Chicken vs fish.
ad
My main meat source right now is just fish (tilapia) and it's 12 dollars for 4 pounds which is not too bad. Chicken where I live is roughly 1.99 a pound at Walmart. The bad thing about chicken though is after trimming the fat you waste a good bit of money you spent unless you cook the fat with your chicken. And the good thing about fish is there isn't any waste or trimming. And with me living very close to the water I know I could go to a seafood distributor and buy in bulk for better pricing. So is fish really a better buy compared to chicken?

chicken, every time
Why's that?
I'm not a fan of chicken, have you seen how they live before slaughter? Eat what you want, save money elsewhere
Im liking the fish now alot honestly. Chicken has gotten old over the last few years plus there's alot you can do with fish I like mine with some mustard
Talapia is not a fish to eat more than one day a week. They are usually farmed with other fish and are used to eat/clean the waste of those fish. They are bottom feeders and since they eat waste, the amount of toxins they consume can be considerable. If you're going to eat fish, I would choose something else or eat talapia sparingly.
Ideally you want to be getting a mixture of poultry / fish / red meat / eggs due to the different amino profiles they provide. If money is tight, I guess do what you've got to do to get the protein in but I would try and avoid exclusively eating fish and try and have find neat in there too.
I eat 6oz of flank steak everyday as well. But yeah I knew about the different aminos would matter I just got to thinking how much money that ends up being a year just thrown out compared to nothing with fish
You know you can buy trimmed chicken, it's not fozen though.
Yeah but it's expensive as hell
68QDepends on where the fish lived. How much pesticides, mercury, and other contaminants are in them. Most lakes in the US have a guideline on the fish you can eat. Normally around 8oz a week. Some lakes it is none. Now the places walmart buy their chicken from have giant metal buildings that they raise chickens in. They control everything the chicken goes through including the feed and light. The chicken farmers do not even know what is in the feed they are feeding the chickens. It is provided by the company. they will all tell you that what ever the feed is it makes the chickens grow very fast. So I say pick your poison. I prefer the grass fed chicken because it taste better and does not shrink. If it is better or not for you I do not know. Depends on how much fertilizer and poison is on the grass they eat I would guess.
x2 except you forgot the radiation poisoning from Fukishima
