Blood work shows high triglycerides
ad
My doctor prescribed some shit called Fenofibrate. I hate taking drugs and don’t trust doctors 100% when it comes to scripts because of all the benefits they get from prescribing certain drugs. Do you guys think Tudca & NAC is better than this drug? I’m not looking for medical advice just some opinions.

I my SGPT is 44. Online I see the good range 6-56 but some same high starts at 40.
I can't believe no one recommended GW501516, it's great for shitty lipid profiles.
If you're on cycle, your lipids are prone to being fucked, especially with things like anavar.
Unc I had my blood taken again and my triglycerides came back great 117. I think I wasn’t fasted the first time. LDL was a little over normal rage and cholesterol was 242.
I hear good things about GW when it comes to stamina.
It's great for that but I use it mainly for the effect it has on the lipids. Anavar will crush my lipid profile, a bit of GW keeps me balanced. Plus the fat burning and increased cardio endurance is a plus
Can you PM me a good brand. I know there are many bullshit suppliers of SARMs and Peptides
Sorry man, I can't do that. Site rules
Really? Sounds like a bs rule since this is a review site. Now I’m confused lol
I bought Niacin 50mg on Amazon and ordered Vinnie Tortorich Krill Oil. He has some quality products. How much niacin should I take daily to become accustomed to avoid flush? I want to get up to 500 or 1000mg a day.
If you hate taking prescription drugs why go and see someone who is 100% going to recommend you take prescription drugs
Don’t forget doctors are good at diagnosing issues if one exists but not very good at curing but excellent at band aiding symptoms. No profit in curing. So if you go in knowing this you can take the diagnosis and if possible find remedies on you own.
Doctors aren't good at anything I don't know anyone who's gone to a doctor for something and they fixed the problem without causing other problems.
I see you too are bitter about Drs.
I treat myself for everything unless it's complicated surgery. I have a very passionate hatred towards Dr's. 95% are google experts, the other 5% are top end surgeons and trauma docs.
I go to the doctor for blood not scrips. He’s constantly pursuing shot on me but I ALWAYS decline.
There's a lot of people who are on dialysis for life because they took pills prescribed by their doctors for blood pressure or to lower their cholesterol
TricepatopsUse Niacin cut the dose in half to 250mgs take with food should make flush more manageable. Then slowly work you way up. Read some info that taking Niacin can reduce triglycerides by 50%. Unfortunately has to be flush niacin to work also need to exercise more to get that fat out of the blood.
You are essentially asking for medical advice against your doctors advice lol why didn’t you ask him/her for other alternatives?
TUDCA or NAC… no.
EPA/DHA yes. Research your concentrations.
Trigs at 300 requires at LEAST dietary modifications, limiting total daily cholesterol and sat fat consumption, reviewing med list as some can cause elevated trigs, and possibly adding meds like fenofibrates to lower. Niacin flush free will increase HDL not likely going to lower trigs.
Tv lush free niacin is garbage. It’s actually not niacin.
This is true
I just found 60mg Niacin. I will take 50mg a day until I can man up. That flush was horrible when I took 500mg for the first time.
Lol, Well. Work your way up. Research only supported >1.5g per day increasing HDL. I have most people start with 250mg tablets and break in half if necessary 4x per day.
They love drugs and not holistic
Unfortunately man this how most are trained and we are limited to the medical research/data which is perpetuated by big pharma. There is no money in it for them to research cheap herbal supplements.
It's crazy because I've talked with many Doctors and alot are clueless when it comes to herbs and even vitamins. So it was surprising when my old personal Doc didn't prescribe me meds for cholesterol but instead advised me to use natural alternatives such as oatmeal and other things to lower my levels. Now I knew as much or even more than him about these things but it was the thought of it all. Unfortunately this Dr had some sort of surgery and passed away on the table months later. He was rare, very rare. But to your point, they aren't trained enough in such areas. For those reading this very high cholesterol levels more than likely will require meds or even surgery unfortunately
Yeah that’s sad because health is secondary for many doctors and all med schools. First is money. I know a doctor who told me in med school he had his standard medical classes but a ton of classes on dealing with insurance companies but not one class on food, vitamins or lifestyle. WTF!
