+ 1 Lymph Nodes and AAS use

ad

Quick question. I noticed on the back left side of my neck a rash like of red bumps feels almost like ingrown hairs. They have been around for a couple of days and are sore. Today I noticed my lymph nodes on my left side under my jaw and the back of my neck are now swollen and tender to the touch. I scheduled an appointment with my Dr. to get this checked out, but my question is should I let him know about past AAS use? It's been close to 6 months since my last cycle I don't feel it has anything to do with this. I think whatever is on the back of my neck may be an infection causing my lymph nodes to swell.Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well Bros,
It's fucking shingles! Just got a shot in the ass that hurst worse than any roid I've taken

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Got my blood work back recently and found out I was Vitamin D deficient. Normal range is 30-100 mine was 19. Studies have shown that people with low Vitamin D have weaker immune systems, hence the shingles. I'm on 5,000 iu's ED for two months then 2,000 for a month then going back in to see where my levels are.

Damn, I hope you heal soon those are no joke! Did your doctor prescribe vitamin D or D3? D3 is both a vitamin and considered a hormone it has been working so well the the FDA of course is considering making it a prescription. I take 1000ius a day of D3 and it has greatly helped with my skin as well as energy levels.

Yea my shingles only lasted about 2 weeks so I was lucky, stay contained to a small area also. D3 is what I am taking. I was reading about Vitamin D deficiency, and it says it can cause depression and extreme anxiety. I have been noticing lately that I felt like my heart was gonna jump out of my chest and I would have to take a couple deep breaths to control it. I have been on absolutely nothing AAS wise or anything else for that matter so I figure with my levels that low it had to have been what was causing it.

Darktide's picture

Yes you nailed it. Also did he tell you about taking calcium with it that also works to calm anxiety and they enhance each other.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

No, but I'm drinking Vitamin D milk by the gallon now with V's shake recipe.

Darktide's picture

I would say that should qualify nicely lol.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Glad you mentioned that about the FDA. I'm gonna stock up on that while I still can.

Darktide's picture

Yeah I stay up on their possible hit lists for that reason.

Oh know that sucks bad!! Pretty rare in younger people.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

No shit don't know if it's stress or I tweaked my neck or what. Dr thinks I caught it before it started blistering, hopefully getting on these meds will take care of it quickly. Sucks cause I got three little ones at home. Two of which have had shots.

oldhead73's picture

Man I hope it clears up fast for you!

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Yea me too! Appreciate it

The diagnosis is Folliculitis from shaving probably. You should get some antibiotics from your doctor. It's not from gear. Easy to fix. The nodes are doing their job fighting infection..

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I agree. I'm going to the Dr today. I'm not gonna lie hurts like a bitch. I've had ingrown hairs but nothing like this, damn.

Gymjunkie01's picture

im no doc but if its been 6 months highly doubt if it was the roids doing this.. usually when your lymph nodes swell its due to a reaction with in the body such as an infection or reaction to environmental pollution or an allergic reaction to something. your lymph nodes are like a big filter and trap. they play a huge part with the immune system, they trap foreign particles and when they become inflamed that's a sign of something going on inside of you and needs to be checked out by a doctor

Owes a Review × 1
PIN_CUSHION's picture

Yea, that's what most have been saying, getting it checked out tomorrow. Hopefully it ain't no thang.

I really doubt there's any correlation between your use 6 months ago and some lymph swelling now.
I've had some extensive testing done, and I have reactive lymph nodes. The wind can blow, and mine will swell. Any allergen , even mild infection , or bacteria can make it happen.
That doesn't mean you don't need to get to the doctor. You probably do. Especially if they've been swollen any amount of time. They tested me so heavily due to concerns of lymphoma. I'll gladly take reactive lymph nodes over that.

No, don't bring up aas to your doc. You should get checked out though. Go ahead and include that physical while you're there

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Thanks for the info. Yea today is the first day I noticed the nodes swelling, never have in the past which is why I freaked, but I think this rash has something to do with it. Yea I'm gonna gonna run a full diagnostic. See where my body is at right now before I get on another cycle. Physically I feel great, back in the gym and diet is coming around.

shawn0712's picture

Good deal. You're approaching 30. They might ask you to bend over and cough. Gotta take it like a man bro. It's our rite of passage. Lol. Just don't make eye contact and think happy thoughts.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

lol,no dout, but if I notice both hands on my shoulders we got a MAJOR fucking problem. lmao

LMAO!

Lymph nodes swell for almost any reason sometimes. I have gotten a few swollen while only on RX test dose, infection played no role in it. Sometimes heavy core, squats, dead lift or leg press causes them to flare up.

If you can hear noise clearly, theirs heavy pain I would just wing it for 10days before swinging by my doctor.

What ever you do. DO NOT TELL THE DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR AAS USE IF ITS NOT RELEVANT. In your case I would not mention it. Plus your insurance will drawn you a nice bill if they ever find out you used.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Ok, thank a lot, I figured that was the case. Just seem like to much of a coincidence. I think the rash and the nodes are related. I noticed it because how sore my neck was. However I do need to get to the Dr for a checkup it's been about 10 yrs since I've stepped foot in one.

Dr for a checkup it's been about 10 yrs since I've stepped foot in one.

Oh shit!............. no roids for you bro until you get a full system check.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Once again, can't stress enough the knowledge I've gain in the short time I've been here, I mean where the fuck else can you go to talk about shit like this. I'll tell you where.... NOWHERE!

PIN_CUSHION's picture

10-4 boss that's the plan.

Lilbear's picture

Wait WHAT! 10 years. You didn't get labs before running your last cycle?

On a side note do not scratch or rub them it causes them to get bigger.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

No man, one of the many things I've learned here. Next time I will get them before for a baseline, during, and after. I love this place cause it's so much more than a place to find gear. I wish I knew about this place before I ever started, but live and learn.

Yea I've been trying not too, it's hard I'm wigging out.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Then my wife who use to be an x-ray tech throws out the Big "C" word and scared the shit out of me.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Get the DOC on the job thats the best thing ........ could be that you are allergic to a carrier in the brand of oil you are running ??? (dont name the brand here please bro)

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Yea I know better than that. So even though I've been off for a while the carrier could still be in my system?
