Building his Bridge
I've been here a very long time. One of the longest standing members here and over my nearly two full years I've come to think of Eroids as my family. I've at times been extremely guarded, extremely lucid and at time vulnerable. I've always been accepted here even when I've been a prick and the Admin team had banned me. Well I live a life that is closely guarded and isolated. For various reasons.
Eroids is the one place I feel secure enough to express my most emotional and heartfelt thoughts and guys now is one of them. For those who know the real me. The original Handle me, know that I have a very special relationship with my nephew. This boy was born during a time where I had forsaken his existence and even gone as far as telling my sister it would be best if she aborted this boy. God the thought of those words coming out of my mouth still bring tears to my eyes and haunt me to this very day.
Well god bless my sister for being braver than I have her Credit for. The boys father was a druggie loser who from the get go said he wanted no part in this boys life. She gave birth to this wonderful child in spite of the odds against her. True courage is a majestic thing to witness. In the hospital room my mother introduced me to my nephew and like an asshole I said I didn't want to hold him. Like a mother who knows her son my mom practically threw this boy into my hands and if I didn't grab and hold Him he surely would've fallen to
the ground. In that moment my life changed forever. He stole My heart and became the best friend I have ever had. I cried with remorse as I gazed into his eyes. When he looked into my eyes he giggled and reached out almost with a smile. My soul mate had found me. This was the beginning of an amazing adventure.
As the years went by our bond became closer and stronger and more fiercely loyal. I took him everywhere. On my vacations, to ball games, to parties at friends houses, barbecues. You name wherever I went he went. It is still
This way today.
Well during his kindergarten year of school he started having issues. He always had a speech impediment. I call it slurring but he couldn't
Pronounce his r's and different sounds. He couldnt Read or write very well. He could play the shit out of his game boy and play station but learning was becoming a huge obsticle.
So my sister being the amazing woman she is wanted answers. She didn't settle for the Your son is retarded answer. She dove deeper and deeper until Finally my nephew was diagnosed with Dysperaxia here is a link: https://www.google.com/search?q=dyspraxia&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client...
After years of therapy and occupational therapy and special schools and fighting with public school boards my nephew is thriving. He is still struggling to read and write. But the amazing part is his control of his motor skills are advancing at a rate that is truly a miracle. He just finished his rugby season and this last weekend begun condition for junior football. He is working out on his own volition and traing for his own pride. Without pushing him his has taken control of his physical Fitness and his own destiny. For any Child to do this is cause for immense pride. But for my 13 year old nephew this truly is a miracle. Last night I went to see him after practice. He was exhausted and sore and starving. But when I got
There all he wanted to do was have me help him get his 3 point stance down better. We worked for another hour on the grass getting it right.
I am overwhelmed with pride. I am full of joy and bursting with immense love for this nephew who truly is like a son to me. I have no one else to share this with. I only have my Eroids family who may appreciate the story of a developmentally disabled child overcome
Gaps in his motor skills by building his bridge to bring him to his goals. It's not how
Good you are in life. It's how hard you try. For my nephew to do what he is doing just simply put is the greatest accomplishment I have ever witnessed in my 33yrs of life. He at 13 is already a better man then I ever will be. This is for my nephew. For my blood, For my honor, for my pride and for the gift this young man has given me. Just amazing folks. I tear as I write these words and I could care less if you don't understand but for anyone with a child with special Needs I pray that one day this feeling comes to you.
So this toast is for MY Nephew! The best man ill ever know!!

Awesome!!
Sounds like you have one he'll of a nephew. You are blessed. But he is blessed also to have an uncle that cares for him the way you do! Cheers to your nephew raises a glass (of water.. Hehe)
I got married 3 years ago, my wife had 4 kids, the second oldest has Autism. I can relate to what you are saying, and then some, God Bless!
