Lets just say American cops don't seem to be impartial when dealing with complaints - If you have kids and they are continaully abusing a single elderly woman on a daily basis and being noisy right outside her home, if the cops have kids themselves then they will back up the parents and not the woman. Woman was perfectly within her rights to defend herself with lethal force because of fear for her life after years of what went on and guess what? The entire court system defends the parents and not the woman. Cops clearly don't see things from another persons point of view. The parents clearly saw the whole thing as a joke and failed to control their kids, didn't even try to and in the end the woman had enough of it all.
