Brown recluse spider

ad

These are some pictures of a brown recluse I took in my house. I have been infested with these guys for about 15 years. Luckly no one has been bitten yet.

My mother was bitten by a brown recluse years ago. The bite itself was painless. Then it developed a black pit and th tissue started to die after a few days. Long story short, after two surgerys they were able to stop the necrosis but she was left with a softball size hole in her outer thigh. It has somewhat fill in over the years and the skin has come back but the indention in her leg is still about half a tennis ball. It was also very sickening almost like mono with a hangover. I kill every spider i see.

Any reason why the sydney funnel web spider scares you more than a black widow or brown recluse? If the page on wikipedia is to be believed, there have been no reported fatalities from sydney funnel web spider bites since the antivenom was developed in 1981.

When I was in prison, one of these bit a guy two cells down from me during the afternoon count----and he died.

Ok all kidding aside. I don't know the makeup of your house, but you need to get ride of these spiders now. If you are infested with these things then move out temporarily. If you have kids around it's a must. These spiders are very dangerous. They hang out in closets and dark places, like shoes and pockets, dark corners. They are not to be taken lightly. Their bite is worse than a rattlesnakes. I know people that have been bit and where out of work for 6-8 months. " Luckily noone has been bitten yet"?? Don't chance it, get this taken care of immediately. The bites are very harsh for kids.
I will see if I can get some of the information they give us at work, but here are a couple of links. Call an Exterminator!!!
A link to some information about prevention and first aid just in case.

Did I ever say that anyone died? YOU saying anything about anyone blowing something out of proportion is crazy. As far as the picture, you are wrong. It's not the go to picture for many people. There are worse pictures than this out. I do know people who have been bitten with results close to this picture. It's how you treat it after the bite that counts. Can't post them, they belong to the company I work for. We deal with these spiders daily at work. This is a public picture from search to get something quick and why I used it.As far as your bite, I'm sure you didn't get the full effect of the venom. Everybody is different and venom is more/less potent throughout the year.
But this thread is not about you. I'm trying for prevention for him and whoever is in the house. So for you to say It's blown out of proportion, tell the guy at my work that lost his finger from a bite that. I'm sure he would love to discuss that with you.

I would drop down dead from a heart attack if I saw one of those. I can't even stand the sight of flies, moths or ants :S
