Hey guys new here. I started my bb journey about 2 years ago and I'm finally ready to compete this year. my question is how do you go about finding a good coach for nutrition and posing? Are they completely necessary. I have trained off and on my whole life, but really crack down and took it seriously the last 2 years. I have a really solid knowledge of exercise science and all the pharmacology. I know nothing about competing any help thanks in advance.
p.s my comp is next june.

Where do u search for that online? kind of a weird niche thing to search for. The only things I can find are personal trainers.
anvilHire a coach for sure. what class are you wanting to compete in? That will determine if you are currently ready.
mens physique, i dont think im ready for classic yet. higher weight cap if i understand it right.
anvilThat's definitely attainable, keep pushing a coach can give you an honest assessment of where you are at and what you need to work on.
Personally I respect what bodybuilders do and have to put their bodies through but it's never been for me, however eventually I'll consider classic division because of my love for that look. You didn't say anything cocky and you seem like you're on the right path. I have wondered myself why a few bodybuilders on here need a coach but when you think about it they really do, especially during the dieting phase, in my opinion they probably are needed most because that time is crucial but as far as workout plan a coach may not be needed but not always the case. Anyways whatever you do find a competent coach who knows what the hell he's doing. Good luck with your show.
someone to discuss the journey. hold you accountable, and unbiased eyes.
O yeah that's a good reason, especially during times when energy is low when dieting for a show. So like I said, that bodybuilder lifestyle isn't my thing but I can see why coaches are needed. I probably would need one just for accountability purposes if I were a bodybuilder competing.
I'll be brutally honest here - how can you say you are ready to compete when you have no quads, hamstrings or calves in your picture post? I wouldn't waste money on a coach just yet, I'd spend a year or 2 in a squat rack and leg press.
from my understanding quads arent scored in mens physique.
Aren’t calves taken into the equation in physique?
yes I think so but idk man im new to all this. the internet is full of clouded information.
Lol so that's why those guys have those long shorts on huh? Ok I got ya. I like that division too but classic is a bit better to me
board shorts for chicken legs!!!!!
That's my end goal is to compete in classic physique.
Get those chickens up!
Hopefully I can be beside you one day onstage competing in a classic physique. Something about that division lol. I'll probably finish last
you never know man.
comp is 10 months away they will grow. one cannot get better at something without doing it. i just want the best chance possible. also im going for mens physique
anvilGo for it bro, press1 was just making an assessment of current condition, mainly because it wasn't specified what class. That's why I asked. Compete, I'll support that cause all day
Hire a coach. Even if for a few months, it never hurts to have a professional perspective and another set of eyes on you.

Facts
I say this respectfully…. be humble regarding your knowledge of “exercise science” and “all the pharmacology”. You’re blowing through 1.3g of gear just go from 170-180lbs. That’s crazy imo.
You look good bro and I respect you posting up. Just remember that there is always more to learn and that goes for all of us
also I started at 135lbs january 2023 10lbs at a time lol stupid fast metabolism.
Well, if you feel like you hit your natty limit and that it was necessary to start running gear in order to improve…. then it is what it is. Everyone is different. Everyone has their own philosophy when it comes to this shit. Mine is proper training, proper rest and proper nutrition and the least amount of gear necessary to achieve the desired results. Larger dosages are best reserved to preserve tissue and maintain strength while in caloric deficit. A growth phase shouldn’t require as much unless you are well beyond your physiological limit. The main driver of anabolism in a growth phase is food. I just see individuals paint themselves into corners running too much gear too early and then leave themselves nowhere to go but up
I’m currently growing off <600mg of aas at 107kg
Man there isn't a male in my family over 180lbs. all string beans lol. Im sure i had more natural genetic potential. I guess ill never know now. I didnt hop on aas until after healing from a rock climbing injury that broke my legs and feet and set me way back. This is honestly they heaviest cycle I've ran I normally never go above 500mg/w of anything. most I've ran was 25mg dbol test npp and i think i matched the doses of the injectables at 300/300/mg/w. I only added in the deca this go around for my elbows.
Damn, I respect the nuts it takes to do some crazy ass shit like rock climb. Fuck though, broke your legs and feet!? That’s too much lol. Glad to see you recovered and I respect that bounce back as well
yeah man I was in a wheelchair for a year. bodybuilding has done wonders for me in my recovery.
no doubt about that man. I should have clarified that I went to school for exercise science. pharmacology is self taught. thats why im on here to learn.
Others might have taken it differently but I kinda knew where you were going with that. Trust me I've seen a lot worse man so all good. Some guys are straight cocky but usually they get smoked out....better believe that shit. Anyways good luck and hope you find a good one.
