Burger King

ad

Can someone help me understand why Burgerking's new Impossible Whopper has 44mg of Estrogen in it. This just seems a bit odd to me and not very healthy.

Impossible Whopper has 44mg of Estrogen in it.

That is a common misconception about soy, matter of fact I believed for years that soy increases estrogen.

But what it contains is Phytoestrogens which have a binding effect to the estrogen in your body , and the binding effect lowers your estrogen rather than raising it. Basically just like a serm

Don't always believe what you hear, read up on it for yourself .

Yea I'm not 100% sure on the science Steve, but there are at least 7 different studies I've found that support this theory of Phytoestrogens having anti-estrogenic properties.

When I was over seas , People in my unit swore up and down that a local energy drink called Wild Tiger had Nicotine in it, when in fact it was Nicotinamide which is just a B vitamin, but when they read the ingredients there mind saw Nicotine not Nicotinamide.

Just like when people see Phytoestrogens, they see Estrogen not the actual chemical and its function in the body. Speculation is the mother of all evils in the BBuilding game.

Geez, I thought all that "soy boy" nonsense was long dead.

I gotta wonder about guys who's masculinity is so frail they think food is going to turn them into girls.

Seems like a push to make people put down the all natural beef for a high processed plant garbage.
I went vegan before I didn't feel very good at all.

So since it'll weed out the weak, so veganism is a good thing?

parks's picture

I might order one if it was advertised as tasting good like vegetables, mushrooms or something, but it's advertised as tasting "just like beef". If I want something that tastes like beef I'll order a regular fucking burger.

It doesn't matter which meal I get from these fast food outlets - I always feel like utter shi* afterwards. The nutrient content in the bread, fries and processed meat is as useful as eating a cardboard box.

press1's picture

Thing is once you get so into your training & are running gear its Vital that every meal you eat is full of all the essentials, otherwise you have effectively just missed out on an opportunity to grow and recover for the next several hours. Plus you want to feel lifted and full of energy which that stuff is useless for.

johnmarshall12's picture

Because these fast food places don't care about nutrition. They throw anything in there.

You’d be healthier eating cow shit out of a field than that garbage.

I don’t recommend fast food but if your gonna eat it the BK whopper with no mayo or ketchup is easily the best choice.
Way lower in sat fat and sodium than other fast food burgers.
You can also order it keto.

Soy protein man... it’s garbage

I kinda want a whopper tho now. I haven’t had Burger King in forever. I usually get it if I’m on a road trip, so like once a year I have fast food and it’s almost always Burger King, but I didn’t this year. So it’s been at least 2 years. Might be in my near future.

Wouldn't the estrogen bother your levels if you ate enough of them.

I’d imagine if you at enough of it. I don’t think one or two burgers is gonna matter but it still isn’t good for you.

It just seems really weird that it's estrogen is even in them too me

Soy is full of phytoestrogens. I will use soy sauce because a small amount isn’t gonna kill me, and I’ll have a couple edamame if I’m out for sushi, but in general I avoid soy. Definitely weird foods made out of soy.

The only thing soy is good for (other than soy sauce) is synthesizing testosterone, but they use yams for that too, and if I had my choice I’d only pin test made from yams... just to send a message to soy lol
