+ 1 Test c and acne

ad

How do I reduce acne from taking Weekly doses of test c (150mg)? Would an anti estrogen help?

mud dawg's picture

I just wanted to thank all of you guys again for all of your help! This is my first time to post a question and having you all respond so quickly and with excellent advice has been amazing! Man...if the world was filled with more kind, intelligent, helpful [and STRONG, ha] people like yourself, then it certainly would be a more safer and respectable place to be! Thanks again and the "Best" Holiday wishes to all of you!

Just from personal experience, I got pretty bad acne after 3 months on TRT @ 200mg wk. I tried numerous things, zinc, tea tree oil etc and nothing worked. Then I increased my arimidex dose to 1mg wk after BW showed my E2 at 35 (TT @ 674) from .5mg wk and within a wk or so it started to subside. I definitely think there's a connection between acne and elevated E2.

It didn't completely get rid of it though, so I found an OTC acne cream with Benzoyl Peroxide as the active ingredient, and within another wk it was 90% gone. I use it every night before bed now and have zero acne issues, even now that I'm running a lot more test. Benzoyl Peroxide kills the bacteria that causes the acne, so it won't stop you from getting oily skin, but it will prevent the bacteria that uses that oil as a breeding ground. Not sure if it will work for everyone, but it did the job for me.

Acne.org.sells the best benzoyl peroxide and its a clear gel not white like the otc benzoyl

Thanks for the info Aztmtan! Perhaps an increase of arimidex is what is needed. Right now I take .5 eod. I definitely will see the doc and look at the results of the bw. Also really appreciate the info on the acne cream! I will head to the store and purchase some tonight. Thanks again and enjoy!

Also, just as a forewarning, the benzoyl peroxide acts like bleach so whatever towel you use to wipe it off will get destroyed. I learned this the hard way because I often leave some on the trouble spots overnight and don't wash it off when I go to bed. It totally wrecked some nice sheets until I figured out what it was. Figured it's worth a mention since you said you're gonna try it out.

Thank you freedom1981! I definitely need to see my doc and get the bloodwork done but it would not hurt to add a zinc supp to my diet. Enjoy!

Thank you for the info iSmellBurningWires! I definitely need to see my doc, look at the results of the bloodwork and see what he suggests to correct the problem but I certainly do appreciate your help and will keep proviron in mind. Enjoy!

Thank you very much Makwa, Mitch77, and bnbabt611 for your help! I will definitely get my blood work done as well as speak to my doctor. I am a 44 yr old man and have been on trt for 8 months but have begun to get acne on my shoulders the last few months. I am certain it has something to do with the test C as I have never had acne like this in this area. Thank you guys again and may you all have a great holiday season!

Tell your doc that your dose is giving you bouts of acne and he should be able to square you away. Have you just started trt or been on awhile and this is something new popping up?

You are fairly new to TRT then so first and foremost let your doc know what you are experiencing so he can run some bloodwork and especially test to see where your estro is at.

Thanks Makwa! I will definitely see the doc and get the blood work done. Enjoy!

What makes you think that you are getting acne specifically from taking weekly doses of Test c? Easiest way to find out is to have your bloodwork done.

I'm assuming you're on trt at thst dose. I would get bloodwork to see where your estro stands. Acne can be from the increased dht, and both high and low estro or just simply from your body adjusting to new hormone levels. In my experience, even with high dht, acne increases when my estro is high and is minimal when I keep it in check. Again, you will need bloodwork to confirm if you need an ai; if not it is just a guessing game.
