+ 13 Rest in peace Izzy75
ad
I asked in a forum the other day where izzy75 has been.
His dear wife reached out today under his acct and informed me that he passed away sep 14 from a heart attack in his sleep.
Obviously I only knew him from here. But the little I did know him, I learned that he played drums (he spied a guitar in a TD pic of mine), listened to hard rock and was always down to talk gear and training. I feel terrible.
I'm sure at least some of you guys knew him. Figured I should pass along the news.
Rest in peace Izzy.

Anyone who takes fish oils on the reg, take them before bed.
Any cholesterol meds/statins, take it before bed same with garlic/heart health stuff before bed.
Most clotting happens between 3am & 6am.
Man that's sad.. I didn't know him but it looks like he was loved by many. My prayers are with his family. RIP
One of the good guys for sure. RIP Izzy.
Damn. RIP, Prayers to his loved ones. Still going to jam in spirit.
Damn man, I talked to him a lot, emails, shit I offered him a job if he could make his way here. Gonna miss you bud, may you rest in peace, comfort, and happiness. If his family can read this, my condolences and may god bless you.
Sorry about this mate, I know you were very good pals with him for a long time. Horrible, doesn't seem real almost.
Its always the good ones that go first...
Man, I’ve been using juice since I was 38. Not long but this type of shit makes me want to call it quits. I know some of my injuries were exacerbated from this stuff ( weakening of tendons, cartilage)- I’ve had several surgeries that were needed cuz of the juice. Honestly I’ll never know. Not to mention the internal issues from it. Who knows. It has changed my life and helped keep me sober. I feel for this man’s family. I didn’t know him , but I did because I am sure some of his struggles were the same. Prayers.
R.I.P. Izzy75
Idk you bro but anyone that's a friend of bills is a friend of mine glad you passed while in recovery this isn't goodby but see you later!

Wow...rip!!
Rip bro
I only talked to you a few times, always very helpful and kind. Safe travels brother
I didn't know Izzy but I'll keep him and his family in my prayers, RIP brother
Oh man. RIP. This is terrible. I don’t think he was even 50. Prayers for his family.
For those who are members of the Recovery Lounge group and can view this, this is a little bit about Izzy and the way he had changed his life around - and would always be there to help anyone on here who needed to talk and was feeling lost with things.

I remember him well. RIP brother. He will be missed in the Lounge.
Man I remember that post and is exactly what popped into my head as I didn’t have a ton of interactions with him.
I know anyone who has been through addiction has experienced similar struggles.
I hope his family is okay.
Did he ever discuss or know about any pre-existing conditions?
Morbid curiosity always will have ya wondering, but all we can do now is remember and hope he’s resting well.
Sad.
I still bring up aerok’s story to instill how serious this environment can be.
I've just been looking through all of our many PM's over the last year and there is nothing in there about any illness or problems that he may of had, He did have a problem with his hands/fingers and I think he had recently had to have one of them removed but cannot remember the reason why that was. I've known him so many years that things like that tend to be said in the early days and there is nothing that sticks in my mind. He didn't run big cycles or anything like that - from what I remember they were the typical 400mg Test/400mg NPP type ones. He used the same labs as me most of the time.
Isn’t that a similar cycle to what your friend BillG was running when he passed? I’m just speculating, but what if NPP is a lot harder on the heart vs deca since it’s released so much faster. I think back to 90s and early to late 2000s bodybuilders when there just didn’t seem to be anywhere near as many deaths, and NPP was extremely uncommon. Everyone ran deca which has a much slower and steadier release. On 350mg ew split into 2 shots you’re actually getting between 26-36mg of nandrolone ED. On 350mg ew NPP taken at 100mg EOD you get about 51mg on high day and 21mg on the low day.
I do not think that’s the case. NPP and nandrolone (while more often Deca than Prop) in general is one of the few steroids that has had pretty extensive clinical trials and testing done.
Deca was FDA approved at one point and was only withdrawn willingly by the manufacturer. The FDA confirmed it wasn’t pulled due to safety concerns. I’ve even seen NPP used in cancer trials for possible protein & tumor growth changes. Used in lots to sustain weight during illness.
