how do you guys feel about fasted cardio? i havent been doing it lately but i may be returning to it. or do you guys prefer cardio after you lift? or before? or not at all? mostly interested in thoughts from relatively lean guys as that is my body type.

To get the most out of cardio you have to be smart about the type of cardio you do and when you do it.

I'm doing fasted cardio since 20 years 3-4 times a week.
This is the best solution to lose fat.
I wake up at six o clock. Soon after I take a coffe with a shot of GH 2IU and hit the cardio session for about 40 min.
Once you get the routine it's the best feeling!
Weights I do in the afternoon or late evening.

I do cardio after training. I know a lot of people say that's wrong. But I can't do cardio for 30 minutes covered in sweat and then do weights. By that time I am a soggy wet noodle. I always go to gym before eating. I will not force myself to eat so I can feel it moving all over in my gut. Military same deal. Wake up at 5am. Go run. Go to gym. Then we eat. Always kept me lean and muscular.

Bro I remember the morning PTs, fucking death runs through the mountain ranges when I was in 29 Palms, up those sandy mountains, I swore I would never run like that again lol

Oh yeah i promised myself to never run again after the military...kept good on that promise lol unless someone is chasing me with a gun I walk now at my own fucking pace too )

I think fasted cardio is fine for loosing weight in a shorter amount of time, but I wouldn’t do it as part of a regular routine.
I do regular cardio usually 5 times a week, for 20-30 min. Over time, I continue to loose and keep weight off. Consistency is key.

That used to be me. Never did cardio. Stayed lean. Then once I hit 40, I just felt I needed to do it to keep the hopefully keep the old heart a little healthier.

Lol Smile
Same here.
In winter time i tend not to get that much into cardio..
Few years back i was more into fitness and physique. Cardio was a must in my list!
Now i just have my cardio walking the stairs, which actually is hard,(6 floors, no elevator, where i work, on vessel) so basicly i get plenty of that.
Sometimes sauna

Depends upon what you’re attempting to achieve...
For fat burning, you can’t go wrong with fasted cardio first thing in morning, or cardio post workout...try both, everyone responds differently.
If you’re bodybuilding, you’ll want to stick with slow & steady...keep HR in optimal zone...
If you’re training for sport...you’ll up the intensity to proper HR zone.
I doubt you’ll find anyone suggest cardio before lifting weights... its not the optimal order for maximum gains...bodybuilding or sport.

I prefer to lift and do cardio before eating. I get up, have a few cups of coffee, then hit the gym for weights and then 30 minutes cardio. I eat about an hour later. Eating before just doesn't work for me. Slows down my workouts.

I could never imagine lifting before I eat...I have seen people do it but personally I would just never get the most out of my workout on an empty stomach

Food pulls blood away from the muscle too. I think your technique is great as long as the workout doesn’t run too long. Keep it short and sweet before you start running on fumes. That’s a good way to sharpen up your insulin sensitivity as well.

I can go about 90 minutes pretty much non stop until I hit the wall.
