AnonYo need to try meditation and yoga...no pills, good for you and no adverse side effects...plus makes you muscles more supple and less prone to injury
TxBigBoyI do beginner level yoga in the mornings everyday. I've just had a hard time sleeping longer than 4 hours a night for the past week. I get a good 3-4 hours of rem then I'm wide awake and later in the day the lack of sleep messes with me. I've even added in an extra cardio workout everyday for my bp so I'm back to feelin like it's the cortisol levels keeping me up. My last test 2 weeks ago my levels were pretty high. I've been taking some natural supplements for it but still not really helping.
AnonWhat are you taking? Have you tried meditating? I ll do some research and get back to you
TxBigBoyIt's this stuff my wife got, I can't say the name cause the company she works for is small and only in our town and has the patent on the name brand but it has magnolia bark, beta sitosterol, l-theanine, vanadyle sulfate and some other stuff but those are the main ingredients. I haven't tried meditating yet, with 2 little kids running around all day I can barely use the bathroom in peace. I think I might here in a sec right before bed. But yea thanks for the help, I've been on google all day reading about it and a lot of people say the OTC shit doesn't help. If it doesn't get better soon I'll bite the bullet an tell my Dr.
AnonThe doc, unless they are 'progressive isn't gonna give you anything that is worth a damn...if you can't sleep you need to teach yourself progressive relaxation and deep breathing..I have access to quite a bit of medical research so Google isn't my first choice ..
TxBigBoyAh I see, well I guess in the mean time Ill take advantage of it and drink another protien shake at 330am. I also have ambien so what I'm doing right now is wearing myself out before bed with cardio then sex then take melatonin which helps me initially fall alseep, then when. I wake up( which I just did, drinking my shake right now) I take my ambien and get back to sleep till about 7 when my kids wake me up. I figured the doc wouldn't do shit cause well let's face it shes a dr and most of them suck.
AnonI just stay up til two or three... then I m so tired I have no choice but to sleep... have yu tried taking bendryl instead of ambien. Ambien is an anti psychotic, not that the doc will tell you that, shhh its a secret ..lol.. just like so many other things the docs and FDA won't tell you
TxBigBoyI have tried benadryl but it's makes me feel really weird. I try not to take the ambien to much, that's why I started the melatonin before bed.
I know you posted this 4 days ago but I thought I could shed some light on this subject so I just wanted to put my two cents in. With melatonin it is important to take it an hour before bed. Just take a small amount and let it get into your blood stream. Also when you do turn in make sure it is dark in your room. I also have a really hard time staying asleep. I found that by taking some melatonin and a third of a benedryl I could stay asleep. Also what hardbody was saying about progressive relaxation is so true, it works. I got into far east wellness tactics to help with ptsd and that shit has been a life line. I had to play some background music for the longest but now I have a fan that blows the paint off the walls. As long as I don't hear gunfire and mortars I think I'm ok.
AnonSublingual? How much?
TxBigBoyNo I wasn't even aware they had that, does it make a difference? And I think I take about 6-9mg. I think they are 3mg a piece.
AnonYes sublingual is much better and hits the blood stream faster ....I can't recall exact dosages but I know that you can up it to 15 to 20mg...I took it for a bit but my issue wasn't melatonin so I quit taking it..but switching to sub.ingual makes a huge difference
TxBigBoyYou were right the sublingual are much better. I took 12mg last night and it hit me pretty hard. I dont even think I'll need the ambien anymore with that, the extra cardio, and all the extra sex from the test. Thanks grrrl.
Anonlmao.. try to cut back and see how little you need .. how many mgs are the pills?
TxBigBoyThey are 6, I'ma try just one tonight and see how It goes.
TxBigBoyOk cool I'll check it out, I actually need to run to the store today anyways so I'll try it tonight, thanks