While the rise in BP is very common that is with lots of stuff.
Has definitely sparked my curiosity and I will do some research, but just from what I’ve personally experienced, seen, and been exposed to I don’t think NPP itself is drastically damaging to the heart.
I hope you’re right about that. There are a ton of studies done on rats at doses equivalent to what we use on cycle, such as 500mg ew and as well as many at higher doses, and all show the same. Rapid damage to the heart. Collegan deposits leading to cardiac fibrosis, LVH, significant reductions in systolic and diastolic function, fetal gene re-expression, increase in inflammatory cytokines in the heart etc etc. based on these studies it’s very bad stuff. However, I have never been able to find a cardiac focused study on low dose, like 100-200mg ew. So maybe it’s totally fine at the doses the company tested and the fda approved it at. That’s what I’m banking on lol.
Agreed it’s really interesting!
Theres some studies that show it contributes, accelerates, or even causes conditions, though it’s often in dosages that would be very extreme in humans (even to us gear whores).

This was is interesting and states that light & intense exercise both prevent the effect of nandrolone on the production of hydroxyproline and fibrotic cardiac remodeling- https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6511393/
Though again most of these are not human studies or trials. I am in the same camp with smaller dosages. It seems that problems arise the most when it’s being abused.
I’ve read into and studied in the past, but even the past couple of years some new stuff has popped up so thanks for giving me something to dig into!
Ya there are some studies that did insane dosages. Many of them are way beyond what even a 300lb IFBB pro would run. So really not applicable to us. But there are a few on doses equivalent to what we would take, like 5mg/kg so for me that’s a little under 500mg ew which I have ran in the past. And they are almost all bad. I have read the one you found that exercise mitigated the negative cardiac side effects. That one always gave me hope lol. Wish there were more like that.
A handful of TRT clinics are prescribing deca now at dosages up to 200mg ew. Hopefully they’ve done extensive research on it and determined at low dosages like that it’s not harmful.
What you're citing is the main reason I haven't already tried npp. Otherwise it sounds like a dream come true - Get huge and strong as hell In a hurry. Seems like there's definitely a trade off with everything.
Definitely makes you think.
To be fair to nandrolone tons of people have ran it for years without issue. I ran lots of it back in the day and had a full cardiac workout done 2 summers ago and the cardiologist said my heart was perfect. I’m sure it’s more of a genetic predisposition type thing for who ends up having serious cardiac issues from it. It’s probably ok at moderate doses. It was designed to have less side effects than test. The anabolic properties without the strong androgenic properties.
On the other hand there’s a study done comparing test to nandrolone at 300mg ew and it found the difference in LBM gained was negligible. People smarter than me are now saying the different compounds don’t really build more of less muscle than the others at equivalent doses, they have other differing effects but muscle gain is roughly the same. It’s more about total mgs. So on like 1000mg of test you’d gain roughly the same amount of muscle as you would on like 500mg of test and 500mg of NPP. But for some people 500/500 would have less side effects than a gram of straight test so other drugs may still be beneficial to get the total mgs up where they want while minimizing side effects. And by equivalent doses I don’t mean mg to mg. Some compounds are stronger or weaker than others so the equivalent dose of one may be a few hundred mgs higher or lower than another. But general I think most people’s goals can be achieved with just test at moderate dosages.
I can't say for sure thats what Izzy ran in terms of NPP, I was just meaning those kind of low to middle of the road toxic compounds at those doses as opposed to say 750mg Test and 600 Deca as such plus an oral. He may of been a masteron man or EQ.
Lets hope not on the NPP front as I should of been a gonner a few years back if thats the case.
Me too man. NPP was my shit back in the day.I was never patient enough to wait around for deca to kick in lol. And I’m on NPP now for my joints and it’s working beautifully at 100mg ew. I’m gonna see how low I can go with it. I’ve heard people say they got the joint benefits as low as like 40mg ew.
Makes me wonder if his family opted for the autopsy route as it was in his sleep. Lots of times it’s hard to identify specifics without it. Definitely wouldn’t feel right asking his wife just a month after.
