Severe Acne

ad

I'm a 33 year old male. Started using anabolics in my early 20s and essentially stayed on for 10 or so years. About 2 or so years ago I decided to come off everything, crash my levels, and give TRT a go. Unfortunately, doctor wouldn't give me more than 50mg per week. I ended up giving up on TRT and was a castrated male for 6 or so months.

However, roughly six weeks ago, I stated dabbling in using UGLs, exotic compound, and a higher test dose. In the past, I have NEVER had issues with acne on my face. I had the occasional back acne, but it never bothered me. But for the past six or so weeks, I have been experiencing moderate/severe acne on my cheeks only.

In the past, I blasted grams of test, high doses of tren, and have essentially experimented with every readily avaliable anabolic. Again, NEVER had acne. I really don't want to have to completely abandon ship on my current run. Taking 400mg test and 400mg DHB.

Is this something I have to permanently live with now? Anyone have any idea why I never had this issue and now all of a sudden my face is breaking out like crazy?

My gameplay is to cut my doses in half. 200mg test and 200mg DHB a week. Wondering if this will clear it up?

Hey man, sounds like your hormones are going wild right now, and your skin’s just reacting to it. Basically, testosterone and DHB ramp up oil production in the skin — too much oil clogs your pores, and that leads to breakouts. Even if you never had facial acne before, your skin might be more sensitive now after the crash and hormonal rebound. It happens, especially after long-term suppression and then jumping into higher doses again.

Cutting the dose might help a bit, but honestly, if you’re already in that moderate-to-severe phase, it probably won’t be enough. At this stage, the only thing that really shuts this down for good is Accutane. I get that you’re hesitant because of your wife’s experience, and yeah, it’s a strong drug with potential side effects. But under the right doctor, with proper monitoring, it can seriously be life-changing. Nothing else works as well long-term, especially when hormones are driving the acne.

You’re not stuck with this forever, but trying to ride it out or fix it with just dose adjustments probably isn’t gonna cut it. If you want to stay on cycle and keep things under control, you’ll likely need to bring in the heavy hitters.

I agree with everything you said. Doubt decreasing the dose will help. Not sure if it will even clear up going off completely, but it’s definitely worth a try. If it still doesn’t clear up within a few months of finishing the cycle then accutane is basically the only option. I had a great experience with accutane. It’s no anywhere near as scary as those old class action lawsuit commercials made it seem lol.

It’s up to you, but I’d rather try a different lab like Eagles mentioned than throw another drug in the mix. Accutane scares me, too.

Definitely don't want to take accutane. My wife took the stuff and it absolutely destroyed her. Years later she still suffers from lifelong side effects.

What long term side effects? I had bad acne before I started gear and had to do a 6 month run of accutane. Can’t remember exactly what dose I went up to but atleast 80mgs. Worked like a charm. Chapped lips during it then all good once I stopped. Years later I used it in low doses when coming off cycle as there when I would typically break out and same thing, some chapped lips and that’s it. My derm was very pro accutane.

What side effects did she end of getting that became lifelong?

It may have something to do with the UGL you are using and the carrier oil, solvent or something similar in the gear. I’ve been using for 15 years and never had bad acne except for one blast using a UGL Sust (non-traditional; contained esters like acetate that aren’t in the “traditional” Sust blend). It is highly concentrated (~450 mg/ml) and my God did I break out like a mother fucker. I’ve still got very slight scars on my shoulder and back. I tried it one more time thinking the first time was a fluke and same thing. I’ve used countless other oils from this SRC and never had an issue. It was just something about that specific blend.

You may want to try a different UGL to see if that helps and if not try Accutane. I’m personally scared of it because of all of the sides that some users have reported over the years.

Long story short, take accutane. I had the same issues with high dosages of just test. Accutane cleared everything. The only side effect I have is dry lips — use Vaseline/chapstick. Worth it to me.

Agreed, not to glorify accutane as it's quite a hefty drug but doing any other acne routine is a waste of time in comparison, you can wash with salicylic acid, use antibiotics, whatever, but none comes close to the effectiveness of accutane / isotretinoin.

Dry lips was my only side as well, never met anyone who had the mental sides of it yet.
