Carb loading with 4 cups of oatmeal before gym! :)

woop woop who uses oatmeal as a pre workout?

Interesting perspective. Typically when I take in oats 2-3 hours pre-workout, I have plenty of energy. It's not difficult to time correctly once someone gets a good idea of how fast their body metabolises certain foods. I could see how eating at certain times throughout the day could be an inconvinience with ppl being at work, etc. I'm curious about your idea of foods that you digest faster. Any other idea's besides glucose syrup? I'm willing to try new things

Good to know. I'll start researching glycemic index. Appreciate the input

I either have two cups of oats and 50g of whey or 15 egg whites with 2 bowls of oats with a little stevia everyday! Swear by it!! NEver done pre work out. I usually do 50 g of whey and for post I do the same with a few rice cakes (brown rice no salt)

2 hours before a morning workout with 30g of whey, cinnamon, and banana.

I do something similar with whey. I sip a shake after eating my giant bowl of complex carbs. I usually take one to the gym as well and do the same. It helps me immensely

I'll have to look into that. I have trouble eating 6,000cal a day sometimes. Thanks for the info. By the way, in the future, when you're having a conversation or replying to a specific post, click "reply" on the post you want to respond to. It will help avoid confusion when there is more than two ppl posting to each other. I don't mean it to be sarcastic, genuinly trying to help. It could get conusing if you get 6 different replys and you post from the main reply box ya know. Thanks again for the tip.

Bro, i've been 175-180lbs at 5' 9" my entire adult life. Always below 10% bf but recently decided to bulk and move my attention from fighting to bodybuilding. I'm currently 210lbs with a lot of dirty weight to shed. I'm working on it now, but it's tough to gain lean mass without taking in a ton of clean calories. So anything to help me eat i'm willing to try. Green tea sounds harmless enough

Try brown rice with no salt. Or stick with oatmeal. I guarantee that after one week of this, you won't ever use a stimulant as a pre-workout ever again. Nothing like food. I had great stamina and energy from just my diet. You have to help the juice along, it's only a tool. When it gets tough to eat I keep a calorie/vitamin high cal protein powder around. Its from GNC, 990 cal per shake, 50G of protein and a ton of vitamins and bcaa's. It helps on the days I can't eat the way I should. Green tea huh? Is it working?

I am a former fighter and this was my tactic. I would eat huge bowls of oatmeal (sometimes pasta) a couple hours prior to a fight or hardcore sparring session! It works better than any pre-workout bullshit you can buy (including tne)! Nothing powers the body quite like good complex carbs!
