+ 5 Fenafybrate and egfr

ad

As a few of you guys who I pm with know I was diagnosed with kidney disease a few months ago.
My egfr was 42 with a blood creatinine of 1.8.
My Pharmacist was kind enough to point out that they were prescribing me Fenafybrate for my low hdl. My ldl is perfect.
I came home and googled it. She was right.
There’s multiple articles online saying this.
I quit taking Fenafybrate 30 days ago.
Got my blood results online today.
GFR is 60 Blood creatinine is 1.4
All in a normal range.
If you’ve been diagnosed be sure to check your your medication.
These Drs are quick to diagnose shit without looking at the full picture.
Either the Pharmacist knows more than the Dr or the Dr wants office visits...
It’s also normal for bodybuilders to have a lower egfr than an avg guy due to our imuscle mass.
I’ll be starting a blast this week : )

Dude sorry to hear about your health issues , its never easy especially when you have a family to care about.

Pharmacist are just as knowledgeable as Doctors in almost every way, Except for one Chemistry and the internal effects of medication on your body , in that department a Pharmacist makes an M.D. seem completely inadequate .

It is way too common that physicians make mistakes or dont take more than a minute or two and make an impulsive assumption. It even goes way beyond your experience. The general population would be terrified if they knew how frequently medical errors are made and then charting may even get changed to avoid the responsibility and liability, especially in critical care. No doctor or surgeon is perfect and even some of the best in the world have done this.

I'm glad you're okay, dude. Dont forget, you are your biggest advocate. If you dont look out for yourself to the best of you ability, no one will.

Be safe.

Yup; Docs are too quick to misdiagnose things. Glad to followed up yourself and ruled it out! There are also kidney flush supplements out there!

Damn bro, I’m sorry to hear you had that scare. It’s pretty frustrating that you put your trust in these guys to know their shit and it seems like half of them don’t. Glad you’re in the clear and back at it!

Probably a good thing. I cut my protein back and don’t appear to have lost anything.
I read a few articles saying guys that have been lifting a long time don’t require as much.
Probably an age thing. Ill up it on cycle.
I had suspicions the guy knew because he told me not to lower my sodium.
He had my medication list. I find it hard to believe a specialist wouldn’t know that.

John meadows said the same thing, his protein needs have almost been cut in half since when he first started. He suspects our bodies become more efficient over time, coupled with having a good amount of mature muscle, he really won’t be growing much this late in his career.
