No Sleep Till....
ad
I want to start by saying, I have exhaustively researched and implemented ways of getting better sleep, both before and since taking AAS. This is not a question magnesium glyconate can fix. I need more direct and effective measures to fix my issues. I have tried just about everything I can think to try and so far the only thing that has given me any relief has also made me too groggy in the morning to workout (prescribed hydroxizine). I have tried pinning daily to keep levels stable. Im just not sure what else I can do. Supplements are ok but either dont work or a tolerance builds up quickly. I am asking for any and all either unique or effective ways to improve sleep. Thank you for your time.

Look into Seltorexant.
IDK have you looked into narcolepsy treatment or had a full thyroid panel done?
100mg melatonin before bed and I sleep like a baby, even on hefty dose of tren. I wake up to piss a few times a night, and the night terrors are still present, but sleep like a baby nonetheless
Holy shit bro. If tren did that to me then I’d stick with Test and Masteron.
They are rare enough that it doesn't bother me and I get no other negative sides except for some bacne
Bruh....100mg?!? Im not trying to sleep until the dawn of the new age! I would love to see the study that suggests those levels of melatonin to be beneficial. Also, night terrors...that sucks bro.
Do you not get groggy in the morning? I can’t go over 6mg melatonin lol
Any groginess is superseded by the refreshing 8+ hrs of sleep and excitement to pin my gh. Allegedly there are supplemental benefits to taking large doses of melatonin beyond sleep. Brain shit or something idk
Coming back to this, I just recently found out that taking melatonin while taking tren can reduce/mitigate amyloid plaque buildup in the brain. Dont think theres evidence of reversing build up, but it can reduce it as it happens.
"Melatonin reduces β-amyloid accumulation and improves short-term memory in streptozotocin-induced sporadic Alzheimer’s disease model"
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10011440/
I think your head is in the right place (harm reduction being super important) but I wouldnt be comfortable making the inference that melatonin while on tren would reduce amyloid based on that paper. I did, however, find a seperate study done with zebrafish where melatonin directly improved insomnia-like behavior and provided some motor-neuron changes. I hate that these things cant be studied further than they are due to the legality issues. While not directly stated, you could be absolutely right and we just may never really know.

When you wake in the middle of the night is your heart ever racing or just feeling like it’s pumping fast? I had this issue and recently got on propanolol which is a beta blocker that hits both 1 and 2 cells. It lowers blood pressure but the reason I tried it out is because it also stops the bodies constant adrenal production. No more heart racing and I sleep through the night successfully more often. Paired with or sleep supps and I sleep so much better. Not perfect but better
I find this sensation is often down to Blood Pressure being too high from the steroids, and also yes increased Adrenalin in the body particularly from steroids like DBol. Try Bisoprolol instead of Propranolol as that blocks Adrenaline receptors on the heart which decreases the panic and stress sensation of the drug, it doesn't decrease muscle strength and cause lethargy like the Prop can do too - and any BP med such as Ramipril. I use both of those when using DBol and I found that horrible feeling during the night when you wake up never happened again. Before I used those I was always getting it - the hot weather increased the frequency even more during the summer.
Back in my fatass days that was definitely the case and my blood pressure is something I monitor religiously to this day but my issues seem to stem from CNS upregulation. Sleep apnea was a nightmare and I had no idea until I had a CPAP how bad it really was. Once I lost the weight, the cpap became ineffective though and a new set of problems came in. I agree with everything you said though.
What are you running? What is your caffeine intake? What other prescription meds are you taking? Do you have life events that are serious enough to interfere with your sleep? Do you wake up and go to sleep at regular times?
Mtn Ops makes a sleep/recovery shake that knocks me out effectively. I’ll see if they still make it but I heard they changed their formula. I still have some of their original bags and I’ll check their active ingredients when I can.
No caffeine after noon-1ish.but usually only 3-400mgs total. I have been titrating off of all stimulants and so far its going well. No real crazy life events to speak of. I do wake and sleep at as regular intervals as my job allows. I dont spend time on my phone an hour before bed.
Ive tried everything as well...
1) Over the counters
2) prescribed meds
3) peptides- DSIP
4) Injectable "PM blends"
5) Cpap
Nothing works. Sometimes Ill get 6 hours sometimes 3. Sometimes I can fall right asleep and sometimes it take 2 hours. Sometimes I can sleep 3-4 straight through, sometimes I wake up every hour.
No fucking rhyme to the reason at all
Try staying off the phone and setting it so it on silent when lying face down. Sometimes worrying about not sleeping makes life worse. Most people don't even realize they are dreaming as their dreams mimic their reality. I have noticed that hotels are now offering sleep vacations as this has been become an epidemic. Sometimes we just need to get away. Good Luck Bro
NO SLEEP TILL BROOKLYN!!
I was waiting for someone to complete the Beastie Boys reference.
Since you’re a fan of them I figured I should let you know that they released a 5-part anthology of ALL their songs and videos.
Part A, B, C, and D are completely free but you have to fight for your right to Part E.
Haha NICE! I thought it this post was going to go into the RUN DMC or Brooklyn direction but i was way off.
It was to reel in you guys who have been using gear for a long time. Lul you into a false sense of security and then BAM, good advice. Lol it turns out yall just wanted to complete the song and bounce
What AAS cycle are you running when having these problems?
Am in the same boat maybe 3hrs a night and thats a broken sleep.
Got Zopiclone from the docs and with these its only 3.5hrs sleep.
Have you tried phenibut? Somatomax from Hi-Tech is legit. Like all things though, you may build a tolerance. Give it a shot, but try no to use it every day
I have heard of phenibut but had trouble finding it and gave up
It harder to find these days, thanks FDA. But Hi-Tech is always pushing grey area supps and regularly fights the feds on this shit. Look into Somatomax, fairly inexpensive, worth a shot
Brooklyn!!
