Hey Hey! New to the site, but impressed by the forum!
Hey,
My name is Melody...
I have been battling my body for quite a few years,
i was always slim, until a really bad diet and depression set in years ago, got upto a whopping 14stone... at 5 ft... thats NEVER good!
I used a mixture of sibutramine (ordered from india at £96!!) and pure protien diet.... after a few years of Sibu i manged to get to 12st .. then my dad needed a kidney causing me to get into my 10st mark through determination and good eating/exersize..
Operation was a massive success and i managed after that to get to 8stone 13lbs which was amazing....
I have snuck up back to 10st.. Feeling pretty annoyed, My appitite is a massive player in my life, i try and stick to my high protien diet, but by the evening im craving carbs like a rabid wolf, so keep failing....
So im here to get tips, tricks and support with any luck...
Im ordering a cross trainer tomrrow , so i will try and be on that daily, i have a hate relationship with the scales, and know that working out will hinder the weight on the scales...
SO if anyone wants to touch that blurb with some advice or something.. feel free
Hi btw

Welcome, read a lot and ask questions in the various subforums here and you will get a wealth of knowledge.
I recommend carb cycling as well.
ive never done carb cycling... Litrally stuck to protein and not alot else... I should look into it, thanks all
Have you considered carb cycling? If I diet too aggressivly and get some crazy out of control cravings when I'm doing low carbs, my leptin levels are too low, I have a clean refeed and it helps reduce the cravings for the week. Welcome to the community
Have you read John Kiefers' Carb Night book? Excellent book on carb cycling!
No, I'll have to look it up!
It is a free PDF. Very eye opening and very very unorthodox. But his science is impeccable. He holds a masters in particle physics and he was a body builder expounding on other research. He does not make any statement in his books that he does not back up with peer review journals and factual medical studies. The reason his background appeals to me is because as an engineer I appreciate a more circumspect approach being backed by science and experience rather than the age old rhetoric the diet gurus have been spitting for years and years.
That is a very interesting combination, particle physics and body building! I love when someone has not only scientific theory as to why things work the way they do but the studies to back it up. Seems like everyone now a days has a new diet strategy that everyone is more them happy to stand behind with no concrete science as to why..
Don't beat yourself up you have had some life throw some curve ball's at you. Sounds like you still have the want to and motivation to move forward. Keep it up and keep moving forward steady and slow. You can fr me if you want to ask questions I will try to answer. Best of luck to you. Oh yea and welcome :-)
Welcome
