+ 2 Boxing politics once again huh? We are the suckers

ad

Well well well @Bill1976 here we go again with the politics of boxing. This is getting rediculous man. It's pure and simple..the BEST AREN'T FIGHTING THE BEST...PERIOD! Us pure boxing fans were supposed to have already seen Crawford vs. Spence along with many other top fights, now Usyk and Fury fight fell out. It's crazy man. I understand money plays a part but what about legacy? Even Roy Jones said nowadays this a a big problem. Back in the 80's and 90's the best fought the best regardless and the promoters didn't get in the way of that, hell in fact they encouraged it.

Gorillakingz's picture

I think Crawford saw a lucrative payday for a east fight in his hometown and went that route. That’s just my opinion tho It’s hard to know what went on w then it seems Spence was down to play but Crawford has no promoter so it’s tough

DeeMan's picture

Yeah Crawford said he's tired of chasing Spence. He said he said situation. Truth somewhere in the middle.

DeeMan's picture

You said it. His snap is gone.

DeeMan's picture

Yessir...thing is and you may disagree but Plant could of won that fight seriously. Hell he even had Canelo for awhile too. He got skills.

Gorillakingz's picture

Yea plant showed his game plan too early he fought tough and should be proud but he also should’ve been KO bayless saved him three separate times which was frustrating but good fight

DeeMan's picture

I agree he should of been KO'd. All that holding by him. He clearly got tired

CRS's picture

At least we’re getting Tank and Garcia..

kinda fit kinda fat's picture

Honestly, it all went to shit when HBO boxing dismantled and DAZN showed up. The golden era of boxing is long gone. Days of the best fighting the best are now replaced with “BIG MONEY” fights. Too much about the “A SIDE” and not enough about making a legacy.

DeeMan's picture

Hell yeah HBO boxing. Boxing after dark too on HBO. Rising stars

DeeMan's picture

Love this discussion my eroid juicehead brothers. Hey @Gorillakingz I will leave ya with a visual. Ok you said 10 or 15 heavyweights could beat Tyson in his prime? To your credit I've heard that from a few experts. No problem with that. It's just a prime Tyson was animal like and man his mentality and physicality was out of this world. Let me say this..his ferociousness came from the fact that he was scared than a mofo of losing seriously. Lol dude tried to push big Frank Bruno's nose up into his brain with uppercuts. Now did alot of those guys lose before they entered the ring?(Michael Spinks) ..yes but they damn well had a reason. Yall do me a favor, look at Tyson's KO of Marvelous Frazier, Joe Frazier's son. Never saw nothing like that in my life. Basically Frazier looked like he got shot multiple times with a 12 gauge...straight sluggs no buck shots lol.

Gorillakingz's picture

I’ll leave you with this …….name one great PRIME fighter Tyson actually beat….

DeeMan's picture

Still giving me a hard time huh? @Bill1976 I'm trying to see his point.

kinda fit kinda fat's picture

Razor Ruddock was still a fuckin monster. I do see where you’re going tho.

SimonM84's picture

Too bad riddick Bowe didn’t live up to his potential.

DeeMan's picture

Yeah Riddick ran away from Lennox Lewis the same way these fighters are running from each other nowadays

DeeMan's picture

Riddick Bowe or Razor Ruddock? He talking bout razor. He's not talking bout Bowe.

SimonM84's picture

I know, just dropping a general statement

DeeMan's picture

My bad. Saw you commenting to him. Alot of folks get Razor Ruddock and Riddick Bowe mixed up. Similar names. No biggie man.

DeeMan's picture

Exactly. I see where he's going too but Razor could definitely take out some of those guys in that list he mentioned haha

DeeMan's picture

Savage mode...@Bill1976 good stuff here. You missed out lol

Bill1976's picture

We have some really good boxers they are just not fighting eachother. It sucks. I end up watching boxing from the 50s through the 90s on you tube. You know who I really liked? Vitali klitschko. Not so much the brither. I think if he didn’t get into politics and fought his brother he would have been undisputed. He had skill like crazy. Great jab

kinda fit kinda fat's picture

That’s the fight that their mother didn’t want. She made them promise to her to never fight each other. Vitali Klitschko is fuckin tough.

DeeMan's picture

Yea he was. I think he beat Lennox Lewis or should of beaten him.

DeeMan's picture

For real. I'm sure you have an opinion on Tyson. In a way it was a waste of talent somewhat. But the guy came from the Brooklyn streets and was poor so he benefited from boxing. Anyways everyone have a good night.

Bill1976's picture

If he didn’t get into drugs he could have beat Holyfield. He did struggle with taller guys sometimes. Especially if they kept him at bay with the jab

DeeMan's picture

Like I keep telling Gorilla Tyson ruined Tyson.

kinda fit kinda fat's picture

Holyfield was heavily sauced up lol

Bill1976's picture

So was Tyson. I remember when Holyfield went from cruiser weight to heavyweight. Right then I knew he was juiced up. He got way too big way too fast.

DeeMan's picture

Nahh I highly doubt Tyson used juice coming up. Dude was a 12 yrs old weighing 195 pounds whipping and robbing grown men. Those stories are well known. But yea Holy used. I remember an issue was raised with that.

