+ 7 What's ur favorite underrated move that you don't see anyone else doing?
ad
What move do you do that pumps ur nads that you dont see really anyone else doing?
For me it's dumbell pullovers. I hardly EVER see anyone doing them, and I lift at random gyms all over the Midwest when I'm traveling.
I go heavy and high reps. My lats love them, and so do the long heads of my triceps. I do them flat, decline, across the bench etc.. I do them on chest day, back day, and usually when I train core. I fucking love them.
So what's yours? I know my main-man @Petecastiglione rattled off quite a few arm moves that I've never heard of recently, and he's a monster so I know there's more to be unearthed.
Hopefully this thread turns in to a complete shit show and devolves into death threats, and complete mayhem.

Yeah bro, that’s one of those lifts… the stronger you get, the easier it is to butcher the form…
I keep mine around 4 plates max and try to progress slow … like +2.5 lbs over the weeks(eventually I’ll hit +25lb*2 in 3-4 months, not in the rushing at all) staying in that 5–9 range with control. If the execution goes, the lift goes with it.
It’s one of the best back builders, no doubt… but it’ll humble you quick.
As for those dudes throwing around 5–6 plates…
could be a little “extra mgs of dbol/halo/tne ” in the mix lol or just guys built to pull. Some people are just freaky strong on rows.
Genetics + leverage play a big role there for sure.
Ed Coan always seems to talk about doing heavy bb rows.
If you were to pick one back exercise from all of them to build thickness and size, together with lower back strength - then they are the one for sure. Love pull ups too but you just don't get that thickness from the BB rows.
100%
Yessir. I'm a huge fan of big, compound back moves. Barbell row is one of my favorite moves, chest supported dumbbell rows, pullovers (duh), weighted pullups etc. I agree one hundred percent about keeping it simple- AND BIG.
Gotta tax urself to grow. But you already know that, you're fucking massive.
That’s it, Big… simple and heavy works.
We’re all trying to improve… get bigger, get better, keep refining execution. Weight matters, but if you can control it and actually contract, that’s where it hits different.
Those exercises you listed are all solid. I like chest-supported T-bar rows too … keeps the lower back out and lets you really load and squeeze the back.
We’re on the same page… just trying to grow.
Trying to catch up to you, big bro
Butt naked squats.
I'll spot you
Cable Tricep kickbacks. Nothing hits my long head harder. Plus I can push past failure an very easily give myself an extra 3-5 reps. I never see anyone doing them
Calf raises
Leave now.
Dumbell bicep curls, start on highest incline 8 reps, move bench down 1 notch, another 8, then down again and another 8. Hits every time. I chose 8 reps as its a killer!
For shoulders, set bench up like its a steady incline then it's basically like a lateral raise into a front raise almost as if you're drawing a semi circle motion, as a finisher that hurts a lot
Someone else said also, Dumbell curl into shoulder press.
Never see people combining movements for a compound excersise. Like a pronated pulldown into a tricep press or a hammer curl into an overhead press. Seems like everyone at the gym is just using isolation movements. Isolation is great dont get me wrong you can take your weight higher doing a single arm concentration curl and break through a wall, just seems like most of them aren't going to get that out of their workout.
I just think the transition from one movement to another provides me a better way to build and gets my heart going better as well.
Thoughts?
I'll find you by IP!
I'll find you first and fuckin kill you.
@steroidmen coming thru with the first death threat +1
When I find you, I'll make you swallow all the pills and then wash them down with oil.
I like bringing a bench up to the cable rack and setting the bench up against it, and setting it up at a 60 degree angle. Grab an easy curl bar and then pump out cable pullovers like that. You have a lot of stability in the movement, and tension throughout the entire range of motion. Shit feels so good, and by the end you lats are screaming. It’s a good finishing move for polishing your pump, and getting maximum amount of blood in your lats.

This is going to be tried by me asap. Also I like moving shit all over the gym and leaving it it random places, so this achieves multiple goals for me.
Every week I do this it never fails, people will look at you with curiosity on why your pulling a bench up to the cable rack like it's some forbidden thing or some kind of secret art. I've done it enough now that i finally see people replicating it.
I do the same with the 90 degree bench.. pull that shit up to cable rack and do flys. Isolates the chest muscles
That shit hits so good as well
Really looking forward to this post I hope I get a couple of new things to try
unseen423Dude, same! Been taking notes. Think I could create a whole new split off these suggestions!
Incline Tate Press (forever the best tricep builder of all time for me), Cable Archer Pull (rear delts), Assisted Pull Up Press Downs (lower chest), Integrated Partials Pec Deck Fly, Underhand Dumbbell Crossbody Raise (middle upper chest and front delt)
This superset for chest (all back to back, use same weight for each but relatively light): Dumbbell Incline Flys (10-12 rep range) > Incline Hex Press > Incline Press > Svend Press (10lb plates)
Your favorite Calf machine but doing a set with 3 different foot positions:
Toes Straight
Toes Inwards
Toes Outwards
Thanks my man I really try and tbh I’m obsessed with training and always open to trying new movements
I have been rocking those Tate presses since I screenshotted ur arm day a month or so ago. Love em.
So glad to hear. All your pressing movements will increase too, watch!
I will say there has been a pretty immediate amount of added pump and definition on the tris. It's gotta be something about the angle+the way the elbows are flared at the bottom. The stretch is top notch.
Forever grateful. Slut.
Farm Carry: crushes the forearms, traps, and core. It helps with posture and people with prior shoulder injuries.
Sled pushes: melts my legs. I do this to end leg day. The other day I left the gym and puked, it was a glorious day.
These are staples in my iron chapel.
Ah yes. Farmer carries. That's honestly one of the only ways I've ever been able to get my traps to grow
I live behind the back smith press. When I was in prison we always had huge water bags that we tied to the ends of 3 mop sticks we had taped together to hold the weight.