I wouldn't say health is secondary but we ALL KNOW that the pharmaceutical industry plays a vital part of it all. I've talked to too many Docs
If it is the primary concern then let’s stop treating and start curing. I call cvs and I have to wait while the automated system rattles off about 20 vaccines they are pushing. I was told it’s illegal to treat cancer with anything other than chemotherapy or surgery and chemo is the same shit from the 70s. Not sure how true it is but it’s scary if it is true. Some doctors will hound you for 5$ copay and others never ask for a penny other than insurance.
I do hope one day we can find a way. But it a complex web the capitalism weaves. Our society and big pharma is set up to do exactly as you suggest- treat, but not cure, and continue to perpetuate essentially, the disease. Because that is how the people in power stay in power and the rich stay rich.
By not focusing on the real foundational issues- Lifestyle. Dietary habits. Exercise. Sleep. and stress management.
Disagree. Health is not “secondary”
Why the hell do you think we go into practicing medicine? I can promise you it’s not for the 100s of thousands of dollars in debt. Most medical providers truly do want to help people and are doing so the way they are taught to. Which IS driven by big pharma and the industry produced data unfortunately a lot of the time. You have to understand how to read to and interpret the data to make the best decision for your patient and this is why there are large bodies of researchers/physicians to make algorithms and guidelines by which we practice.
There are classes dealing with insurance and billing because it’s a legit nightmare. And a tough learning curve. You can know the right medication to treat your patient but maybe 50% of the time insurance won’t cover it.
I see your point. I’m not trying to offend you but food and other natural sources don’t require insurance approval. I personally feel doctors getting rewarded by big pharmaceutical companies does not benefit patient. I’m think the biggest scam is drug commercials. They should be illegal. Their goal is to make these people say “ hey doc I think I may need this drug”. Doctors know what drugs are out there and they should be the ones recommending them not people because of commercials.
No offense taken brother. Just trying to educate. I know how it comes off out there.
100% agree on all that.
Thanks buddy I appreciate good practitioners like yourself. The info you share for free on here would be a big charge in an office environment. Thank you!
FR accepted
Wow that's crazy! Yep alot of times it's all about the money and their relationship with the pharmaceutical industry
Some physicians do have ties to the industry and ethically are obligated to disclose that. Many (most) don’t though brother.
Yes Unfortunately. That's just the way it is.
I didn’t know that. Thanks that’s good to know.
You guys have better info on issues like this than doctors. That’s why I love this place. I asked my doctor about alternatives and he said there isn’t any. My LDL isn’t high but he’s tried so hard to push Lipitor and others on me even though it wasn’t needed.
Yea that Dr I commented on had some Lipitor in his hand and all of a sudden put it down and then started lecturing me. I was thinking man this isn't the norm lol. RIP to that Dr. Again if cholesterol is extremely high then yes cholesterol lowering medications will be needed for sure.
He felt some guilt and took the high road. Good guy. Doctors get trips and other gifts if drup quotas are met.
I agree. Some Docs are good and others aren't, that's just the reality of it all. And no one can spin that
There’s good and bad in all walks of life. The problem is most of us truly trust doctors. I actually have 2 surgeons that were so good to me and fully honest. One of them totally removed his bill to me because he knew I was having trouble. He personally still calls me 2 years after to see how everything is going.
And those good Doctors will be blessed
They sure will. I wonder if they are treated by colleagues differently because they are not the norm.
Not sure but anytime you go against the grain there's always resistance. But maybe most aren't treated differently
I hope they can convert some of the misguided.
Yeah doctors are taught ZERO on nutrition and natural remedies.
TricepatopsThe drugs you mentioned not really sure if they will help with triglycerides but they are good for antioxidant protection. As for cholesterol and triglycerides they claim 70% or so is genetics and the rest can be diet. I would look at supplements that help with cholesterol and the triglycerides. Fish oil but the good stuff the kind that had little EPA and DHA are a rip off. You need higher doses of those two ingredients. Olive oil but make sure it is real as there are a lot of olive oil out there that isn't real. I know messed up but I know Costco has real 100% olive oil, avocados are great. Look into family history of it. Also from previous blood has it went up? One other thing shifting to a Low carb diet with good fats will help alot, do it for about 3 months and get retested.
My cholesterol was borderline But triglycerides was 300
TricepatopsAll what I mentioned will help but my post about niacin above is the best way to lower them naturally.