Bill1976's picture

I seen an interview where he said he was juicing

DeeMan's picture

Never heard that before. The boxing community never mentioned it like it did other fighters juicing ( Tommy Morrison) ( Fernando Vargas). If you and @Pumped know where that video is at let me know. I tried to find it but no success.

Bill1976's picture

Type in mike Tyson admits to using fake penis, whizzinator, to pass drug test

DeeMan's picture

+1 He admitted being coked up for that Buster Douglas fight too. He admitted that

DeeMan's picture

Yeah I know that is true. Heard that before but he admitted doing coke and smoking marijuana. He never mention Juice. So I guess he started juice at 12 years old. We would of heard about that I'm sure. We hear about everything else ya know? Just saying. Look at him as a kid. Big ass kid.

DeeMan's picture

That's easy none..but it hard for you to name 15 heavyweight fighters from any era that would beat a prime Cus D'amato Tyson. 15? Noooo wayyy! Now coulda woulda shoulda but yea a prime Tyson was definitely better than alot of prime heavyweights so of course he would of beaten alot but fact is he didn't, I get that.

Gorillakingz's picture

Larry Holmes
George foreman
Ali
Vitali Klitschko
Tyson fury
Riddick Bowe
Lennox Lewis
Joe Frazier
Jack Johnson
Jack Dempsey
Evander Holyfield
Joe Louis

DeeMan's picture

this list though... arguably 4 out of 12 my man. Those other 8.....ummmm. I busted your list up bad man.

Gorillakingz's picture

No you didn’t lol. You said nope to two of them. Gave no technical reasons why Tyson wins. You busted my list up as bad as Tyson would’ve busted up that list prime vs prime Smile

DeeMan's picture

It's busted man. I think u just trying to give me a hard time huh?

DeeMan's picture

Read my comments again below on list. I said nope to 2 of them? That's not what I'm looking at now.

kinda fit kinda fat's picture

Can’t forget “The Duke” Tommy Morrison

DeeMan's picture

1.Larry Holmes...nope!
2.George Foreman...nope! He said if he were young again he wouldn't want nothing to do with fighting Tyson.
3.Ali..yea but Frazier who had Tyson bob and weave style gave Ali problems.
4.Vitali Klitcho...yea old Tyson. Prime..no sir
5. Fury...possibly. Too big
6.Bowe...nope
7.Lennox Lewis..possible. They sparred as amateurs.
8. Joe Frazier...hell no
9. Jack Johnson, first black Heavyweight champ from Galveston Tx....nope. Lol he had gold teeth.
10. Jack Dempsey...straight brawl but he gets knocked out by tyson. Similar ferociousness
11. Holyfield...that would of been a good fight...possibly
12. Joe Lewis....brawl and good fight but tyson knocks him out.
Good list

SimonM84's picture

I think Prime Foreman would’ve whipped Tysons ass. I agree though many fighters lost before they hit the ring. Guys like Ali were just from a different era and wouldn’t be psyched out as easily as the guys in the 90s

DeeMan's picture

@Gorillakingz @simonmagus84. The funniest KO of all time was Foreman vs Frasier. Lol look that shit up. Hit him in back of the head and made him skipp across the ring. Look it up. To this day everyone stills laughs about that KO. Unfortunately when Frasier died they remembered that KO.

DeeMan's picture

Don't know about that whipping ass one lol. Someone would be KO'd. Tell ya what a prime Tyson was way too fast for Foreman. Way too fast.

DeeMan's picture

Foreman arguably had the better power according to Tyson. Forman said himself that he didn't want nothing to do with fighting Tyson. He said that...look it up. I don't make anything up lol. And yea mentally Ali would frustrate Tyson with movement and psychology. Again Ali thought highly of Tyson. If all those guys gave the dude respect then why can't some regular folks lol. That's strange.

SimonM84's picture

I’ve seen Foreman say that and I have tremendous respect for Tyson. I just believe Foreman was in a class of his own. I’m not doubting anything you say but these are simply perspectives. To a point I even believe Ali beating foreman was a fluke. Ali had the better game plan and psyched him out. If Foreman trained according to Ali’s style and fought Home, totally different fight.

DeeMan's picture

Foreman and Wilder hardest punchers of all time. Lol that's not an opinion that's a fact

DeeMan's picture

Yep I understand why you'd say that, not arguing with you. I use to think that too. Now I just think 10 out of 10 times Foreman loses to Ali. He has so much respect for Ali too.

DeeMan's picture

Of course perspectives and yeah I agree Foreman was an absolute beast however what you must know is this, and any boxer will tell u this..every boxer has some other boxer that they cannot get past. That's just the way it is my man. I'm no expert at all but just relaying what I was told and learned. For example Shane Mosley fought Vernon Forest 3 times and lost to him 3 times. Vernon goes on and loses to a guy that Mosley beats lol. That's how it goes. My point is in my opinion regardless how Foreman trained for Ali it wouldn't of mattered. Ali had his number lol. Holyfield had Tyson's number. It happens. But hey just my opinion and I understand yours.
