+ 2 Insomnia

ad

I have battled insomnia my entire life. I remember being a little kid and not going to sleep at all the entire night and then going to school. Still to this day at 29 yrs old I battle severe insomnia.
Benzos do nothing for me. Tried ambien up to a ridiculous amount of 50mgs and still nothing.
I would like to hear thoughts, input, experiences, any all feed back is welcomed.
I believe that insomnia is a disease and it runs deep in my family.
I know that it hurts my training and my results because my body doesn't heal and recover properly.

lol, I'm glad husband is not alone. I slapped him so hard a few weeks ago it woke us both up. It's never because I'm mad at him, he just happens to be the one who's there.

Lmao

legendinthemaikng's picture

I have already tried trazadone. I know some other people it works great on.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

Shitty. I went through 8 or so before finding what works, hopefully your doctors can get you lined out.

legendinthemaikng's picture

I hope so cause this is killing me. I have been dealing with it my entire life but I feel it's getting worse.

I usually just fuck my wife.

White Bolt's picture

Lol or yeah that too

UgtaBkdNme's picture

Don't fuck his wife, that could cause problems...

Valerian root - natural / herbal may assist.

Prescription - amitriptyline. Not necessarily advising the use of this, (messy drug), but you WILL sleep when using it!

legendinthemaikng's picture

Tried valerian root as well as magnesium powder with zero results. Amitriptyline I have heard of it. What is it commonly prescribed for?

irongame427's picture

I was prescribed amitriptyline years ago for migraines along with one other med. It was a long time ago now so i really cant remember if it made me tired or not.

Catalyst's picture

Was originally designed as a mild anti depressant, a problem it is fairly ineffective at helping according to most medics and rarely prescribed for these days (at least in the uk anyway). Does however help tremendously with sleep but can become mildly habit forming.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

Is that similar to nortriptyline? That stuff make me crazier than usual lol I couldn't take it.

Dickkhead's picture

Ya. I couldn't sleep either for years. I have a whole sleep cocktail that includes ambien, lorazepam, trazodone, and - tada - quetiapine. I sleep like a baby and wake up refreshed. Trensomnia? Tren is no match for the combo of the other meds. It runs in my family as well and it's been over 10 years since the days I couldn't sleep. But, I remember, nearly ruined my life. Well, that's a boatload of meds, Gear. Yeah, well, insomnia is the kiss of death when it's chronic. I'm delighted also to say that in 10 years I have not needed to increase the dose on any of those meds. They still work just as well today as back then.

legendinthemaikng's picture

How the hell did you get a Dr. To sign off on all those scripts?

Dickkhead's picture

I went to a psychopharmacologist for treatment. Those guys are not shy about writing scripts for sure. Bro, all I know that if you're as bad off as I was, all the sleep hygiene suggestions, herbal teas, other homeopathic remedies ain't gonna do shit. Powerful Rx meds is what it's gonna take. And, the real beauty of it all, is when I wake up I don't feel "medicated" or clumsy or drowsy or hungover. I feel great.

legendinthemaikng's picture

Yeah I know trazaadone Xanax ambien none of those have ever done anything for on there own. I will have to see if a Dr will donit for me.

Dickkhead's picture

Make sure u get the quetiapine. Using it for insomnia is an off label use, for sure, that's why I needed the specialist.

legendinthemaikng's picture

I have used seraquill before it is an anti psychotic it works but it makes me a zombie.

Dickkhead's picture

I once took it by mistake during the day - ouch - didn't like the effect at all. But after 8-9 hours of sleep, I guess (for me anyways) it wears off. Sorry you can't use that bro, I'm sure there are other things.

MONK's picture

Quitiapine is an anti psychotic right? Fuck me it turns men to zombies over night lol. A family member is prescribed it for Bi-polar, used it in the past and for me the sides just ain't worth the zzzz's.

Dickkhead's picture

What sides? I never got any in all the years. Yes, it is an atypical anti-psychotic but no one has ever used it to treat psychosis. I have heard that it is used to treat bipolar depression mostly. But, I'm neither a psycho (all though some may disagree) nor bipolar and it was prescribed to me as a great sleep aid by a really well respected doc. Let me look up them sides real quick - dang looks worse than Tren. Only side effect I ever got was quality zzzzzz's.

MONK's picture

Just shows how everyone reacts differently. It's great it works for you. Even at lower doses I'm rendered completely useless the next day or two and certainly couldn't contemplate lifting a single weight. Completely numbs me. I think I slept for over 24 hours on it once lol :/

Are you running tren at the moment.

legendinthemaikng's picture

No sir no tren. The insomnia is natural to me for as long as I can remember. I have read that HGH will combat trensomnia symptoms.

humpnpump's picture

Sometimes restless leg syndrome (RLS) will be the cause of insomnia. RLS will have different symptoms for each individual. Legs will feel energized and you have to move them, pins and needles, creepy crawling, and hot like they are on fire are all symptoms of RLS. The need to keep moving your legs causes the insomnia. It's treated with requip or mirapex aka prami.

RLS is not a problem for me. I have that it can be rather brutal though.
