+ 8 MOTIVATION!!!
Some things have recently occured to me and I thought I'd share...
We all speak about kitchen and gym and I've always said Champions are made in the kitchen. That's true and of course the gym has to be on track but I always figured if you can't get the gym right there's not much hope for you, the real work is pushing proper food and proper volumes.
Still, it has resently re-occured to me, proper motivation is so important. In the last few months I've found some new motivation and what's occured in my case is I took a step back and re-examined all aspects of my success, or failure as it could easily have become.
So I guess first, we each have to define what success is for ourself. That may be we see someon or know someone we aspir to be like or it may just be a mental image we have of what we want to be. Problem there is often we see ourselves as what we want to be so much, we begin thinking that's who we are and don't realize, we're not!
So here's what I've done and I hope it helps a couple of you re-examin your own world and find the reality of it and become better.
- Found someone I aspire to be like
2.evaluate my own habits as they compare to the advice I give. Guess what, my advice was better than my lifestyle...up until a week ago.
3.set a plan to be the me I wish to be and the the me I THINK I AM. - VERY IMPORTANT HERE FOR ME....Quit looking in the mirror and thinking how good I look and just how quick I can get back to where I really wish to be....to to be that which I can be and quit looking at what I could be as having any value.
- Last but not least, this is maybe the most important part of what tuned me around recently.....if you are the badest mofo in your cirlce of buds and or workout partners...YOU NEED A NEW CIRCLE MY FRIEND!!!! YOU CANNOT GORW THERE! I was fortunate enough to be associated with someone recently that made me remember what success really is and when I compared myself to this individual I realized something....I was failing.
My new roll...I'm pushing food again and not finding easy paths to do it or skipping here or there or falling short.
I stay motivated by aspiring to be those better than me and not by thinking how much better I am than those I previously looked at around me.
Walk in the gym...crawl out. For the last week I've walked in pain and I remember the feeling well and I'm glad I found it again!
Last word.....if you want success, find the successful and duplicate their path. Stop pretending to be that which you are not. We've all done it, we all know what it is and we all know how to stop it and what it takes to stop it....WORK.

tread-mHaha...my brother I've seen the light again! Was lost but now I'm found! T_Luva saw this as well and motivated him now he and I are on a summer tour of hard Iron and big eats and see where it goes in email to keep each other motivated! I will say this, you've motivated me way more than once and I love you for it and a 1000 other things and glad you made it in here as well ! Now F something up and report back brother!
I've bookmarked this..this applies life as well as the gym. Good stuff.
tread-mThat a fact brother, easy to get lost in any of our passions and need a lil sump'n to find our way back. Point is, guys like us always do!
GearofWarI've got a question for Tread or anyone else that may have advice. What if you work alone. I've got no friends that are remotely interested in fitness let alone lifting. My gym sessions are stuffed into hour lunch breaks every day and I go hard. As hard as an hour will allow. I've got 2 little girls at home and its hard to find time for friends plus most guys at my gym are about 127 years old. I live a pretty solitary life and the people I see as inspiration are typically fictional characters from TV or movies. How can I get a bit more motivated without the help of peers? Am I just destined to shut my mouth and do it all alone as usual? Just like I kicked dope. Alone. I'm not am elitist but I feel constantly let down by the real world people I look up to. I think they're great people only to be stabbed in the back or find out they're closet drug addicts that preach to me about how bad drugs are for you...
