+ 8 Eroiders, get in where you fit in.

ad

There has been a lot of discussion on what can be done to fix some of the issues we have on this site. Things like how to and when to give advice and who should or shouldn't receive it. What should or shouldn't be advised as a cycle choice. What is ok and not as far as compounds. What can be done to repair the karma system and how do we show our true level of experience etc. Some of these issues are being worked out now. The karma system will get a makeover soon. I have an idea on a first step in the right direction. That score under your name is nothing more than a popularity contest IMO. Most of the active members DONT carry the tag that fits them as far as real world experience and knowledge. Myself included. My tag should say Jedi master. ;-)
Anyway, I'm asking everyone who sees this post to leave a comment putting the appropriate number next to their name.
Just an unofficial poll. Im not keeping score and nobody is going to have to prove their claim. We want to get a basic idea of which group you identify yourself with. It would be nice to have some kind of demographic.

1)•Competitive bodybuilder (I eat, sleep and breathe bodybuilding)

2)• Non-competitive Bodybuilder (just enjoy lifting and watching progress)

3)•Endurance athlete (fighters included). Amateur of pro. Isn't relevant.

4)•Testosterone replacement therapy patient

5)•Power lifter/ strong man

6)•Average Joe getting in and staying in shape for overall health

7)•None of the above.....(please elaborate)

Again, this is nothing official. Just a little something to give a better idea of how everyone identifies themselves. Grazie

Of 181 participants, these are the results thus far. I think it paints a pretty accurate picture of the demographic.

1)•Competitive bodybuilder (I eat, sleep and breathe bodybuilding). 18

2)• Non-competitive Bodybuilder (just enjoy lifting and watching progress). 73

3)•Endurance athlete (fighters included). Amateur of pro. Isn't relevant. 12

4)•Testosterone replacement therapy patient. 22

5)•Power lifter/ strong man. 13

6)•Average Joe getting in and staying in shape for overall health.39

7)•None of the above.....(please elaborate). 4

I think this is right.

Up above in the description nitti poses the question on what can be done to repair the karma system and how to show true level of experience. It might be a poll but at least you read it. If it's valid maybe bring it up in any mod discussions you have on the topic. Thanks Greg

1, 2, 6 and 10... Had to make my own label... You forget bad ass bitch that meal preps, supports, motivates, competes, lifts, knows cycles and has an ass most would die for..
Fearless's picture

What a coincidence. I have an ass most would die for too. Count me in that category as well ;)

It would be an interesting demographic as you stated. Look forward to reading the results. I consider myself a 6.

I'm a 6 and a 2. I enjoy lifting and steadily pushing myself to the next level. But IMO I'm an average joe I wanna stay in shape and feel and look good. Even if I don't progressively get bigger as long as a stay fit and strong I'm happy.

Oldermuscle41's picture

I'm a 2.. I do compete, however it's against myself!!

Dextermorganlv's picture

I'm a 2 with a side of 4. Very dedicated gym ray and live the BB lifestyle but have no desire to compete. I'm on trt off cycle and trt was my "gateway" to cycling.

awagz's picture

I'd say a 2 and 6 mix. I train hard and strive to continue to improve but my life and career will keep me from ever getting too hard into the bodybuilding lifestyle. Family first

I would say 2 and 6. Got a late start in the game and didnt have an interest in lifting until my mid-thirtys. Now its all about getting in as best shape possible and putting on more size while im physically able.

Retired #3 now a #2 and heading downhill into a #4 and a #7 with a clinical medical background.

2 and 4. Getting older just sucks. Finding that balance between ego and health takes experience.

shawn0712's picture

somewhere between 2,5,and 6 I'm not exactly a bodybuilder and not completely a powerlifter. somewhere in the middle I find my goals and I'm happy pushing for them.

2 and 7. I say 7 also bc I wanted to add something even knowing I haven't been here long I've been using and researching aas for 8 years and learning is kind of a hobby to me as I take this serious as everyone should that introduces hormones into their bodies for a desired result and to do so safely. I guess my point is, is that by no means does my tag correlate with my real world experience. It be great if you guys can come up with a test of sorts to figure this out even though I know that may be asking a lot but just my thoughts.

Theophany's picture

I am quite uncertain whether my physique qualifies as to that of a bodybuilder, but I definitely possess the heart of one! #2

You could have a double tag system. They use it a lot in video games (I'm a bit of a nerd).

Such as [Royal Knight]

Royal, in this case, would represent a title of experience, and Knight, would represent your assigned classification of training.

So for instance;

Royal = 20-25 years AAS Exp
Knight = Endurance Athlete.

Just create tags like...
0-3 [Newb]
3-5 [Gym Rat]
5-10 [etc...]
etc.. [etc...]

Obviously I don't want you to use those tags but It's the easiest way to paint it from me to you. Lol
You could use gym lingo and bro talk for a lot of the tags or anything to do with AAS to make it trendy.

Geezer? Senile?

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Lol, just messin with ya. I know what your getting at. There are so many variables to everything though. You could have been running some stupid ass cycle those 20 years also. I think a good way would be a timed quiz. So many seconds per question so you couldn't google it. It would give a good indicator of ones knowledge.

I would say 2, but I think there should also be a category for clinical experts or those with experience in the medical field (either research or primary care types) such as nurses, MD, physical therapists, and exercise physiologists. I have an MS in exercise physiology, I'll be going to med school next fall, and I've definitely seen others with a clinical background posting on the boards.
