Hit a nerve while injecting into my upper-outer glute
ad
Injected into my glute -- closer to the center than usual but still in the correct quadrant. I hit a nerve. There was a tingly sensation and my glute contracted involuntarily. Upon removing the needle, there was a bit of free flowing blood. I replaced the needle then injected into my shoulder.
Question: I feel fine. Just some lingering discomfort in the injection area. Anything to worry about? Everything I search is about the sciatic nerve -- not whatever I hit.

Easily done man. You should be fine, Just keep an eye out
It happens, it hurts like hell. Scar tissue hurts really bad too.. and subq can swell up like a baseball.. but like P said youre good
PcushionYour good man.
Everything should be fine apart from that weird feeling for a couple of days. Take care.
MarcusAureliusYou will be good bro...worse is when u have bad shot in lats, for 10-14 days it hurts like crazy and all that side of abdomen is swollen
We’ve all done it bud. Remember to stay slightly to the side to hit the middle of the quad.
I’ve done this so many times bro. (IMO)- if it stops bleeding and you clean up the injection site, you should be good.
I hit a nerve in my quad, felt like i used a harpoon. Automatic reflex is pull it right out instantly and pain goes away pretty quick. Then i get the nerve you dont feel till you push the compound in and get a seering burn that intensifies even after you pull out and cripples you for like 5min or more. Both pour blood but never has effects past 24hrs. Now injecting in scar tissue the pain is bearable so you complete injection and have hard walnut lump and pain lasts couple days but stay a walnut sized lump. Then there us the high dose pip where it enlarges the next day and stays sore for a week and does get hot like an infection but never progresses past that. May get a slight fever. Never had a cyst infection yet so cant speak on that experience luckily.
these are my experiences. Others may be different
I remmeber a time i hit that nerve blood sprayed out at the sametime boom tren cough so the more coughing the more blood LOST my favorite bed comforter
AnonI do love a good squirter.
That’s why inject in the bathroom, if you get a squirter it’s easier to clean up. Quads I inject will sitting on my bed, never had a squirter from the quad. Unless you had to grab the comforter to stop the bleeding it was so bad lmao. I’m only laughing because it probably didn’t just happen to you!
I've hit many a nerve when injecting glutes over the years, you'll always get quite a bit of blood too as they are next to the bigger veins in that region. My understanding is you literally drop on the floor when hitting the sciatic and then have problems walking for the next few days. Known a few people who have done it.
AnonSciatic runs posterior, yes? Where are you guys pinning to hit it on quad?
RustyhookerYou might get a good bruise. Hot pack tomorrow will help with pip if needed.
Rule---- hands on hips with thumbs facing back. Flex the outer glute. 1in inwards and 1in down. Stay clear of the sciatic. Hitting a good vein tingles funky odd too.
What pin size? Lean bf level?
Thanks. If something was actually wrong, I'd probably feel it. I gotta reup on pin technique. I was too far to the middle.
1.5 inch 23g. 16% bf.
RustyhookerI like 25 ga better but its a preference. Takes lil longer to inject but less trauma to the muscle imo. Less scar tissue.
Yessir....rework the position. Firm direct pressure if ya bleed.
Same, I use BD 3ml 25 gauge 1”
Good’ol 1.5”
