+ 4 The importance of research *a personal experience*

ad

There is nothing new about the subject I am about to discuss, but given the nature and power of the hormones we may or may not choose to put in our bodies, I feel like a new post couldn't hurt. A recent personal experience also reminded me of the dire need to research the substances we are thinking of using. Up until I found eroids most if not all I knew about AAS was based on he said she said broscience that was just flat out crazy and in hindsight was the cause of a lot of health issues I ran into during and after past cycles.

I am of the opinion that AAS and hgh, due to their association with fitness and strength, loose some of the caution deserved as powerful drugs. And mind you, I am not saying everyone or hell I may be just reminding myself that I forgot. But if anyone else may not remember I am saying it again. These hormones are very powerful prescription meds that we must learn everything about before putting them in our bodies. It becomes even more important when we are taking other meds or supplements. There are a lot of interactions between meds. Some apparent some not so. I recently found an interaction between hgh and a medication I take. Of course My dumb ass found the interaction by causing the interaction! Apparently hgh lowers serum blood levels of buprenorphine, causing withdrawal. And let me tell you to experience that without knowing what is going on is pretty scary. It was only after reaching out to a fellow eroids member that through messages and ideas that I finally checked drug interactions and found it. So O f course that brings me back to the importance of research, research, research! This was a rookie mistake that was pretty costly as well. But sometimes we all need a reminder of the power of the gear we are using and I am not ashamed to admit, this was mine.

Thanks for the heartfelt article! Yes what you say is true. Of course there are a lot of sites that will tell you drug interactions like web.md or drugs.com. however, they usually don't include AAS since these are illegal substances. So it would be great if there was a site that listed them! +

Subutex, and yes I heard of the injection. Not sure if my insurance would cover it or not. As it stands I pay $3 for 60 so its pretty cost effective. You are right about the stigma that comes with addiction. What I have noticed though is it is beginning to fade. Where as years ago it was something I felt like I ha to hide, but now I actually get shown a lot of support for taking the steps I've taken. I think the opioid epidemic has began to touch so many people's lives that the whole thought process is changing.

Do you take the Buprenorphine for pain you have?

Top_Price77's picture

It's not for pain, I used to be a heroin addict. I started taking this med about 7 years ago. It was a game changer for me. People that know me now find it hard to believe where I came from. 4 x looser, no one and nothing left, to a responsible working family man that owns a house truck pays bills and grandkids love the shit out their pawpaw type dude. No drugs except the bup. And I am at a point in my life that it's time to start saying buy to that.

Yeah, I know they do. The bup is usually prescribed in micrograms for pain. And as for the withdrawal of methadone, I know intimately! Lol I jumped off @ 150mg a day. You talking about hell. Not as intense as h withdrawal but so so much longer.

I was on proxatine for anxiety and coming off that was harsh as fuck it's nowhere near what you've been taking make sure you taper off slow like a year or more good luck bro hope you the best

I agree, we tend to trust that the doctor knows if we should take this or that med since they know what meds we already take. To be honest I was dumbfounded that hgh interacted with it the way it did, especially considering our bodies produce it. Thanks for the advice tho.

Good post and good luck on your recovery. I’ve been completely off for a few years now and bupernorphine definitely saved my life. Take it slow and steady on the taper and you won’t even realize it’s happening. I Didn’t feel a thing.

Thanks, I been on for a while and I am to the point where I am ready to be completely off. I'm with you, it saved my life and gave me a life. I just feel like it has served its purpose and it's time to start the process of coming off.