What finafan said....... Bro, I've read about all your posts. We've joked around some. I can definitely say you're a hell of a man, and with a role model like you, the sky's the limit for your nephew. Think of all the positives he's added to your life, and realize he's benefitted just as much. My daughter is bipolar and has aspergers. It gets discouraging hearing most of the time that " can't " do this or that. The reality is they have gifts many people don't have. Given the proper setting, they'll find their way. When they do , they can accomplish things most " normal " people couldn't. Much respect to you brother.
Kiss my ass for making a grown man cry
Brother, that was written so beautifully and eloquently. To be quite honest, I gave way to tears. What a great and strong man you trully are. I hope the best for your nephew and as long as you are in his life he will keep progressing. It is an honor and a privilege to have you as a friend. I, too, toast to your nephew.
That's awesome man! Thanks for sharing
Dude after reading this my eyes began to water. It made me think back 10 years ago when I told this real cuite girl that we should consider an abortion because I did not want children. Well that cutie girl is my wife of 9 great years and our son has been the best thing that ever happened to me. I give you major props for stepping up and being the male role model your nephew needs, especially at this time in his life. Your nephew is a true inspiration more prof that if you want something bad enough, nothing will stop you.
AnonJust an update on my nephew. Coach is putting him on the D-Line! After last weeks conditioning I asked him how things went. He told me that the coach didn't have to correct his technique at all:)
My best friend was O-line in high school and junior college. Could've gone to a Uni but he was a bit of a knuckle head. He's been working with my boy 2x a week. What a difference a couple of weeks has made. The kid runs the neighborhood every day without being told to do so:) he keeps going further n further.
Peep this out. Today over dinner we were talking about his fees and cleats and I know my sister is tight with two kids in private school and my nephews therapy so I asked him if he was serious about the season. His response? " Uncle, I will never start something I won't finish!" Wow! I forked over 350$ for the season and we went and bought him some badass Nike cleats after dinner. Fuck this kid is going to be expensive!! He's got expensive taste!
AnonYour writing, your sentiments and your love always brings a tear to my eye. It is just so genuine

A journey of a million miles begins with the First step..
You know I consider you to be family no matter what your "status" is or what name you run under. I can feel the love you have for your nephew and it makes me a bit teary eyed. Thank you for brining us this story it reminds me that there is still lots of love out there.
AnonMy sweet sister Grrrl:) Thank u for always being such a strong woman for me at times. I've needed your guidance and love on more than a few occasions. If it wasn't for Eroids I would never have met u. Thank god I found this site and am lucky enough to still be here even if its just a part of who I once was. I'm great full every day I'm around this kid of mine. He's shown me what true courage is. He's been my conscience at times and even chastised me over how I talk to his Tia(my wife) God growing up he was in love with her! He still is so protective over her and takes care of her like a good boy. I'm very blessed to have the family I have in my life. Blood related and those of you from this wonderful site!! Love ya baby girl!
God bless you and your whole family you are a man with a big heart and a compassionate soul! You have helped me out from the beginning and always showing me respect. Your honesty and and love for your family comes as no surprise to me!
AnonI told u before Pank you have always been one of the men here who ooze honor and loyalty and respect. I know the journey your life has gone though makes mine look like an amusement park. To know a man of your background and caliber would speak that way of me is very humbling. Thank you for that. I hope the story of my nephew and his journey strikes a cord in some anonymous reader who thinks life is rough. Every ones journey is unique and rough in their own respective ways. But seriously brother this kid couldn't even run 5 ft without falling when he was a kid. He would panic if he tried to climb a tree or a fence. He could barely be understood when he was young. Now he is articulate and thoughtful and tells the dumbest jokes you've ever heard!!! But the fact that he can do all of those things he couldn't before is proof that my life is blessed. To see him lay somebody out playing rugby was truly one of the best moments of my life.

Real friends/family, those that are real beyond "convenience" are the ones still standing behind you when shit gets ugly, tough, not easy. That big crowd of people behind will thin real fng quick once theirs nothing in it for them but friendship and you're not having your best days. You have always struck me as one of those actual "loyal" people and the tears reading this kinda confirm it for me too.