tread-mBrother I honestly think most of us who are serious about our gym the same way we are about our job or anythingt else we do and don't make excuses for end up alone. I've had 50 partners over the yrs and every single one I see off and on and they look washed up, fat, weak, out of shape, lefe beaten etc...nothing wrong with alone if you keep the drive kickin and when I am alone and need a spot I just ask someone close to me. In fact, where I mostly go I know a couple in about every time slot of the day and kinda know who I can feel good about asking etc. I can actually motivate myself pretty well but as time goes it slowly falls off without me even knowing it and something will spark me eventually to step it up. In this case I had that and then another thing is after I put up this post I had a close frien here email me and say "let's do this thang!" So he and I while not reeally competing against each other necessarily , shot each other current pics and will do that monthly as we go through the summer. So we even have that extra thing of not wanting to disappoint the other and both agreed to get on this like its the l?ast yr we get to! Little things though , hell pick a friend hear to challenge even if not in the open forum and the 2 of you or 3 or 4 of you compete to some degree to motivate each other. Tell you this, if you're using your whole lunch for it then you have accepted it as part of your life and that says a lot. Most partners I've had are good for 30 days max and even the few I thought had something would go out maybe 6 months max. Even so, have hardly ever had one I got along with really really well in that they run late or wanna leave early or have to miss this day or that one or "just not feeling it today"...same ole shit by where its always the back burner and everything else is first place. For me its as important as my job so I don'tg make excuse. Such as today, chestg full of crud with this cold and head hammered , a little fever and same yesterday. Went in and destroyed legs yesterday feeling like shot and an hour and 45 today chest and tri's and feel like a bus hit me. Never occured to me to use a cold as an excuse therefore it was not an option. Just get in the zone brother and work like you have to do it for a paycheck and just own it. You'll fall off "the zone" here and there but just don't ever let it get you to the point you walk out a month at a time etc. Own it brother!

Hey Tread. I'd taken what you'd said to heart. I know you've been in the game a long long time now. I'd say before I was even born but I'm actually an old bastard compared to all these strapping young bucks around this place. I'm hoping this will at least help me get more serious about my intensity and stay on point to keep at it. I also am feeling like I should reach out to some of the vets for specific training, diet, and supplement advice. If anyone wants to mentor a fat shit like me, I'm 100% willing to bust my ass and do as you say. Luckily(or maybe not) depending how you see it I'm a pretty classic Endomorph. I can bulk pretty easily but I need help with getting the width to look good. So, Thank you Tread! I'm stoked to have gotten involved a bit more and I look forward to making a big change to my body type. My goal is pure, usable strength, and recomp.
solid info, bro! after years of going to the gym on a regular basis and even after seeing great results it does get repetitive. its a great place and time to get away from it all and push your body to the limit. it gives such a great balance to life putting in that hard work to achieve your goals. i wouldnt change it for anything as its built a lot of character especially starting at a young age.
Anonnot this champ im gonna run Tren and Deca only cycles until my ass looks like Kai Greene or my dick turns into a permanent paperweight. Fuck all that noise, cooking takes too long!

Yeah.. motivation is a wonderfull thing, its a bit like sex!.. you gotta keep pushing and not let it slip or you end up in the S.H.1.T. ..... Ooohhhhh Naaazty!
tread-mOne lil slip and you're outta the Pank and into the Stank! Whateva's...lol
Btw...sex=motivation...true dat! : )
i really appreciate this. it just what i needed, cause i have been plateauing for too long. im going to KILL it in the gym tomorrow. and eat like its my fuckin day job!
tread-mBrother I can barely stand up much less walk. I had 2 gym sessions today , 2 earlier in the week on 1 day and the other days 1 session but also kiiiiilllllllled it. Its amazing what the body can even do in a week and I am swole outta control right now! I think most of it is swelling though! Lmao. Hurts soooo damn good though I'm back in beast mode man and "might" even do a fall comp, we'll see not going to put the cart before the horse but if I can get 30 lbs back, much of what I lost with test flu then actual flu, I might just freak up for this thang! Lil bro is in a couple this yr so he is kickin on my ass too but who knows. Get your groove bud no time like today!
This all sounds wrong!.. WTF have you been doin lately?.. playing golf or what?
Let brother vikes motivate you here and now!.... pull your FKN head outa your azz and create a goal... plan for a comp and DO IT!.. no back tracking, no excuses, just fkn do it!.... you think you know your shit.. FKN prove it!... not to me or anybody else.. BUT TO YOURSELF.. this is what you,ve always wanted so now the time is prime.... let the FKN horses out the stable and just run with this thing.... nothing lost, plenty to gain, but most importantly YOU WENT FOR IT!...FK the man who never push,s boundaries..without pioneers we would ALL just be a flock of FKN sheep...........
