Alcohol taste after pin

ad

After getting frustrated with sever sources I decided to look local. We have a high lvl IFBB here and he turned me onto a source. So far my first three pin's, all have left an alcohol taste in my mouth. Anyone ever experience this before, and if so is there cause for alarm? Thanks in advance!

No sir, I have only used two pin point since I started this run a week ago this Wednesday. I'm saying that in my four years I've never had this consistently happen. Though I'd reach out to some vets and see what their thoughts were. My ultimate concern is the oil. I realize I may be making a mistake with my pin, but has anyone ever had oil do this. And if so, why would that be?

Do you aspirate? You should

Be sure to draw back slowly and steady otherwise you'll collapse the vein and you won't see any blood in the barrel but you'll still be shooting all that oil into that vein.

Yes I always aspirate. Good advice on going slower though. I'll make sure to pay extra attention next time and let you know how that went, thanks for the advice. Let's say it wasn't the PIN, anything else I should be concerned with?

Goose24's picture

Yep. Makes a world of difference once you profect the technique and do it properly.

Blue magnify glass would return hundreds of results.

Couldnt give a fuck if it was the queens sisters brother who recommended means shit.

Learn how to pin properly.

.XMMA.'s picture

Not sure what the blue magnify glass means, but my PIN protocol is accurate and precise. In four years with AAS I've never had this happen. Other than a potential improper PIN do you have any other constructive reasons?

As others already mentioned it's from hitting a vein or synthetic oils can also often cause this problem.
Hope you have aspirated right. Have u also had to cough after inject?

.XMMA.'s picture

I do clean the area rather obsessively. I also aspirate every time. This last pin I did caugh a bit afterward.

.XMMA.'s picture

I generally go back over the cleaned area with a clean pad to get any fibers or excessive alcohol off. I'll make sure to pay closer attention. So, I was confident in the obvious reasons, but is there any reason the oils should be doing this?

Where are you pinning, it sounds like you are nicking a vein.

.XMMA.'s picture

I've rotated glutes the last three times.

If you're not passing through a vein, or nicking one, if you are using a small needle (e.g.25g) you can rupture small vessels by injecting too fast... think of how placing your thumb over the end of a hose increases the water pressure and narrows the spray.

Really good point! I had never though of it like that, thanks for the advice!

Are you getting any on your skin? Before or after injection?

No, I'm traditionally rather OCD about my approach to pinning.