I really do wonder if he had some pre-existing heart or severe blood issues. Most of the time they ID heart attacks by the clotting, scarring, blockages, damaged muscle, etc.
We opted for an autopsy with my granddad as he was walking and yelled out my grandmothers name before dropping deadweight at a family event and we all wanted to know. Most likely thought it was a heart attack, stoke, or similar tragic acute injury but it brought some peace of mind to know.
Man I really feel for him re-reading his posts and humor makes me wish I got to know him better. He seemed truly grateful to be given that second shot at living happy and sober. I still am struggling picturing what his wife went through… to wake up next to the person you love and they’ve passed along at such a young age must be traumatizing. I really hope she’s doing alright.
Steroids will of course speed health issues up but a lot of this will come down to genetics as well as lifestyle. There are top athletes and footballers on strict and healthy lifestyles who get checked by medical teams with no issues then they drop down dead.
One of my best friends died right in front of me had to give him cpr and nothin. Heart attack got him - He never took a steroid in his life just born with certain genetics.
Sorry to hear, that must have been disturbing to say the least. None of us know what’s ahead. Live, love and laugh as much as you can. We are all here for the blink of an eye.
@Drexyl is convinced he's gonna live till 105 Lmao I keep telling him I think thats highly doubtful but he's gonna prove me wrong apparently.
I dunno, Dick Van Dyke drank heavy until 46, smoked until 78, he’s 99yo now. With a little luck I should be able to hit that and a few more… he still exercises btw
What with the state of his ring the way it is?
Yep
He definitely didn’t, he was more of a peptide guy. He and I talked about bpc a few times and running moderate cycles.
Curious. Though as addicts sometimes we never truly know what damage we’ve done to our bodies even with perfect labs in some instances stuff cannot even be seen with imaging and won’t be until an autopsy. Really sad man and just goes to show you never know what moment could be your last.
Thanks for sharing that man.
Damn
RIP. Condolences to his family
Damn. Rest in peace.
Good lookin out and sharing awareness.
Sometimes I wonder how often this happens and what ever happened to Makwa.
I hope not often
Ya man, I’ve always wondered the same. So many people have just dropped off over the years. I hope everyone just got busy with life but I suspect this has happened many times. God forbid that happened to me I highly doubt my wife would come on here and message someone. So nobody would ever know. Most people’s wives are probably the same.
Yea same if I drop out of here I’m dead nobody will know
Another past good friend of mine BillG (he had the squirrel avatar) died of a heart attack about 4 years ago now - his wife did the same thing and came on here logged into his account and told me 24 hrs after he passed and she found him in the shower when she got home from work. When I got the message through it was so surreal I figured someone was joking around with me at first, but turned out she came on here to tell me specifically as he often talked to her about our chats. I felt quite guilty and awkward talking to her as obviously I knew him through running steroids ultimately. She was a nice woman to me, extremely sad all these cases mate. Makes you question yourself what we are doing at times like these.
Absolutely man. We all should fucking stop this now. It’s obviously not worth dying young over. Especially if you got kids. This is why I haven’t ventured past TRT+ since returning to the scene. I got young kids. And now I’m questioning that 100mg of NPP ew I recently added. But Damn do my shitty joints feel great now but nandrolone seems to be one of the most problematic for the heart. Ive just been telling myself that I’m running the amount the manufacturer and FDA approved so its hopefully not so bad like higher doses.
Once I have kids I’m out of the game besides Trt, some peptides, and low dose gh. Not saying ur low dose of npp is an issue at all I’m just speaking in terms of knowing that there is gonna be a time I’m gonna have to get the fuck out of this unfortunately
The GLPs may be a good antidote to this. Human life expectancy is projected to rise 6% because of GLPs. Size can be an illusion anyways..
The Incredibly sad thing is Izzy also had children too.
Fuck….thats terrible. Seems like when gear is involved nobody ever has a smaller non fatal heart attack that can serve as a wake up call. Something like 90% of people survive heart attacks but bodybuilders never seem to.