YOU GOT THIS THING... TIME TO BE THE WOLF BIG MAN... TIME,TO BECOME THE TREAD BEAST
Dont be falling out with me now, this is purely motivational speaking,hell!.. i have to kick my own ass every FKN day to stay looking like the man!... EASY.. is not an option in my world... PAIN and FATIGUE is the norm... NOTHING but NOTHING gets in my way where bodybuilding is concerned, either it be family or work... IT will have to fit around somehow, in my way of thinking the only thing on earth i truly own is my body.. everything else, houses, cars, money, etc, etc, is just materialism that we surround ourselves with and it can come or go in the blink of an eye.. when we get really old the thing we turn into is just one big memory chip!... i choose to have some FKN good memories.
Thats it!.. all homo love for you bro.. you know already without me having to say it... THINK.. PLAN... EXECUTE!
tread-mVery nice brother! Have my head on straight, its all in front of me bro thank you!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRhEcKHU5LY
Music helps too! Nice post brother! I missed you! No homo of course
tread-mYuuuup, huuuge help bud no question, its a recipe man and I was missing part of my recipe for a while...FOUND IT!
Lil homo?
Nice post my nookah! I'm flattered that you have set the goal of aspiring to be like me. That should give you mileage for the rest of your life.
tread-mYou caught me brother! I hope you don't mind I modified the diet you gave me a bit. I use chicken nuggets instead of the fresh chicken on your list I figured chicken is chicken and rather than sweet potato for the carbs I opted cupcakes and brownies. Same thing just tasty so I know its healthy and if I enjoy it then its working right? I have kept the flinstone gummies in for the pre-workout explosion you recommended, those lil puppies are good!
Its kinda weird that this was wrote today. The last couple days I have been doing a lot if reading and trying to find something to reignite the spark I had a year ago. Im motivated but not what I would like it to be. Been traveling a lot and not eating as good as I would be at home its not an excuse I just need to be better. Thanks good read..
tread-mTHIS ALL YOU JD, YOU GOT THIS BROTHER COME ON GITCHA SOME!
Yeahhhhh that someone is VERYYY motivational...and keeps me motivated!!
tread-mMmHmmmmmmm...MoBetta!
MUUUUUUCH MOOOO BETTA!!! ;-* ♡
Yeah buddy I especially like #3. My pops told me that at the age of 17 when I left home. 17 yrs later he still says the same thing. It is a solid piece of advice that will mold you into the person you desire and constantly align you with great people with similar goals. Yes indeed it works with body building because it works in other areas of life.
Hell no need to tell you that we all hit those dips in the road. A real stud will always be able to get back into it! Congrats!
tread-mAll good words brother and I called my dad pops too btw. Lol....he was a bit of a hero for me, one of those that just got up day to day and made shit happen you know? I think like him in that I have no quit in me but I can still find myself lost from time to time....found myself and who I am again recently so glad to back fosho!
Inspiring read. You find in so many cases, especially in modern society that individuals expect things to happen to them and in most cases, if that particular success does not come then they opt for the blame role. I think the key message here is to lead and lead by example. I always listen to the thought thats constantly in my mind, "waiters wait, creators create".
tread-mI'm going to steal your final thought, I love it! Mine has always been "If I can't find a path, I will make one". I like yours as well as mine, thank you!
another insightful post as always. ive started evaluating everyday to determine if it was a succesful one or a failed one. im about 2 weeks in doing this and it has certainly helped to keep my head screwed on tight and my eyes on my goals
tread-mVery nice to hear level! Its so easy to get stuck in that rut, doing the day to day gym blah blah blah. Now I walk in and in 10 minutes I'm sweating bullets and leave drenched and feeling like Ai just got the shit beat out of me during an initiation to a gang! Lol.....seriously, found new depth and I lovge it again rather than it just being "my routine". Keep your rockin brother!
you keep rocking it as well! nothing like dragging yourself out the gym bc it was that good. complacency is something i will always be aware of now and do anything to avoid