I do 2 grams of magnesium glycinate, 3 grams of Glycine, 400mg L-Theanine, 25mg Unisom, 3mg Melatonin and it’s helped me with sleep, and even while running Tren.
Forgot to mention GH helps also.
Bro...what a wild night. Other than gh, you are running a crazy stack but combined with SOME of the stuff I was already doing...i slept great. Still woke up an hour before the alarm and had some other issues but as far as reducing overall cns stimulation and getting quality sleep...you nailed it. I just hope I dont build up too much of a tolerance. If anything it seems like I have enough to cycle through them and avoid tolerance issues. Thank you bro
Shit dude the 25mg of unisom alone would knock most people out. You can buy generic bulk diphenhydramine from Amazon. 600 25mg tabs for $10
Are there any odd side effects with this? Hydroxizine makes it hard to train in the morning from being so groggy and the magnesium glyconate worked great until I built a tolerance a week later
Bro I wake up in the morning feeling fine, hop right up out of bed pin my shots take my supplements, and get my coffee in me and I'm out the door.
It’s just Benadryl. ~6hr half life. I think they quote a range of 4-9hr. I would take it about 90 min before I wanted to sleep. By the time I hit the pillow I was OUT. Was sleeping ~9-10pm til 5am. That’s all my schedule allows unfortunately. But I wouldn’t wake any. No grogginess at 5am I’d get up and go do cardio and lift no problem.
If waking up to have to pee is a problem for you, a beta-3 adrenergic agonist will help significantly. Like mirabegron. Typically if anything wakes me up while I’m sleeping, regardless how long I’ve been asleep, I’m wide awake from then on
Idk I feel like I need it to sleep on Tren lol. I also didn’t even realize that was a high dose, I thought it was a standard dose for that.
No it is standard. It just really knocks me out. I’ve done 50mg/night when I was deep in my cut and couldn’t sleep for shit. There’s two kinds of unisom. One is just Benadryl. I’m assuming that’s also the one you’re taking? Significantly different half lives between the two types of unisom.
But yea 50mg of the Benadryl one can make you sleep on any combination or concoction of AAS lol.
No I am taking the other Unisom that is Doxylamine Succinate, I have actual Benadryl as well, I was taking it for years and it eventually stopped working so I needed a alternative and I have to say Doxylamine Succinate is better imo.
Damn and it doesn’t cause grogginess with the 12 hour half-life?? I felt drugged in the morning when I tried the doxylamine succinate version of unisom. Granted I didn’t try it on tren. Maybe they counter balance each other lol. I’ve also tried 50mg melatonin. Works but gives me nightmares. Wife told me I was moaning in my sleep. I took that as she was saying I sounded like a bitch….so I stopped that
So according to what ive found. Unisom (diphenhydramine) will definitely knock you out. But because it doesnt attack the reason youre loosing sleep in the first place (melatonin suppression and cns upregulation due to anabolic use) youll sleep but the benefit is nominal at best. The quality of the sleep is still pretty poor.
I've noticed anything I take anymore for sleep doesn't work by the third night. I rotate between benadryl, melatonin, and prescription Lunista. Struggled with sleep for 15 years now. It's a battle for sure.
Id be interested to know what you've tried. I refuse to stop until I find a reliable answer and tolerance issues have definitely presented themselves early on. 15 years is a long time, is that before the use of anabolics?? What are your symptoms specifically?
Just the 3 I mentioned up there. My body is used to all of them for using over the years so I have to take i high dose of anything to fall asleep. I only use Test now that getting older. I'd say possible problems started to occur yes when I first started anabolics. Having said that even on trt I still struggle to go to sleep and stay asleep. I have no symptoms as far as racing heart or anything just some type of insomnia. Hope u get it figured out cause yeah it can definitely screw with your life if your not sleeping good.
Did you have sleep issues on tren? If so how bad/what kind of issues were you having?? Do you cycle these things to avoid tolerance?
I did have sleep issues on Tren day 1. I was using these sleep aids even before Tren, cause I was having sleep issues on just Test and Mast alone. Once I added these compounds it fixed a lot of issues for me. My sleep on Tren was spotty though even with all these sleep aids, but pinning Ace daily instead of EOD has helped a lot.
Did you ever deal with night sweats? Mast has given me issues at higher doses but I just eliminated it all together and accept that its basically just cosmetic so it has better use cases at lower doses
If youve tried everything... idk what advice I could give. I have terrible sleep but I also dont put much focus on it.
Best thing I can think of that I use when I cant sleep... I cant get to bed if I havent exersized in some way. Busting a nut helps if i cant sleep and breathing techniques.... a series of deeeeep breaths before you close your eyes. Environment control. A weight blanket is nice if you havent tried one.
I tried to just do my best to ignore it and get the best sleep I could but it started permeating my daily life and recovery from training so I just didnt know if anyone had a better solution I hadn't thought of
Have you gotten a sleep study done? If not you should start there, maybe it’s sleep apnea and you need a CPAP?
Absolutely, many times. I used to have sleep apnea when I was heavy but now I just have problems staying asleep rather than getting to sleep
In all your exhaustive research have you had a sleep study done on yourself?
Ultimately, that’s the one way you can truly know what you need help with.
Otherwise, join the Army. I’m only half kidding, but that’s where I learned how to fall asleep instantly. On patrol outside the wire you never know when you’re actually going to get a full 8 hours so you learn to get10 minutes whenever you can afford to
I have done. Long story short I no longer need it and it doesnt work for me anymore. The problem is staying asleep rather than getting to sleep.
