to SIS - Now there's a lab I'd class as Very trustable and clean, a lot more than any UGL and I've used many. Think its always going to be a risk with anything and I guess a lot of us will have used a particular batch before we realise it was a bad one :-(

This is crazy shit right here you have a licensed legal pharma company poisoning 700+ people.
Killing 76
Then we have multiple ugls here that pump out possibly more test then they did and I haven't seen a infection post in awhile.
It baffles me how this can even happen this pharmacy should have been checked better or something because the ugls have no one but there rep watching over them and they do a decent job some a great job in my opinion.

Great post i haven't heard anything about this until now. +1

333's picture

I heard about this but it had more fake news in it thanks for clearing it up brother +1 to you. I think ugl might be more careful then pharmaceutical companies cause that's there income and how they make their money pharmaceutical companies already have billions if not trillions of bucks so they don't care if they are hit with a couple lawsuits to them it's pump out the stuff as fast as they can for more money as a ugl if they fuck up they lose all their clients and have to fear of being gnarked on meaning massive prison time.

PPGfreak's picture

Exactly! They may not be paying government taxes but you KNOW someone is taxing them lol

You got it , man. Just looking out for everyone. This company filed for bankruptcy while the article points out related companies reached a 200 million dollar settlement with the victims. The owner who got off on the murder charge is pointing the finger clearly at the head pharmacist, a man knows by the name as Glenn Chin is scheduled to go on trial in September. So we will just have to see what unfolds moving forward. Some scary shit. I agree with you whole heartedly though. How many times has big pharma produced a product that kills rather than cures? Far too often , I'm afraid.

Gettingbig's picture

You bring up how many times has big pharma produced a product that kills at the same time reading that on my tv is a law firm talking about getting in on one of those types of cases. Its so common its ridiculous.
The FDA is a pile of bullshit they get there pockets lined by these pharma companies and let anything on the market but I can't even get prescribed Proviron which has been proven throughout the years as a safe compound to use.
Ridiculous this topic gets me boiling +2

AmericanDream's picture

I completely agree. In this case over 700 people fell ill with 76 people who went to their doctor for medicine. Medicine that directly caused their death. These companies care more about their bottom line then peoples lives they destroy. Now, I hear big pharma is trying to create cannabis pain pills to replace the dangerous opioid medication which they make that is killing everyone. I stand back in awe of that lunacy. God already created cannabis pain medicine , its called marijuana. Unfortunately the USA runs and depends on the sheer apathy and blind compliance of its citizenry.

Gettingbig's picture

I want you to look up who holds the patent on that you will be very surprised when you find out. I know i was.
I will give you a hint they say it has no medical use but they hold the patent on its medical use

DragonDog's picture

Crazy, thanks for bringing it to light.

U.S. Patent No. 6,630,507 was granted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2003.
covers the potential use of non-psychoactive cannabinoids — chemical compounds found within the plant species cannabis sativa — to protect the brain from damage or degeneration caused by certain diseases, such as cirrhosis.

Notice the key word "potential" . They have been using that words for decades in order to skirt the law. Much like Agent Orange has the "potential to be a human carcinogen" . Much like Roundup today, made by, you guessed it, the exact same company.

Gettingbig's picture

I couldn't believe it the first time I was shown that. Well I could believe it but it really made me think
