Colon cancer, please do not want karma, just read the details below.
Today was one of the saddest days of my life. I just don't know how to cope and if any of you guys relate to this matter, your opinions or just what you think would be much appreciated.
I called my sister to find out how the doctors appointment with my dad went, she told me that he was still getting the check up done, so I called 2 hours later, before I called she sent me a text, saying: our dad is really sick, he needs surgery, they found colon cancer, it didn't hit me untill later on, I was just processing it through my head, I had to work tonight and infact as I'm writing this, I'm still at work, I just sat down in a corner and stared crying, just thinking and remembering when he used to seat me on his lap and kiss me, thought about seeing him coming from work with his little lunch back or just seeing him seating down on the table, i am 35 and he is 75, I only have a 4 year old but it kills me just to think that he might not be around.
So sorry if this is not appropriate but it is killing me.

There’s still hope don’t assume the worst. My grandma had part of her colon removed and she’s almost 90 and still kicking.
simba2018This is exactly what I need to hear bro.
Thanks!!
I’m sorry man, that is truly a hard thing to hear that about a family member.
Hey, mate. A friend of mine had colon cancer. He had surgery and the cancer and a piece of his colon has been removed. Then he had chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a artificial bowel exit which was restored back to normal after a few months. Chemo was really rough and he had to "learn" how and what to eat, without getting troubles. But he made it and is cancer free since around 2 years. Long story short, there is hope! Hope, this helps you a little. Stay strong, brother.
Colon cancer is one of the most known and research cancers and also one of the slowest ones so have faith, everything probably will be fine.
Be strong for him, he will want to see you happy.
I hope everything goes well.
Treat each day as if its the last mate. I wish you and your loved ones nothing but happiness and good health
simba2018Thanks for the advice man, and that's what I will do ;) we just need to have faith and a lot of hope
I lost my dad ten years ago and he was only 60. Luckily your dad is in good hands and you have some time. Leave nothing unsaid from here on out bro. That is my best advice
That means you’re most likely in your 40s.... I just got a better picture of you ole Pale..
simba2018Thanks bro, and yeah I will enjoy every single day with him, I have hope that he will be ok, it won't be easy.
And so sorry for your lost, did your dad die from cancer?
I’m so sorry you’re family is going through this fight. I have survived two primary cancers. It’s the most devastating news! Your entire family is now fighting this cancer. It’s important everyone stays strong for each other. Focus on the medical treatment path, now. Second and third opinions are so important. You want to get the best treatment for your father. Usually, this means traveling to high volume cancer centers. If your family can afford it, you need to get these opinions, from places such as MD Anderson, Mayo Clinic, Mass General, Dana-Farber.
Google things not to say to people fighting cancer. As you wrote, shower him with love. Hang in there bro.
simba2018Thanks bro, the journey will start next week, luckily I live in Nebraska, and Mr Buffet and his Wife just open a huge cancer center, from what I read it's top notch with the latest technology to treat cancer, it is a fight and we're all gonna fight with my old man.
You are a hope and an inspiration, knowing that cancer is not invincible, thanks bro!
UNMC is a great facility. Mayo, in Rochester, is only 5 hours away. At least push for one more opinion. Kick butt guys.
Sorry to read this, mine passed at 65 from it. Got to see him one last time in 16 years because he was never close. You sound like you have a great relationship and at his age things happen. Spend as much time as you can with him and learn family history and things about him you never knew cause life is not guaranteed.
simba2018Thanks man, he is always been a very quite man, didn't know how much I love my old man until today, I HOPE he can beat it, i am gonna tell him and let him know how much he means to me on daily basis. So sorry about your lost bro and thanks so much for your words, I Don't know how I feel right now, got off the phone with my wife and cried alot, haven't felt this sad.
I really appreciate that.
