Breaking the backwater vial

Just tried opening the backwater vial for my HCG & literally crushed the vial in my hands as I attempted to open it (puretrig 5000IU).
What's the technique for opening backwater without crushing it & what can I replace the water with, to avoid wasting the medicine

I hate those ampules
You can buy bac water off Amazon or many other websites. Will be a multi-use vial with rubber stopper. It’s not a prescription medicine
