What's everyone's favorite protein and how does everyone supplement it?

ad

Just figured I'd post in here and see what kind of feedback everyone had. I actually sell some supplements(pre workout, protein, bcaa etc) at my gym . I'm always getting guys at the gym acting like my supps are too expensive . Then I see these guys taking body fortress, six star , cheap muscletech from sam's and vice versa. My question to everyone is .... Does anyone actually read nutrition facts panels and research what is what!!! When you are buying protein that's a 45g scoop and only has 22-25grams protein and maltodextrin and creatine is in the middle of the ingredients it's like your really paying $40 for a 2lb tub instead of $20. The proteins I sell are at the most 32g scoop with 23-25g protein and no malto . Also 80-90% of the preworkouts coming out are crap (C4, BPI, BSN) pretty much the big names that can put a 4-6gram scoop of pixie dust in there with no clinical doses. Anyway just wanted to vent and tell everyone to learn your ingredients and check at what your actually buying . There are lots of fillers in there these days. Some of my personal favorites that actually have lots of active ingredients are

ALLMAX ISOFLEX - WHEY ISOLATE- 90% TRUE PROTEIN -30GRAM SCOOP-27GRAMS PROTEIN!!
PES SELECT PROTEIN- WHEY CONCENTRATE 80% & CASEIN BLEND THIS ONE IS GOOD NIGHT TIME
RULE ONE ISO- WHEY ISOLATE&HYDROLYSATE- 88% TRUE PROTEIN- 29GRAM SCOOP-25GPROTEIN
NUTRAKEY WHEY OPTIMA- CONCENTRATE,ISOLATE,HYDROLYSATE- 76%TRUE-32G SCOOP23GPROT

What's everyone's favorites and how much do you guys take a day and time of the day?
So maybe this will help some guys that just buy walmart , gnc , or whatever the heck is just the cheapest. Because it's not helping much if you read into it a little . Machinegunmac

I don't buy into all that supplement hype. It's just companies trying to take my money, end of story. I only spend my money on steroids, cheapest protien powder, creatine, Zinc, magnesium, multivitamin, and real food.

The only reason I buy protein powder is to get protien in me right away after a workout. Creatine because it's cheap and actually proven to work. Zinc is a cheap way to use as an anti estrogen. Magnesium before bed makes me sleep like a baby. Multivitamin daily just because. Other than that I eat real food, I stick to rice, potatoes, chicken, steak, veggies and fruit.

These supplement companies cannot even agree with what's "best" as they all claim their shits the best. I just read up on a certain test booster where they claim one of the ingredients is "found on the steep rocks of different formations found in the Himalayas and other high mountains.", like wtf is that. This is the things that supplement companies have to say in order to claim they have the newest and best stuff out there. And then I love the companies having "proprietary blends" which totally hides what amounts is even in it. The reason these supplements are so dam.expensive is because of marketing and money to design labels, but the actual content of products is pennies. When I go to Walmart and see a protien powder that label says 25g per serving and has 18 servings in it for $18 I'm buying it and I don't care what tiny extra ingredients may be in it.

Show me studies where they have the cheap walmart brand up against the expensive "better" protien. When I shop I go by the unit price, I want the most product for my dollar. I have had this argument before with someone on a message board because they were saying walmart sold protien is junk. Yet they could not provide any legit studies showing otherwise.

I love ISO 100 isolated I take 2 scoops with whole milk for breakfast and the same after workout. My diet has been on point since I started my first ever cycle but I was low on money so I bought cheap pro and wow can I tell the difference and so can my workout partner! Concentrate to isolate is huge to us the recover is next day ready to go but with cheaper concentrate it would take about 2 days off to feel 100% again. Diet is 3500-4000 calories a day 250-30 grams of protein and 200-300 grams of carbs but I try and get my carbs through veggies my workout partner uses bread mainly but I can tell a huge difference just my opinion

I use Synthepure Whey Isolate. I use it in between meals 2-3x per day and again right before bed.

I buy the cheap shit 2 jugs for $30 Body fortress at Walmart, and honestly can't tell the fucking difference between a $50 jug, and a $15 because protein shakes, bars are a crutch that does not replace proper diet, and good quality whole food . There are so many fucking gimmicks, and bullshit on the market with BCAA's, probiotics, this, that, and the other thing in it etc... at steep cost. I found it more cost effective to buy BCAA's in bulk, and probiotics in capsule form to help aid in the breakdown of protein, and digestion of protein but honestly I usually only have a serving a day maybe because I rely on my meals to do their job so do yourself a favor save hundreds a year on the latest hype, and plan your meals better with good quality meats, beans, peanut butter, eggs etc...

Pre workout is 90% junk and they over charge like crazy. I order all the ingredients right from Amazon and make my own. Cost me about $80 and I'll get 8-10 months from it. So it's 1/3 of the price and I'm getting the right amount of each ingredient!!!!!

Myprotein.com for protein, BCAA and Creatine.
