Shoulder Pain
Whenever I do shoulder or chest workouts I get an excruciating stabbing pain in my right shoulder. After 4-5 sets the pain subsides. I went to my primary care Dr and he reffered me to an orthopedic surgeon. He did an MRI and said everything was fine and chalked it up to old age,but I'am only 36 I consider that still relatively young.
My question is has anyone had any problems similiar to this and if so what did they do to treat it? I've also read there are certain peptides that can aid in recovery of injured areas. Not saying I would go that route but if anyone here believes it could help what recommendation on peptides could you give me,so I could do further research on that particular product.
I thank you in advance for all feedback and advice pertaining to this issue.,

Dude I just went through this exact same thing. I stopped sleeping on my right shoulder and took time off and it healed. I started slow using the bands in the gym. Also I stayed away from barbell shoulder presses for a few months and stuck with dumbbells. The thing I believed that helped the most is not sleeping on it. Not sure if this will help you but it is what worked for me. I am completely recovered and my pain was bad.
You aren't being specific here. Most are assuming the pain is from the joints. It may be but it can be also be from the muscles. You should try to determine that.
I get shoulder pains from time to time, but they are not from the joints in my case. Usually strains, tears, pulls.
Heaze2016Its def not my joints, the pain is between 2 muscles. So my 1st assumption was a tear, I'am thinking about going to get a 2nd opinion from another Dr
I have a similar experience with my left shoulder doing my pec work. I found that if I rotate in a new pec exercise into my routine every week and drop one off my pain subsides. My theory was that I was doing too much repetitive exercise and not changing my routine enough. I still get the intensity that I need weekly for my peck growth. and change the angles of my pec workout entirely every six weeks. It worked for me and I feel my growth has improved also.

This may help. Joint pain sucks.
have a question about the link but didn’t wanna post on an old thread. When u say rotate the thumbs while pulling back u mean rotate back or forward? Mine won’t go too much farther back. For that matter my hands don’t make it past my shoulders.
Sorry it is taking so long to answer. Problems with email notification. Yes as you do it you should point your thumbs behind you. Google Jeff cavalier "shoulder pain "
Never tried that one before I’ll have I look it up. Thanks for the info
The man is genius!
I have a similar issue with my right knee and shoulder periodically I just take a few week off then do a week or two of calisthenics only and ice it religiously during that time seems like just that works for me. I had the same issue the first time MRI showed nothing wrong other than the obvious inflammation and I got sent to physical therapy after a cortisone shot (which the shot kind of ended up making things worse) this is mostly stuff you can do on your own if you do the research. The physical therapy exercises did aid in relief but going to the trainer was expensive and I had some great insurance at that time since then I just do the exercises we did in there on my own and research new ones. Hope you get better best of luck
Watch Jeff cavaliers video on shoulde pain.Youtube can save you a lot of pain.
if the MRI showing it’s fine and confirmed by the doctor why the hell you think you have injury because you have a little pain in that area maybe you break too much muscle fiber in that area
Take a rest for one week let your body rest and then go to the gym lift light for the first week and see how it is feel
I have a torn labrum in each shoulder and a frayed rotator in the right. Impingement in both. So yeah o understand ur frustration. I stopped lifting heavy and after a week of rest was able to do light weight. And I mean light. I’ll pick a weight I can do 50-100 reps and focus on form the whole set. I’ve heard it helps strengthen connective tissue as well as build/retain muscle. I can’t get my shoulders sore ever but taking some 10lb dumbbells and doing 100 strict lateral raises wrecks me. No pain at all as long as form is my number one concern.
Also changing my grip really helps. Bring the grip in on the bench press and don’t flare ur elbows. A big help for me was activating my lats and rear delts prior to pressing to stabilize the joint and actively contracting them while lowering the bar. For dumbbell presses, pull downs, and pull ups I usually only use neutral grip because it’s more natural for the shoulders to not be externally rotated and in flexion.
If it still hurts don’t do it for a while. I stuck with it for months before I was able to get back to other grips and rep ranges. Best of luck
If it hurts, don’t do it for a while. Are you still lifting heavy all the time? I’ve gone almost exclusively to higher reps and lower weights and my joints are much better. Mix things up and do some research on new lifts, exercises, stretches, yoga, etc. I have lots of ailments, but I’ve found ways to work around them.
Heaze2016I stopped lifting heavy when the problem arose, out of fear of dropping the weights. I seen a few good suggestions on here that I plan on trying them especially with switching up my routine. I also seen the suggestion of using BPC-157 thats also another route that I plan on researching further. I'd hate to rely on a supplement, but I'am at my wits end about it and willing to try anything to get back to 100%.
jayiski was amazed that bpc-157 not only healed but completely fixed my knee, hamstring, and shoulder when i slightly injured or tweaked them. took about 10 days for each which were on separate occasions.
without it i would have had to take time off and lose strength and size.., and the problem would more than likely pop back up esp that i powerlift.
"bpc-157 is just a peptide made up of 15 amino acids; and is produced by the body in the acidic environment of the stomach.
There are three major processes by which BPC 157 plays a vital role in wound healing; angiogenesis, granulation tissue formation, and production of collagen. All of these mechanisms are central to any healing process occurring within the body.
Angiogenesis is a process where new blood vessels are formed around the site of injury. It allows new blood vessels to send oxygen, nutrients, and inflammatory cells to the healing and regenerating tissues. BPC 157 increases the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) that promotes angiogenesis"
Personally around the age you are know I had to change my workouts. My grip on bench became narrow, flys were a no go for a long time. Inclined no good. Try doing reverse grip bench instead of flat bench for 3 months. Don’t flare your arms out on any movement including dips. Don’t do any movement behind the neck. See what happens. If it hurts don’t do it.
X2
dumbbell shoulder presses are a no go too. Once it was my favourite exercise now I prefer the smith machine.
I have the same, my doc said its a nerve issue but BPC helped me a lot!
If you have pain , everything is not alright. There is usually something going on. Good thing to see the dr though. Always the best place to start. I can only speak from my experiences but awhile back I had pretty bad elbow tendonitis and a similar pain in my shoulder. I lightned the weight I was lifting. Rested it as much as possible although probably not enough and I did use certain peptides. While I have not been lifting that much lately I have been playing competitive baseball and I can say my arm feels pretty dam good. My tendonitis is gone and my shoulder only bothers me if I throw too much. I am old after all lol! I had used the same peptides from another source a couple yrs ago and had no luck but this time around whether coincedence or better product my pain is gone. But at the end of the day rest is best.
Ive had all kind of injuries and pain. Shoulder problems, knee problems, and a nasty case of golfers elbow. I am 36 years young too. I have tried the peptides with little to no success. The only advice I can give you is rest up. Probably not what you wanted to hear but its the only thing that makes the pain go away. After 22 years of lifting heavy, I learned to know my limits or pay the price. People still ask me what I max out at, I just tell them I dont max out anymore lol. At least you were smart enough to see the doc. Youre blessed everything checked out well. Good luck on your recovery.
Maybe you should try diclofenac in the morning and one iin the evening before you go to sleep and some rest i dont say it would help but you can try it
