D-1 Football help

ad

I need some advice for my son. He is in summer camp for football season. This is his junior year. Lets just say it's very hot and humid where he plays. He has trained and worked hard in the off season for this coming season. Going into camp at 6'5 and 252lbs. He called me today because he has lost 15lbs in the first 1.5 weeks of camp. I know it is mostly water weight, and he is staying hydrated but I'm still concerned for his health with two adays coming up and camp just starting. Coach has them drinking a bottle of Gatorade per every 2 pounds lost. He is concerned about getting into muscle loss during this time. The school supplies the players Muscle Milk. I told him to up his nightly and morning protien intake and eat more good carbs ie: pasta and fruits and drink more water.
I'm asking for some advice on this from my brothers and seesters(in my lame mexican voice). What would you advise for this? Keep in mind this is in 95 to 100 degree heat and very humid and football is a religion in this area.He has worked really hard to get to where he is and I'm more concerned for his health than his starting position. BTW, it's not just him. The whole team is dealing with this and it's to be expected this time of year. But, I'm still concerned.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Of course they test in d1. Of course there are an ass load of d1 football players on the juice. There are ways around the testing. I'd be willing to bet this junior is either on or exploring it. That's just the nature of the beast.

I can tell you he is not juicing. The kid is scared to death of needles.

I don't know brother. That's an easy fear to overcome when you are in the competetive world of college sports. Especially when you are in the sunset of your college career wanting to step it up to make the draft. You know that shit is around him.
I think his call talking to you about weight loss may have been him reaching out, wanting to talk to you about the Juice.
Maybe he is on eroids as we speak.... Maybe... I'm your son!

When was your sons last cycle?
First, your son needs to be sittin on his Ass when he's not practicing. He needs the rest. He also needs to be eating eating and eating. Get him on to full fat greek yogurt the shit is good, the protein is high and it's good for him. Have him eating peanut butter, drinking whole milk, whey and caseine shakes, nuts, multi vitamins, steak , fish, chicken and eggs. Avocados. That kind of stuff.