You have been a good friend to me and a "real person" as well and I appreciate it. I thank God your nephew crossed your path because I suspect as he looks behind him when things are tough in his life you'll be in that thin crowd of "real" people. Love ya brother and all you are !
Hate to do this in your thread but know you well and know you'd love to hear it. I've watched that hurd thin behind me over the years too but recently got a little busy with business and running back and forth between 2 cities and had a friend here reach out to me in a very real way. Honestly I was just telling him how busy things were but nothing I can't handle at all, in fact I love busy but still, no big deal really at all not more than I can handle by any means. Long story short T-Luva emailed me and said he was flying in the next day to help out for a while any way he could and spend a couple weeks doing so. Well I stopped him knowing I'd be on the run mostly and at this time not get to hang much and honestly there's just not enough to do to bring him over at the molment but the point is, this guy ready to drop his world and fly into mine to make it better somehow. This is a man such as yourself...selfless. I love him like a brother and I now know he's in the thin group of people that would as the saying goes, "do anything for me".
People will tell you that shit all day long as you well know at your age now but the truth is, its usually if its "convenient". Hardcore friendship is proven when its not only not convenient, its a royal pain in your ass! You are that guy as well SM...selfless and funny thing is as you well know, those people have the greatest rewards of all?. The people not looking for reward that is. I need not read far into your story to know you gain much more from this love and this relationship and its because you reached out to do that which was not easy. You know its a blessing and not a curse now and knwoing people challenged in anyway usually is. They want so little and that makes you want to give more and the more you give the more you receive...but then you know that.
Proud friend of your right hurrrrrr!
PS...always feels good when you check in on me when I'm not being very selfless my dayum self. Want you to know it means a lot to me and I've always spoke highly of you within my (our) circles....Love you always brudda!
AnonU my man have just humbled me beyond words. I was so happy just to know I once worked side by side with you on the EBC. We helped take it to the next level. But to know the friendship built during that time was strong enough to last when my road here became rough. During my hiatus I searched for a vision quest brother. I looked and looked for something that would help me find who I am. When the dust settled I found myself right back here and thank u for all of the countless night I read and re-read your posts. They guided me unbeknownst to you during some of the hardest parts in my AAS journey. The way you are so selfless with your time and knowledge is basically how I've tried to model myself. To answer every PM. To spur ideas and different thought processes when the status quo was good enough for everyone else.
Reading what you just wrote is one of the nicest and kindest things anyone here has ever said to me. Loyalty my friend isn't something that gets taken lightly with me. Thank you for always having faith in me and being my friend when it really wasn't the popular thing to openly admit.
U are welcome at my table anytime brother!

Wow bro, this really went deep on me. My wife work as special education teacher and she explain how proud she fells when i kid with slow development goes from dont know how to read nor talk, to read, count and even interact with people. I said something amont the same lines to my former GF when i found out she was pregnant & i regret those words that came out of my mouth till this day, that lil boy changed my life 180° he is my inspiration and the person who puts the color in my life. God bless you bro for being such a great man with that boy.
RustyhookerDamn bro! That nephew is a helluva trooper! Lucky for him you're there to help him as a big bro and role model.
Just brought a couple of tears to my eyes there brother.... I would like to say I know "the real you" and from our previous interactions I know the words you write are from the heart, your post will be cruising through my mind for the next few hours before I hit the sack... you know me that I do know and you also know I wouldn't engage here if I really did not want to... I wish you and the family all the best brother
AnonThank u brother. God I wish my past mistakes never came to pass. The bond you and I share won't ever be forgotten. Glad u made it pass the cut. You make a much better Mod than I ever did. Thank u for giving me a second chance brother. Not having eroids in my world was a sad life bro
You probably remember all of my "one liners" bro... but here I go again......
Today is the first day of the rest of your life... make it a good one
AnonAmen:)
It's amazing what it takes sometimes to humble us. That was a great read Mexy!
Thanks for sharing. It is stories like yours that make you stop and take stock..
